In theory you could just replace the hard drive… but the other problems definitely sound like issues that require either a repair or another system lol
-
Buuhan, if it was REALLY that easy, don't you think the entire ps1 and ps2 libraries would be online by now? Not to mention say, classic sega saturn games?
There's a process sure, but its not 100% automated. Especially when it comes to dealing with memory cards or disk changes and whatnot.
PS1 games emulated with no problem just because they were so old the system could flat out run them,. PS2 used different hardware that just has to be whole cloth emulated. And the ps3 CAN do that, but its not automatic or easy depending on the game and how it utilized stuff.
-
Well, let's not get too carried away with saying that the entire PS1/PS2 library would be posted immediately considering external factors such as licensing issues of getting the games onto the online shop coming into play (such as, let's say, potentially Suikoden III, for example), but the point is true. If it were so easy to emulate, then a pretty large number of games would still be able to make it no trouble.
http://www.pshomebrew.net/wiki/PS2_Classics_Emulator_Compatibility_List
While you may have many games in the green right here, the fact that there are so many unplayable - heavy issues - major issues - minor issues games is demonstrative that the classics emulator still isn't completely up to snuff, and really they can't just shove out games by the bucketload with that level of presentation. It is a pretty significant percentage of the games, so just "turning the switch on" really wouldn't suffice for PS2 games necessarily.
-
If it runs perfectly fine, why ISN'T Dragon Force on the PSN? One of the major Saturn games I'd like to have again. ALogn with Nights (Now available, but its the only one…) Burning Rangers, Magic Knights Rayearth, Guardian Heroes, and the Panzer Dragoons (which they... lost the code to...)
Most of the other Saturn games I love have had better sequels or similar games since then, but there's a handful I'd really like to go at again...
-
its sad not much except the popular series made it to classics because I still wish they put the Legaia series from PS1 and Ps2 up for digital download
decided not to get a ps3 for the time being after hearing negative reviews on the 500GB super slim PS3s due to the way the discs load and im getting the Sentry gaming bags instead
-
….do you travel often or something? and is that a possible reason why it's not working well?
-
I travel to a friends 1-3 days a week and the backpack i currently own, i have to stuff the wires in behind the ps3 and controllers, plus i would be using it for vacations
..only reason im keeping my 149GB system is the freezing hasn't happened lately so it seems it might be a rare issue..and the black line issue disappeared -
I have a super slim (replaced my old fat model) and the disk loading method doesn't bother me. I never travel around with it, though

5$ Mortal kombat '09? PSN flash sales, you will break me one day…Goddammit, could've saved 20$ on Guacamelee and Darksiders if I'd waited it out

Demon's Souls is a great game from what I hear, correct?
What type of game is it? Like, does the game have more of an emphasis on combat? Cause I bought it I think at least 1 year ago, but haven't got around to fully playing it yet.

It's a game focused on you dying.
A lot.
Heavy combat emphasis, but a lot of the game is learning how and where to dodge as well, brute forcing every enemy won't get you very far.
-
Just get it. It's definitively worth it.
-
^ I already have it, haha. I just haven't gotten around to playing it, but I will after I finish OoT.
Anyway, I predict that this E3, the PS4 will win the generation.
- Sony recently trademarked "Arc the Lad", the classic PS1 RPG series. That might not be the only PS1 classic that's coming back.
- Uncharted 4
- Assuming Final Fantasy XV gets shown, that will be huge (especially since FF is associated with the PS4)
- Destiny has an exclusive marketing campaign and exclusive content with the PS4. (The PS4 has much more positive reception, that's why it will make a difference, compared to COD on the Xbone.)
- Project Morpheus
- Project Beast (details)
- The other teams' games
- Tlou and GTA V ports
- (The Last Guardian?)
-
If they someone would bring me a remake of Legend of Dragoon or a sequel, I would cry like a groupie during a Justin Bieber show…
But TLOU remaster, Project Beast, FFXV (If SE don't fuck it up as XIII) and Uncharted 4 are more than enough for me.
Still want to see more from Order 1886 as well
-
I hope FFXV gives you the ability to literally put off the story by doing sidequests/mini-games/grinding. (e.g. FFVIII, playing cards and refining them can give you the ability to max out characters on the first damn disc. And it's fun as hell.) Allowing that gives the feel of non-linearity. So, do that, plus have a good and/or charming story and cast, and we're good to go. Hell, that's why out of three that I've played extensively (FFVIII, FFX, and FFXIII), I easily enjoyed Final Fantasy VIII the most. Squall's character arc was interesting to me a lot, even though the rest of the plot was… well, meh.
That's what makes Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy to me. (though this is probably subject to change.)
-
Well FF VIII is hated or loved… Personally I loved it and damn Lion Hart limit break is still my all time favourite... But the battle system is really broken
Personally I love IX after replaying it the most

Oh man I'd totally get Valkyria Chronicles trilogy.

But oh well first I guess I need to save up for a ps4 of my own.Well I know what game will NOT be localized for the PS4 library. Such a shame too. And if it ever does come over, hopefully Sega will market it a whole lot better, but who am I shitting?
-
Oh, what's this? A beloved franchise which is considered "niche" in the West is getting a new release? Oh, and it's a Sega property? Ho boy, can't wait till I'll be playing that in English!
EDIT: It's fake. A random 2channer posted it with no source, no one believed him, the thread was deleted. The guy on NeoGAF posted an archive of it and 2ch is now mocking him for starting a thread on GAF about it.
-
Oh well now I'm just sad…
!
-
And you just posted a picture with Isara in it, so I'm sad now too.

Take with a grain of salt (sorry if it has been posted):

Don't remember if you have a Vita or not, but it's pretty cheap on PSN.

No localization for the 3rd one although that's not a problem with sony system being generally region free. Yeah I played around with the thought of getting the second one a lot of times but for some reason it happened yet. Life.:getlost:

You're only the second person I've ever seen call VC2 fantastic. The majority goes the opposite side of the spectrum and calls it crap. I bought it years ago but never played it as I ultimately got spoiled near the end of the first one and lost motivation in the series. Strategy aren't really my cup of tea but I was drawn to VC due to its artstyle and boy… is actually playing it intense. I've had some of my best "YES!" moments playing a game playing the first VC, but boy when you do end up losing a round it fucking HURTS especially later on when battles take up to an hour or more.
The third was never localized but a fan effort of translating it finally made a release a few months ago and it seems pretty solid. You gotta hack your PSP or Vita tho to use it.

Solid to very good MetaScore, generally very positive User Reviews…For once, I think I'm more in the mainstream on this opinion.
It certainly has its problems, mostly owing to the limitations of the platform. The multiple-field missions really exacerbate that VC1 problem of having the second half of the battle be completely different from the setup you selected for the second half, since a new map can have all kinds of environmental hazards and enemy types that you had no reason to expect. But in terms of customization, pick-up-and-play, and mission variety, I'd put it ahead of the original. I even enjoyed the story quite a bit, though that might be an area in which I'm in the minority.

Not really a big deal. Elder Scrolls Online is already out on PC, this is just the console versions that's been delayed. As for Dying Light… it's really not being put in any danger with being delayed.

Hopefully the new Xbox One cut will encourage an even more competitive price for the PS4. I know it's unlikely but it'd be a welcome move seeing as I'm currently waiting for one of two things to happen before I get a PS4; either a price drop or the release of Destiny.

Is it still competitive pricing if one device is selling for 50-100 dollars cheaper than the other device?

Does same for me this also isn't the only thread that does it. it seems harmless tho so I wouldn't think much of it

Lol. so much for "developers will KNOW the kinect is in every system and so can confidently design for it!"
Peripheral is officially optional and dead now.

What is Demon's souls mang
I started off the game. I'm still trying to shake off the OoT gameplay, but I'm pretty much getting used to the combat very well (I need to work on L2 blocking though).
Anyway, I started off in the tutorial section, did fine by my own, then that boss… he just kiled me easily like that.
So I got sent to the Nexus, then Boletarian paalce. It was going okay, I made halfway through. But it was only going "okay" because the thing freaking starts you at the very beginning of the damn level when you die. Like what the heck? What's that all about?
And why is the loading long whenever you die? Is it not the same area?!
But I might as well get used to it.
-
If it didn't start you at the very beginning, then the appeal of the franchise wouldn't be the same.
The thrill lies in beating the a section despite the odds and difficulty. You are on the edge of your seat, not wanting to mess up, and it's frustrating to mess up, but even better to succeed.
I wouldn't say the game itself becomes easier but you do get used to the rhythm, become more cautious and so on. Figuring out how an enemy attacks.
-
Strange how I've never heard of this game unti now.
Now if Square-Enix (on a somewhat unrelated note) would get off their humps and do a remake of Live A Live preferably for the Vita that'd I'd like.

The Full translation of FF - Type 0 has finally been released!
EDIT: LMAO,
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Coming to PS VitaA day after the Fan translation xD
