In my french volume they used "fluide", the same word they uses for Haki. It's chapter 234.
Oh and my edition was released last year, so the translator probably knew about Haki when he translated this chapter.

If it was translated recently, then they might be inclined to include it, but it's still a weird thing to say when haki as a concept wasn't introduced. We had a few instances which later we would find out is Haki, but at that point it wasn't a full, known concept to the readers.

Unfortunately I can't view any type of video out here, so I don't know what version you are showing me. Assuming he did say haki, it seems weird that he would be basing Luffy's ability on Haki use, especially when bounties were high for characters that couldn't even use it. In the end it doesn't really change much, because the implication is the same, they think Luffy isn't worthy enough for the bounty that he has.
So we've got issue 35 coming out in the next few days and I believe the week after that we'll be getting a double issue (36/37), iirc. Sucks.
EDIT: Inaccurate post, check the next page for the correction. I blame my dog.

I've come to terms that a there is no new One Piece chapter every 3-4 weeks. Of course, I've learned to come to terms with a lot of things.

You mean the Obon double issue?
EDIT: I was going to make this question. This years Obon (8/15 or 15/8) is on Friday.
Scan chapters are out on Wednesdays and printed ones 5 days after on Mondays so the Wednesday before Obon is 8/13 and Monday 8/18
There be a break or a Saturday Chapter? Or something else?

I hope that's false. :[ These breaks are killing me. It's sad because after the break Oda's gonna go on his usual break soon after.

No, double issue will be issue #37-38. This is the calendar for next weeks.
- Weekly Shonen Jump #35: Chapter 754 (no break information on chapter 753 so is confirmed).
- Weekly Shonen Jump #36: ??? (we will know next Wednesday if there will be a new chapter or a break in this issue).
- Weekly Shonen Jump #37-38: Chapter 755 or 756 (One Piece has had color pages in this issue last years, so we can confirm there will be a new chapter in issue #37-38).
Thanks redon! we can always count on you on these stuff :)
It's not impossible, but it's unlikely that they will win.
At best, Blue Gilly manages to put up some sort of fight before going down.
It's clear that they will fight them, since there is none left to do it. And if gladiators don't win , then what? Half of the straw hats are not even on the island, there's none left to beat the 5 executives(gladius, baby 5 and the rest).
And you can't think not even Don chinjao, who should be better then what luffy defeated in the arena( since he has his dunce hat back) can't beat at least 1 of the 5.

Robin, Rebecca, Bartolomeo, Bellamy, Koala, Kin'emon…
Robin, Rebecca, Bartolomeo, Bellamy, Koala, Kin'emon…
Last time we saw Kimemon he jumped in a hole looking for kanjuro, Rebecca had her beating in the final and block D fights…can she handle another fight and win? Bellamy has DD to worry for now, maybe Koala and Bartolomeo.
Still, the gladiator's only role is to hype the executives and buy a bit of time for Luffy to get on the next level? I don't think so.
Still, the gladiator's only role is to hype the executives and buy a bit of time for Luffy to get on the next level? I don't think so.
I do think so. The executives have done very little so far. They're the ones needing hype right now.
Dellinger himself has already taken down 2 of them with relative ease. The other executives will probably follow suit so they don't look bad in comparison. Lao G's fighting style is still a mystery, Machvise's DF is still unnamed and not very well-explained, Baby 5 hasn't fought by herself yet.
Meanwhile, most of the gladiators have already shown what they're capable of during the block fights. There's also the problem that they aren't very developed besides Chinjao and are just minor side-characters. Oda won't give special treatment for some of them while making others fall like flies. And they're perfect to make the bad guys look good.
I really like the Gladiators though, but I don't feel like they're going to win this one.
I don't see Chinjao losing one on one though, there also seems to be a lot of emphasis on Dagama as the tactician to make it work. Maybe Barto and a few others like Cavendish will join in at the end to safe the gladiators when they're in a tight spot.
I mean for conversation as whole not only for your posts but as it seems you must have been closes to writing it was impossible if you replied
and then your style of posting.. again. Cant be helped so..
Whatever you say - mhm mhm mkay mkay.
You said you were told it was impossible, and then quoted a post of mine from a while back.
The implication was pretty clear.
It's just kind of sad that you're so insecure as a poster that you need to reply to a similar theory to your own with a post about how you were "told it was impossible" to try and seemingly keep score lol.

Ah, you're right. I mixed up the issues, lol! Well, that's one extra chapter to enjoy then. Lovely~~
Been on my mind for a while and probably mentioned already.
My match-ups;
Diamante vs Kyros - This was quite obvious, it was bound to happen. People thought it would be impossible because Diamante is fighting in the finals, well looky now
Luffy/Law vs Doflamingo - In my opinion, Doflamingo is just too good for Luffys current arsenal, Law is going to take part of the fight with Luffy since he's been very adamant about fighting Doflamingo. Tag team going on. I don't like hearing all this 2 year training crap, if he can't fight he should quit. Don't bother.
Trebol vs Cavendish - I'm thinking that Trebol has some swordsman type skills with his staff mixed with his devil fruit of course. This will be a great challenge for Cavendish.. itching to see some more Hakuba action.. please Oda.

A tag team would make Luffy look bad. Especially when he has yet to go all out.
Saying that Doula Mongo is too good for Luffy's arsenal is based on what? Luffy has already shown to be fast enough to see, react and dodge the strings when he saved Kyros. And he didn't even use CoA.
A way more likely scenario would be Law confronting Doula first, losing, and then Luffy takes over after dealing with somebody else.

You argued along with King Cannon that Doflamingo family wont fight Colossem fighters and now it seems that they simply will.
If you pick on wording and try to go into commenting on somebodys security as poster or not having it then it seems you might
have problem with it yourself as you are shown to be rather wrong few weeks ago and now you react like that.
So maybe look more into your own posting than others.
I've a feeling that Luffy would knock Law's lights out and fight Mingo on his own, a la
!
! if Law insists on interfering and whining like the 'marines' fanatics every week:ninja: , or that guy that thinks his thoughts are absolute and everybody who disagrees and points out his obvious faults is an enemy and should be banned if proven wrong after a decade lol!

I just argued on fighting each othere - Mingos family vs Colosseum fighters not about all of them winning.
I think that some of officers will fall there and some will go after Cav, Kyr, and Luf ending up fighting with Robin, Bartolomeo and Rebecca.
The Luffy/Law tag team against Doffy seems inevitable but I feel as though Luffy will fight first and then have Law jump in once he gets his cuffs off.
However people are seriously underestimating Luffy if they think Doflamingo is "too much" for him.
700+ chapters of Luffy beating the odds and you think that things are gonna somehow be different now? C'mon -_-
tbh i'm hoping next week we get law's flashback or confirm match ups we are moving super slow with the slow pace and those damn breaks

I wonder if people thought Crocodile was invincible too?
Oda hyping up the villian too much= Luffy is too weak and needs to tag team

If Doflamingo will be said to be on par with admirals later on(Law wanted him and Kaido to clash so Mingo even as destined to loose should not be far behind likes of Admiral) then tag team thing - if happens - should be forgiven.
If not(not on par with Admiral) then Mingo should get swift ass whooping form Luffy-Law team.

Law will lend a hand in the fight against Doffy, but only after he is beaten.
Something like: Luffy fights Doffy 1on1 and wins. Doffy regains consciousness and does desperate dirty sneak attack on Luffy who is weakened by there fight and can't dodge.
Law comes out of no where and gives Doffy the Vergo treatment.
Soon…
!
Or not !
I hope next time they show Sabo vs. Fuji he shows more of what he can do besides drop meteors it's getting lame
I can see Luffy getting a bit thrown off (not necessarily /losing/) by Doflamingo and Law's stepping in tipping the odds in Luffy's favor.
I'm mainly interested, however, in seeing how Sabo's battle proceeds. I feel as though he might not be able to best Fujitora just yet, considering he's still not accustomed to the mera mera no mi. I feel as though we've yet to see the full extent of Fujitora's powers, so I'm really excited to see how they handle that. The meteors are being a bit overdone, yeah, but the /idea/ of his fruit seems like it could hold more potential than we've seen so far.

I argued that a guy like Dellinger would end up having his final fight of the arc against someone like Bellamy or Barto.
That the Colosseum fighters (apart from ones like Cavendish and Chinjao) would probably end up mainly dealing with the 2000 regular members of the Donquixote family.
So far we've seen the Colosseum fighters smack the fodder around for a few chapters, and now for the most part have been one shotted by the Donquixote officers. So far I haven't been confirmed as being wrong about pretty much anything in this scenario.
The fact that Dellinger has already impaled two competitively weaker arena combatants actually kind of points in the direction of what I was saying.
He's been given a more prominent role than the majority of the Donquixote officers, and has a specific score to settle with Bellamy/Barto. I'd still find it strange if Blue Gilly was the one to take him down. I already made distinctions between certain Colosseum fighters, namely Cavendish and Chinjao…I just didn't think (and still don't really think) that Blue Gilly falls into that kind of category.
At no point did I say it was impossible lol.
That wasn't "picking on wording", that was me just pointing out that you were making stuff up to suit this image you like to paint of yourself as a guy who's constantly ganged up on by nasty posters.

I agree with you. I think at this point the gladiators that weren't focused on during the tournament have had enough time to get some development, at least enough for them to have some attachment. The ones that had more focus, Cavendish, Bartolomeo, Chinjao, and Bellamy will be focused on for the battles. I would be surprised if Koala at least didn't get a fight.

Exactly.
We've still got people like Kinemon and Kanjuro to reappear as well. Barto, Bellamy and Violet not matched up yet. Robin and Usopp still not locked into fights. More powerful and prominent arena combatants like Cavendish and Chinjao still around. Koala and Hack still kicking about.
This against a small number of Donquixote officers not matched up.
Doffy - Luffy
Diamante - Kyros (and Rebecca?)
Pica - Zoro
Trebol - ??? (my bet is on Cavendish)
Senor Pink - Franky
Dellinger - ??? (my bet is on Barto)
Machvise - ???
Baby 5 - ???
Lao G - ???
Gladius - ???
Jora - ???
I'm going to discount Sugar and Buffalo since they seem to be out of the equation as it stands.

Was it ever shown or said what happened to her? We know she ran away but did she ever come back. While it would be interesting to see her fight some more, she already got defeated, and her power seems to be much better for an ambush type of attack, like she did against the Sunny. Of course Baby 5 is going to fight again since we didn't get the full extent of her ability. While Buffalo was defeated, I don't know if he's incapacitated, so he could still fight, though he doesn't seem to be the type that can fight well by himself.
A tag team would make Luffy look bad.
Seriously? 13 chapters of various characters looking bad is not enough for you to consider that it might happen?
Regardless, things point out towards Law tagging along to fight Doflamingo. Also.

I think Baby 5 is just about the only Dofla pirate whose full extent we've actually seen. Don't know what else she could have at her disposal, aside from morphing into a nuke.

I'd just find it weird if Jora didn't turn up again tbh.
We saw her run away, and she must be more than well aware of what the presence of the birdcage and detoyification means. I'd find it strange if she didn't come back to help the family.
Then again, maybe she was outside the limits of the Birdcage when it was erected.

She kinda did, though it was more a rocket. I guess it's more what she can do by herself. We saw Buffalo use her, but that was about it. She might be able to turn separate parts of her body into weapons. I would like to see what else Buffalo is capable of, but this arc has been going on long enough. I've liked the arc a lot, but even I agree that it would be nice to get to a new arc since there is so much to see. I feel it would be best for the lower executives to have short fights, so the higher ups can have a bit of a longer fight so things won't drag out. I think at this point of the arc, it's either going to be considered to dragged out, or to short.

She is able to turn parts of her body into weapons. We saw her morph hands into sickles and there was a panel in which one of her fingers was a gun barrel.
I think it would be interesting to see her fight and her ability at work one on one, but as far as her fruit goes, I don't think there are any surprises. It's pretty straightforward. She can turn herself or her parts into weapon #1, weapon #2, weapon #3 etc…
He was also shown to not be fast to dogde strings and Doflamingo's fist… so yeah.
To be fair, that was more to do with the surprise puppet double team, rather than a distinct lack of speed.
I doubt Oda will have Luffy tag teaming against Doffy, considering this is basically his first real test in the New World.
Luffy's been pushing himself and overcoming odds in one on one match ups for the entire series. I can't see that changing now (well, in this particular scenario anyway).
Also, considering that Luffy will most likely be fighting a Yonko in the not too distant future, I doubt his growth will be tapered off in that kind of fashion.

It probably will be straight forward, but I always hold out because there have been fights I thought would be boring but turned out interesting in a few different series. Though she might team up with one other person just to make the fights go a little faster. We'll just have to wait and see, we might get a better idea with the next chapter.

I think it was also supposed to be somewhat of a gag scene, where Luffy is dumbfounded what happened and doesn't see the fist until it's in his face. I think some people are taking certain scenes to seriously.

I'm not sure it can be classed as a weapon, but this would be terrific with Baby 5's face on it.
Hum…maybe too terrific for One Piece...and gross...aaaaaaand forget it!

I would agree with you, if not for the fact that Oda has done some questionable things already…
I dunno. On the other hand, Doflamingo was shown to be quite an idiot when it comes to dealing with Luffy and Co., so who knows.

Altough I still think people overestimate the growth of Luffy and Straw Hats over timeskip.

Yeah, the way that Luffy's face was closeup smooshed and whatever had some comic undertones to it.
I wouldn't say it's a great basis for the setup of Luffy Vs. Doffy.

I'm not saying that Luffy has gotten so strong over the timeskip that this battle will be anything other than extremely difficult for him.
However, I do think that he'll win, and he'll defeat Doffy alone.
It would really kind of invalidate the timeskip if Luffy were to fail his first real test after it.

It might not have been a gag, I have to reread the chapter to get a better idea, but I usually wait until an arc is over to reread stuff of that particular arc. I can't tell you what to do, but it might help to not take every scene so seriously. Though in your case, you seem to have a lot of problems with how things have gone recently, so ignoring some stuff probably won't help a whole lot. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't believe everyone is strong enough to be able to take on a Yonkou crew at this point. I think Luffy is strong enough to take on Doflamingo by himself, but it will be a tough battle. I think the point for this arc, and the next few, especially if they are smaller arcs, are to take on stronger opponents and hone his haki skills. I have a feeling the first Yonkou that will be taken down will be a group effort, probably Big Mom, and it won't be the end where Luffy takes one on by himself.
I think this move was funny :
!
But Doffy was clearly trying to kill Luffy with serious techniques. No gag there.
