@kouch_lee:
I know I need to re-read this manga, but. . .isn't the concept behind "the idea of evil" that it was created by the thoughts of mankind itself?
So, I might be totally wrong in this, but no mankind = no more "negative" thoughts = no more "idea of evil"?? Or once it's been created, it doesn't need mankind anymore for its existence?
I'd think these fuckers need mankind to exist, even if it is in a living hell full of rapist trolls, murdering orcs and psychokiller elves. Also, the Apostles do eat humans, so there's that too, right?
(Also, so far it seems the God Hand has done EVERYTHING to favor Griffith's wishes. Maybe it's a tradition among them to be very kind to the newbies, but it seems like he's even super special among the already super special God Hand. The anti-christ, basically.)
Yeah, Griffith has got everything he wanted, but at the same time, the Idea of Evil weaved the entire series of events to build Griffith to the person he is, so while he may be "free to choose" as he sees fit, he was also kinda crafted into the position that they need him for, which is to lead mankind to this sorta thing. Maybe he gets a stake in this concerning his kingdom later on. He's obviously a pretty useful guy because of his natural charisma.
Plus, when they do these sorts of rituals, there tends to be more than just killing people all willy-nilly. Usually there's something big that gets produced out of it, whether it be Griffith's reincarnation, the creation of an apostle or God Hand, or otherwise. I'm sure there's something being plotted, but as with everything else, we'll just have to see what exactly is otherwise behind the curtains. There's also the prospect of all of humanity otherwise swimming in a vat of despair and hatred following death.
Needless to say, this is all just speculation, but there almost certainly has to be something that the god hand want by having the literal antichrist come and lead all of humanity to a single place. But I'm supposing it will all be revealed in due time… or much later than that considering the pace we're going at.
