VA Bastille maybe?
He might surprise I few people. But I've got this bad feeling he's going to be 1HKO by someone. Am not holding my breath that he'll do anything note worthy but you never know.

Not the most Disappointing thing but disappointing.
Does Oda draw peoples back? I've been seeing Doflamingo just having the typical straight upperbody. It just looks wierd as it's parallel. I don't understand how someone like Doflamingo has a good chest an abs and no back. It should be V shape. I think that would make him look better.
Whitebeard had a good muscular body, very detailed from Oda.

So much this.
I don't think anyone in One Piece has back or leg muscles (except Blue Gilly :ninja:)

Did you see Picas legs? Unless Oda is portraying the boring parts to train haha
I was disappointed In the way thriller bark ended, if only Moriah hadn't absorbed all the shadows he would have beaten the SH, and yes before anyone says anything I know for the plot to continue it required him to take all the shadows in. But still did he have to take them all in why not just half of them oh well.

He was at Marineford along with the most experienced and stronger Vice Admirals. Was in one panel showing them all. I'd say he'd give Zoro a pretty good fight.

I would like to believe that I just can't see that happening.

Well there was a filler with Momonga and they were fighting pretty evenly. Yeah it's non canon but Oda wouldn't let Toei contradict the story if he could easily beat someone like Momonga. Seeing the other VAs from the same panel like Doberman, Stainless, Onigumo and Dalmatian, they were pretty good in the war and played a nice role.
You have the weaker VAs (Maynard, Smoker) and the stronger (Bastille, Momonga, Stainless, Onigumo, Doberman)

I wouldn't underestimate the stupidity of Toei long time ago they Zoro cutting steel before he learnt it in the manga, back on topic I would love Bastille to have a good fight maybe with Koala.

If he hadn't, then Luffy would have just defeated him and all of the shadows would have returned anyway.

How luffy would of had to make him give the command I really couldn't see him doing that and certainly not within the 5 minutes before sunrise.

+1
And for Bastille I really don't have any expectation for him, I'd say he is as strong as Dalmatian, but less stronger than veterans like the 5 admirals from buster call, and commander of governmental bases in NW world like Vergo/Komil…

Well Bastile is a giant he might be older and he more experience than all those VA put together.
I wish characters would die in one piece it would add a real sense of danger to the plot. Can you imagine if one of the straw hats died ?

if it ain't broke don't fix it.
That's too much like Zoro loosing to Mihawk. I guess it's sort of a no-win situation, but the Straw Hats failing would sort of trample over the point of the timeskip. If Zoro looses again, that means he promised and trained for nothing. If a crew member dies, then we would be right back where we started before the timeskip.
Zoro did get knock out by the brothers. And failing isn't what would the timeskip pointless it is how it does. Zoro get KO by the brothers but thanks to that he briefly take the new world seriously. It would have been the same with Chopper except it would be permanently.

@kuma:
We haven't really seen any strong giants in One Piece, yes Dorry and Brogy were strong but I wouldn't say they were top tier. little Oars jr the poor bastard was brutally taken out by 3 shichibukai so we never got to see him go all out. John Giant, Ronse and Hajrudin were just canon fodder.
John Giant is a Vice Admiral so he count as strong.

well according to one of the datebooks he is, but we found out with Sabo that the datebooks are a load of shit so yeah I don'tt think he's a giant too.

Vice-Admirals are renowned for being geat hype material. It isn't Tashigi's dream job for nothing. So it is pretty normal that people worries about Bastille.

Sigh…
I really want marines to be actual threat and not mop up crew for Straw Hats... Come on, Oda, this is such a wonderful setup. Have Fujitora and Bastille massacre Doflamingos Family and show us that Jimbei's claims about Marine HQ being stronger then ever were not empty words, I beg of you!
I'm getting reminded of that line of Sengoku at the end of Strong World. "We were totaly useless" or something like that. HQ run by Akainu should be a threat.

Don't worry about Fujitora. Admirals know how to be impressive. Even Kuzan took that class and we know how lazy he is.
Databook but yeah i'm not sure but databook
it was stated in deep blue databook, but greg said it was one of the many mistakes that databook has. Bastille is clearly not a giant.
the flying Dutchmen been captained by Van der decken, what a waste it should have gone to someone much stronger.
@kuma:

That part is definitely broken. The sense of danger most of the time in the series is non-existant, despite the good storytelling behind it.
You should try something more difficult guys.
Like having Akainu as a favorite character of the series… Now, that's hard. Speaking from experience.
I actually like really much Akainu, even though my favourite char is Marco.
I've said it one and I'll say it again, we need strong giants and we need more Viking themed pirates too, can never have enough of them.
Usopp returning he should of left the crew for good and started his own crew. I would have loved to see him become captain Usopp and fight Luffy for the one piece later on in the series.

I agree, that's one reason I've liked a certain fanart of an older "Greybeard" Usopp/Sogeking as it looks Viking inspired

I don't think it would trample the time skip at all. I hate how they took a 2 year break off screen and became invincible. I don't feel at all anxious when they fight people or have problems because the time skip made them invulnerable to everything. I don't mean for Chopper to be like "I'M NEVER GONNA LOSE A PATIENT AGAIN", I just want some sort of reflection on his part… like maybe a reminder of why he needs to achieve this dream of his he's never bothered to mention in 10 years? Because every medical emergency has been totally averted which makes me think he doesn't even need this miracle cure.
A Straw Hat dying, I can see your skepticism. Killing off major characters is always risky in any sort of series. Maybe he shouldn't kill off someone now at this moment, but I think he could definitely have given us a death before. Like during Sabaody, Thriller Bark (end with Kuma). It kinda steers some excitement away in a sense because we all know that every one of the SHs will live to fulfill their goal. Which makes us readers perceive every fight and conflict less risky and their dreams realized less climatic. That's the way I see it. I just want a "dreams sometimes don't come true" or a "I need to work even harder for this" or more likely a "if I don't work this hard, I could lose my dream or even my life".
Kinda hard to explain but I hope you get what I was trying to say.

I agree that it was sort of wasted on someone who basically played second fiddle to an already not-that-stellar antagonist.

Blackbeard is awesome. The DenDen Mushi scene from a few chapters ago was priceless!
"Yo Straw Hat! See this moron here who is whinnying like a horse? That's my boy Burgess! And if he eats the Mera Mera no Mi it will be as if ACE joined my crew!" LOL.
He was sort of irritating pre TS, but it seems he is going full douche mode now. Love it.
Did Teach seriously call Jesus a moron ? :ninja:

Agree, robin was so badass before and now her character has kinda cooled down. She hasnt had any serious fight or opportunity to prove herself. Hope now in dressrosa she gets a good rival and goes badass again
I'm pretty disappointed about Sanji not bleeding out after getting stabbed by Absalom during Thriller Bark but he almost died during Fishman Island arc with a nose bleed :getlost: Also, idk why Jora doesn't have any slash wounds after getting owned by Brook.
You should try something more difficult guys.

there are "general marines" and "world government" fans too for some reason.

Robin was a badass. Her character development reminds me of Piccolo he was a badass than later he became Trunks and Goten's babysitter.
Sanji's nosebleed and his development
The entire fisherman arch
Pell's surviving
The pointless fan service creeping in
Robin's evolution
Luffy resembling roger more and more
Frankys "humor"

Who doesn't love a magma terminator fueled by a healthy diet of justice?
So far, the dwarves have been extremely disappointing. They all share a monochromatic personality, and are all highly forgettable characters. I hope Norland's involvement in their history, and Manshelly rectify the Dwarves as a species.
Boa Hancock still been in the shichibukai the WG are a bit of a thick bunch.
Maybe they feel they have lost too many Shichibukai as of late, and want to save face.

That was more a reference to the fact that that's her excuse for no one questioning her. It's the reason she's still in the Shichibukai despite helping Luffy during the war.

She openly attacked the marines she should have had her tittle revoked the WG are just been stupid to keep her as shichibukai.

She only attacked a few fodder marines and Smoker. The fodder marines can genuinely be dismissed with the beautiful excuse: we've seen numerous times that they do whatever she says. And messing with Smoker is apparently fair game for the Shichibukai since Doflamingo, Crocodile and Law did it too. Crocodile lost his position for his actions against Alabasta, but I reckon if it was just messing with Smoker he would have gotten away with it.

Well she did a bit more than attack Smoker she also attacked Sentoumaru and destroyed a few pacifista' she was also seen helping luffy that should be enough to strip her off her title. When DD and Crocodile attacked Smoker at least they had the good grace not to do it in Marine HQ.
Momonosuke not being voiced by eddie murphy.
That just shattered my life.

Yeah I honestly expected them to kick her! Or at least have some kind of penalty! :getlost:
