Dandy was super, super dandy.
I hope we see her again!

I want to go to Boobies
You can visit the actual chain it's based on

I need space boobies, sometimes two tits are not enough
So those aliens were speaking through Gogol translate? LOL
! THE MOON BOMB WILL EVERYTHING.
Oh and I think the insert song is by Tatsuro Yamashita, who did the Summer Wars ending (Bokura no Natsu no Yume). Really digging the voice.
Next episode's a literally space race, huh? Those are always fun, especially with Dandy being a dead ringer for the Redline guy.
I love this show, so much. I'm going to rather enjoy the space race episode. I get the feeling it's going to be almost a nostalgic call back to speed racer, maybe that's just wishful thinking. Either way you can't go wrong with a space race and boobies.
This week's episode was glorious.
The episode's ending scene was amazing.
That episode was either the greatest thing I've ever seen, or a stupid marathon of dumb aliens obsessed with undies.
It's funny how slim the difference can be sometimes.
The whole thing was very Dr. Seuss.
It was pretty much a blend of Star Trek and Gulliver's Travels with a Star Wars reference tossed in for good measure.
Y'know, I hadn't really been sold on the series up to this point but I really enjoyed this week's episode. Especially the ending scene. Looking forward to more like it.
Episode 5 has been the best episode so far…
A space race is dangerous, baby!
Funny episode. I'm really digging how there is no continuity between the end of one episode and the beginning of the next.
At first I was expecting something more similar to Cowboy Bebop and hoped for some serious chapters mixed with the comic ones, but right now I'm happy how the series works (except for the cat, I hate the cat)
It wont be one for the history books like Cowboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo though…
Oh god, Checkers song reference. So 80s.
Dandy used the lyrics from Lullaby of Jaded Heart. My youth.

Give it a chance, baldy. We have yet to see all that Dandy is capable of.
edit: I hear ya, though. Not in love with the Betelgeusian.
My god! The 7th was a good homage to Wacky Races.
! Space Darstadly won for once and by reaching Nirvana nonetheless
There have been a few good episodes since I last commented here. 4, 5 and 7 were all very solid. If the whole series was like that, then I wouldn't complain. I'm hoping this means the show's getting on track. I want it to be great so badly, since art-wise it's one of the (if not the) best-drawn anime on the market.
I'm sure a lot of people were confused with the last scene.
It was a straight up parody of the last scene in Ankoku Shinwa (The Dark Mythology) by Morohoshi Daijrou.
The protagonist became a Buddha in space 5.67 billion years in the future.

Have I told you recently how glad I am you explain these things? Really makes a difference.
As someone who adores horrible 80s/90s anime OVAs I have to watch this. It sounds wonderfully awful.
I agree with Cyclone as well, the references in Kill la Kill or Space dandy can be quite subtle and without the proper background you are sometimes a bit lost.
!
^ This is some
! excellent crossover fanart!

I see, thanks for the aclaration. Great episode nonetheless.
The feels… It was a cute dog and an interesting reference to the Canine Cosmonaut.
I chuckled at the translator saying "woof woof".
Episode was a bit disjointed. It would have been great if the dog plot took the entire episode. It's really awkward when you move from somber to silly in a matter of minutes.
Yeah, true. Still, I liked the ridiculous ending.
The first half was pretty emotional, that music… The second half felt a bit "what?", pretty weird stuff.
The mood whiplash was quite disorienting but yeah still didn't detract much from the first half's feels. ;__;
Also, since pretty much everyone is latching onto the alternate universes theory the series has but how about possible Buddhist references:

Did you read the previous page of this thread?
That article linked doesn't seem to be aware that the scene was a direct parody, down to the fine details, of the last page to an existing buddhism-shounen-battle manga from the 70s.
Oh right, the parody part.
headdesks
I don't know about you all, but every time I hear that rising synthesizer in the Intro, I get excited for some dandy space adventures.
This show is awesome.
Man, the incredibly variable quality of this show astounds me. I'm glad I keep watching, because last night's episode was a gem. Fuck, I would have watched an entire movie exploring the history and culture of Planta. The little we got was really cool and the art was beautiful.
Variable as the quality of this show is, I feel like it's increasing on average. Hopefully it will hit a more consistent stride soon. Any word on how long this series is supposed to be?
This episode was very interesting and I totally agree with Wag that even a movie-length version would have been awesome!
Though I'm a little confused about why Code D just vanished like that at the end. Did it fall to the center of the planet or something?
edit: I'll be honest, I thought that it was going to be some kind of gag where Code D was like a cosmo-turd or something like that, since they were saying that it smelled so bad but was also the source of their growth.
That was one beautiful episode. Cute and psicodelic at the same time.
Certainly the series is picking up, but its still too irregular. It seems that for each good chapter there is another a bit so-so.
Is this what being high is like?
More like an acid trip in a botanical garden.
Was that plant scientist voiced by the guy who also plays Tamago?
Masaaki Yuasa's key animator worked on this, alright.
And I hear that Yuasa himself will be involved in a future episode, so we aren't done tripping yet!
Man someone was on acid when they animated this
does a happy dance
This is great news!
I expected it to be about 25 episodes, but was worried when I heard it may be only 13. Thank goodness the fun won't stop
Very nice news to hear.
The shot of the plants just basking in the sun and photosynthesizing in the last episode was one of my favorite sequences in the show so far.
Holy fuck I just burst out laughing at this. She's actually…
! Ahem.
The time loop reminded me of All You Need is Kill, only it took them 108 loops to fully realize it lol
