OK. THIS was a good episode.

! Rarity's country accent, Apple Jack in one of Rarity's dresses, all those faces. I couldn't stop laughing most of the time.

Can't wait for the next one.

! The first 10-15 minutes were pretty basic, I thought. But those last 5 minutes with the Rarity/Applejack face off was great.
! Also, Trenderhoof has an argyle pattern for a cutie mark. LOL

! Hmm….I was honestly a little surprised by the episode's description. But alas.....I was expecting our character of the week to be a little less posh, but he was just....there. Although it was funny how much he focused on Applejack, and Rarity on him, and AJ was just "umm.....okay?" Poor Spike, getting friendzoned.
! But the highlight was easily Applejack and Rarity switching personalities. Classic!

That was definitely a good episode, although I was disappointed that Trenderhoof wasn't as fun as I had hoped. The Rarity episodes this season are making up for the lack of them last season.

Rarity also gets the prize for the best line in the episode:

Not that there's any rush since we're only halfway through the season and already four of them have their keys.

Though, truth be told, I'm still a little iffy about Fluttershy's since it's not really an "item" and, unlike the others, it wasn't directly given to her by somepony else.

Yeah, Fluttershy's fang doesn't really count IMO. So far, all of the item bearers so far have had a 'rainbow eyes' moment in their key episodes.

Plus, all of the key episodes so far have had the ponies names in the titles. (RARITY takes manehattan, RAINBOW falls, PINKIE pride)
There's an episode this season called Twilight Time, so i think we can assume this trend will continue for all of them.

! Loved the songs and they brought back Flutterguy. Was stunned at Big Mac singing near the beginning. Such a cool episode.

So weird that this season has continuity. Fluttershy mentions getting a chance to see these things in one episode… a few episodes later she does.

I mean, there was loose continuity before, like the semi-buildup to the Gala in season 1, or the one with spike and the pets taking place the same time as a seperate episode, callbacks to earlier episodes (New characters introduced in the order they appear)... but this entire season is just subtly tying together. Between the games, the ongoing rainbow plot, and the little stuff. Its neat.

So anyway, today's episode…

! With the title "Filli Vanilli" I thought Fluttershy and/or the Ponytones would get in trouble once she was revealed.
! Regardless, I thought this was definitely one of the better episodes of the season. The return of Flutterguy and the Big Mac stuff was pretty great. And, as oddly provocative as she was this episode, Pinkie Pie was still really entertaining.
! Also, how many times have we had a song in a cold opening? I count this and Magical Mystery Cure.

! Still, though…....an extremely catchy main musical piece, and the hilarity of having a deep voice for Fluttershy again? (it was named in-universe???). Awesome. Also glad to see Big Mac getting more lines of dialouge then just "ayup", even if Fluttershy technically took over later on.
! I really found myself smiling as she got more and more into singing the songs. Endearing episode overall.

! yay flutter shy! :D Big Mac was great too xD it definitely wasn't my favorite but I felt that I could relate to it. Fluttershy reminded me of how I felt in 6th or 7th grade when I had my first complete solo performance for my school's concert. It was a nice reminder of where I began in music :) the facial expressions were adorable too :3

This definitely my favourite Fluttershy episode now; man, they really like doing weird things to her this season. Also enjoyed the episode continuity from Bridle Gossip with the Poison Joke Flower.

So today I finished up Season 1, and yeah, if it wasn't official before, it is now. I've gone fully brony. :P About the episode in question, The Best Night Ever, I must say that I really amusing watching Fluttershy completely lose her shit. She's my second favourite of the pony, just by sheer cuteness alone. And my #1? Well, that should be pretty obvious.

Anyway, I was wondering now that I've come to a checkpoint in the series…should I keep going or switch back and forth between seasons of Adventure Time? I ask this because I'm the type that finds it a bit overwhelming to juggle multiple ongoing series at the same time. That, and I've been interested in watching Attack on Titan for quite some time. Any advice would be appreciated.

Season 2 is jam packed with high quality episodes, so it's difficult for me to condone putting it off.
But Adventure Time and Attack On Titan are also good in their own rights.

Just so you know though (while being as vague as possible to avoid spoilers); in season 2 you can expect world/history building,
more ponies losing their shit, holiday episodes, some of the fandom's all time favourite songs, and an epic season finale.
There's certainly a good reason that many people consider it the best overall season.

Ah hell no. The Sea Ponies are ominous and disturbing little demons plucked from the deepest, darkest pits of nightmares. I cannot listen to Call Upon the Sea Ponies without falling pray to a spasm of violent cringes.
