@Darth:
… How is Fujitora taking on both Straw Hats and Doflamingo at the same time less tense for you then Fujitora being stopped by Sabo?
Fujitora is not supposed to be the main threat to the main characters this arc, Doflamingo is. You were complaining that the villains in this arc weren`t providing any tension to the main characters, and your solution to the problem is to have said villains be attacked and decimated by an Admiral?? Doflamingo is the big force that needs to be defeated this arc, and if Fujitora becomes a major threat for him, it cheapens his status as the main villain.
No, that was Aokiji and Garp playing favorites, and it was quite clear.
Thats easy to say in hindsight.
And instead of treatning antagonist, we get OP protagonist.
Win?
I…don`t know what you mean. Fujitora is not the main antagonist this arc.
If the force lead by an Admiral is incapable of any action here, not on Yonkou territory, not fighting with main revolutionary force, here, then how will they be able to accomplish anything later on?
They are not incapable of any action here, where do you get that from? Fujitora has chosen not to after Doflamingo and I agree that his reasons behind that decision are still muddled and will hopefully be cleared up and make some sort of sense in the end. But objectively, that decision is not any weirder than for Aokiji not to go after the Strawhats, or for Kuma to indirectly save the crew from Kizaru. We know their reasons now and we have a good grasp of their characters, but objectively, these decision are completely against what they should be doing in that situation in service of the government. I cant really judge Fujitora
s character and his decisions yet, and I can only guess if that is Oda`s intention. We will only know by the end of the arc.
But, it has been shown that if Fujitora would start attacking Doflamingo, he would be a major threat to him. The problem is not his lack of abilities and power.
And what was the bloody point of hyping them as stronger then ever WHEN THEY ARE NOT!?
They are stronger than ever. The Admirals, together with the Yonkou and some chosen Shichibukai, like Mihawk are the strongest people in the One Piece world, that is fact. But you have to come to terms with the fact that beating them will at some point become feasible and be accomplished by the main characters, because they are evolving. The Admirals cant be untouchable super beings forever, and some point, Luffy and Zoro etc. will have to be at their level, that is the point of the story, that was the point of their training. They are not yet there, but they are not as unreachable anymore as they once were, and they shouldn
t be, or else the story wouldn`t be progressing.
And I would not be on complete lack of another timeskip just yet.
I doubt it. There wont be another part in the story where Luffy will say "Yep, let
s train for a few years again, guys". This isnt Dragonball, they don
t need a timeskip for every new strong villain. The timeskip was precisely for the New World. There isnt another ocean with even stronger fighters that they aren
t ready for yet.
Then why include Fujitora in the arc to begin with!?
I know you are pretty down on Odawriting skills at the moment, and I
m not saying he is an infallible writing God or anything, but how about giving the man the benefit of the doubt and assume that he had something in mind when he put the new Admiral in the arc. Just because that reason is not so he can defeat everybody around him does not mean that there is no reason at all, or that his part in arc will have no relevance or no consequences.
The fact that he is fighting evenly is exactly what kills his credibility. The fact that he unable to accomplish anything on his own, kills his credibility.
Thats like saying Kizaru fighting evenly with an old Rayleigh killed his credibility. Sabo is not some random weakling, he is the freaking right-hand man of Dragon, who together with Whitebeard, has been presented as the most notorious man in the world. Plus, he just ate a superpowerful devil fruit. And Oda actually managed to convince me enough of Fujitora
s strength that, besides this, I still think he has a pretty good of winning. But no matter wholl win, this fight won
t end in a curbstomp. If Fujitora doesnt accomplish anything this arc this will either be because of his peculiar personaity or outside forces. You know, like Kizaru, despite beating everybody up, didn
t really accomplish his mission to capture the pirates that attacked a Tenryubito?
So you are buying that Fujitora could do something on the level of the previous three then?
Cause he sure as hell doesn't feel like it.
And what is that even about? Are you complaining about Fujitora being ineffective or the Marines? Because that is not the same. Fujitora can attack his opponents with freaking meteors. Who the hell cares if he is on the exact same level as the other Admirals, he is still a powerhouse and a force to be reckoned with.
Sure, Doffy and his little merry band of misfits might be corrupt, but they still took out more pirates then Fujitora did.
Aaaaaaand they are currently terrorizing an entire island, with probably no intention of letting anybody leave alive. I don`t know, but I assume the World Government cares more about, you know, not killing a few thousands civilians than about how many pirates were captured.
Really now? Cause marines of rank other then admiral are repeatedly losing, and Shichibukai are constantly winning.
Fujitora's biggest achiement is not getting his ass handed to him yet.
Well, that makes him better than Law, who is a Shichibukai, at least. :ninja: Also, uhm yeah, whenever did you get the impression that any rank below Admiral would be capable of defeating a Shichibukai? Shichibukai seem to have gotten a bad rep ever since the Yonkou were introduced, but they are still pretty damn strong and dangerous.
And I'm sorry, Fujitora being completly wasted as a character is not disappointing?
I guess not.
If he had no role for him, he should not have included him. As simple as that.
1. Not defeating everybody in sight does not equal "wasting a character".
2. You are not the author, the arc is not finished = you have no idea what role Fujitora is going to play. He is still around and ca do stuff, you know.
