No, it's not "too early"; the big 3 are already out.

Toriko 262 Chinese Scans
http://www.mangabird.com/toriko-262?page=0 -
! Midora wants the D.
-
-
Script is out!
http://mangahelpers.com/t/kewl0210/releases/39202 -
! So all the guys from both Bishokukai and IGO aren't actually traitors but actually mind controlled like Teppei?
-
! The guys from NEO that were Bishokukai, yeah
-
! Komatsu is gonna have a biggest herem of any series if this keeps up
-
! It really feels rushed as hell that Midora would suddenly show a more human side after tasting Komatsu's cooking for the first time.
-
@choperman: I thought that was the plot of this manga?
-
! It really feels rushed as hell that Midora would suddenly show a more human side after tasting Komatsu's cooking for the first time.
! Actually his human side has been shown for quite a while now so it's not unexpected at all.
-
It's getting even more ridiculous now.
-
! and another sweaty shirtless guy joins komatsus harem
-
! At the same time his physique changed so did his demeanor. The Komatsu from earlier arcs would be crying and begging on his knees if he was there.
-
! Oh come on, Midora. Really? The Century soup did nothing, heck everything else did nothing but some komatsu dish made from leftovers will make you happy?
! Too bad ichiryou is dead or he could join the harem too.
at least jirou probably won't since he doesn't care about much and isn't likely to have any reasons to eat komatsu's food. -

at least jirou probably won't since he doesn't care about much and isn't likely to have any reasons to eat komatsu's food.! Remember the event's going on after Buranchi took Komatsu and they went to get the remaining food: they started glowing, they were wanting to be picked. This made the food even better tasting, so don't think it's only some scrap food lying around: being picked by a top chef brings out the very best in them. Also, I think the situation itself is also a reason why Midora is laughing. All these kidnapped topchefs, yet this small guy is brave enough to step up to Midora, boss of the enemy who almost killed his partner and friends. Without hesitation. I think that is what Midora wants most (as you can also see in the flashback): food made out of love without any doubt. So it makes perfect sense taking everything together.

! But IT IS scrap food lying around. All the good ones were taken. Cooking, ingredient happiness and food luck should only get you so far. Certainly not as far as something MIDORA would enjoy.
-
! Well, certainly it was enough for Komatsu to please Midora´s stomach and cells, as it was canonically proven in the manga
-
! Something tells me you are wrong Alfaro.
Also, the hideout looks like a spermatozoon. -

! Your looking at what will be the best chef. Who improved medicinal cooking mochi(sp) in a very short time to make it easy to cook and add taste. Komatsu is due to have amazing cooking feats. He probably would've even stood a good chance in the cooking competitions before the kidnappings from what we see. You also forgot to add food honor and hearing ingredients.

Chapter 262 is up now.
http://www.batoto.net/read/_/212663/toriko_ch262_by_hi-wa-mata-noboru -
the chapter was so freaking awesome. Midora is becoming a really cool person.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
How are the guys still maintaining their balance and all when the Bishoukukai building planked like that?
-
I'm actually OK with Midora's welcome to Komatsu's dinner. I was not with Komatsu's other feats but I'm fine with this. Komatsu, is very much like Frohze, does like to share and cook for all people whether good or bad who is hungry. This gives him a quality, ingredients know it too, we do too knowing he can hear voice of the ingredients. So whatever the ingredient his way of cooking should give some kind of flavor to ingredients which no one around is familiar with more than Midora -and searchs for it. So Midora adoring Komatsu's food really is what should be in my point of view.
I would be outrageous at Midora doing this after Ichiryuu's death though. But the same goes for Toriko's reaction too… Well i guess that should be expected from a guy who is slave to his appetite. And... By logic, shouldn't Komatsu's meals bring an end to it too? Midora wasn't like that when he used to eat from Frohze. If my theory up there is true, although not solve his problems in one go, i think Midora has to feel more relieved now don't you think?
And Alfaro's comment on the traitors are confusing indeed.
-
Heart warming chapter. It was nice to see Midora smiling and laughing heartily for a change. I had his character pegged all wrong.
-
I've never been much of a fan of either Midora or Komatsu, but this chapter put things in to perspective. I think Komatsu's character has grown miles from what he used to be, and I'm starting to take a liking to him. Also Midora seems to be a lot more interesting character after the flashback and this chapter.
Now to wait if Toriko pulls his shit together and comes to pick Komatsu up so they can venture in to Gourmet World, and towards new adventures, which in my opinion along the fights is the best part in Toriko.
-
To think, Midora is THE most emotionally-driven character in the whole series. He gets pissed off, he cries like a baby and he laughs like a madman.
And I still cant get use to komatsu's nose. It's… off putting somehow. -
"We shining now." - Komatsu
-
No way. I can't be the only one that thought "Really, Komatsu? You're going to play princess Peach. . .WILLINGLY???".
It's ok, their bonds are so strong, good. But. . .why not save your best friend and most precious person in the world the, you know, trouble of going to the enemy's lair to rescue you? Hell, he might, I don't know, DIE during the process. . .
I mean, it's like Komatsu is puting Toriko through a test or something to test his love. "You love me, huh? Really? Ok, I won't believe it until you rescue me from Midora's grasp. He could let me go and that would ease your current mentally scarred state, but nope. You gotta prove your love to me!"
"All right, look Nico Robin, you can go home. Your courage and tenacity has warmed my heart. Go back to your friends." "No way Spandam, I want some more punishment! That alone won't do! I've been a bad girl and I want some more heavy spanking! And, regardless, that man will save me, no matter what! I trust him! Luffy!".
-

Dude, tell me about it, I was bashing my head against my desk at how stupid this is and NOT in a good way. At best, it makes Komatsu look like an idiot and at worst a self-entitled attention seeking douchebag. It also completely undermines the "epic" rescue arc we'll be getting because from now on, whenever we see Toriko and co get brutalized by the Bishoukai, no matter what developments occur, when we see all the trials and tribulations and the blood and sweat and tears that our protagonists go through to save Komatsu, the underlying thought will be ever present beating at our heads like a jackhammer "This could have all been avoided if Komatsu wasn't such a fucking idiot" ugh.
You know when Robin pulled this shit on the train, it's because she thought she was protecting the crew and had a death wish not because she wanted to be saved from Enies Lobby all Princess Peach like. And when she resolved to live, what did she do? She tried so hard to escape she almost broke her teeth on a bridge. That's tension, that's drama, something Toriko will be lacking from now on because everything that will happen from now on will be totally unnecessary.
-
How do you see komatsu going back on his own?
Is that the problem, though? That he has no means to go back, so Midora's promise is a trap in itself? I doubt it.
I don't want to say that it is implied, but the promise "you can go back home" probably includes, you know, taking them back home too? Or at least giving them a ride to the regular, human ground, instead of that flying. . .turd they call HQ?
If the reasoning behind that decision is that Komatsu can't go home cause he doesn't have the means so he disguises it as faux trust in Toriko, then it doesn't make the situation any better in my eyes, you know. . .
@Thousand:

True. I mean, you can save them the trouble of, probably, dying. Komatsu has seen first hand Toriko getting basically murdered and horribly mutilated by Star, if he trully loved Toriko as much as he says, then the first thing he'd be thinking right now is Toriko's safety and not having to go through that again. It should be Toriko insisting on fighting Star (and Midora too probably) and Komatsu shouting to him not to do it, worried sick about his health, not the other way around.
"Nami, we'll go back to Fishman Island, what we did here to you and your family is unforgivable. All of you are free to do as you like from now on. . ." "Ah, no no no. You stay here and enslave us some more! Not untill Luffy and co. come back you're allowed to leave! You will fight them and try to kill them with all you got!".
-
He could just…you know point that fact out to Midora in that case.
And Midora could be either "HAHA FOOLED YOU" or "oh sure, I'll give you a lift". Either way, he could have called him on it.
Either way the point is moot since Komatsu's dialogue and the way the scene was presented clearly indicated he was doing this for no other reason than he WANTED to be saved. What Shima was thinking writing such a tension destroying scene, I don't know. He thought it made their friendship look noble? But I think it makes it look twisted.
Toriko: What, you could have left if you wanted the whole time? The fuck, Komatsu!
Komatsu: But you had to SAVE me Toriko-san, you HAVE to be the one to save me...
-
You know what? I was about to buy it. I was all ready for some cheesy line like "no. I've noticed that you're not all that bad. I'll stay here and save you through the power of my cooking.". Or some Sanji like naivety like "no matter how twisted and rotten you are, you are hungry and no one is willing to cook for you, so I'll stay here and make sure you get to eat delicious food". Something like that, that makes Komatsu look like a saint. Cheesy as hell, but in line with many of Toriko's train of thoughts.
I'll stay here to test Toriko's love is wrong.
I hope next week Komatsu tries to justify himself in better and more sensitive ways than just. . .I wanna see how much Toriko loves me.
-
Stop being girly, Komatsu.
-
LMAO people don't like komatsu… And I kinda agree, komatsu is an antipathetic character, Always playing the little girl, It's in times like this that i hope komatsu was a girl at least I may (not sure) tolerate his "princess that want to be saved" personality.
I've always questioned myself why komatsu is not a strong character like setsuno? And I begin to think that maybe in the beginning of his manga the author was not planing to make cooks strong caracters...
-

Ok, that's not really the problem. . .gender has nothing to do with it. Little girl or grown up man, it's the behaviour that's wrong, not him acting on some pre-conceived gender role.
And Komatsu right now is leading a harem of grown up, muscled and sweaty manly men, so it's absurd to take Toriko(the manga) from an heterosexual pov.
-
Funnily enough, he is acting like one of those self-entitled Princess Peach types so had he been a girl, his terrible behavior would be even more obvious and more people might be calling bullshit on it. It is obscured by the fact that he's male because you don't see a lot of male characeters play that sort of role but that's what it is and it's just as awful. I mean this is like a self-destruct button for any respect you could have for a female character. And you know what, there's no reason why that shouldn't apply to males. So congratulations Komatsu, you're officially the worst character in Toriko. Rin has more dignity than you do and that's SAYING something.
-

I was not talking about this situation, which i thought that the author did this only for the sake of scenario, to make a meeting between Toriko and the killer of his benector (Ichiryu). I was talking about komatsu's girly personality that i can tolerate more if he was a girl, simply because i'm not really used to see a guy ALWAYS waiting for another guy to save him…
-
You could have asked to let one of the other chefs go, Komatsu.
-
I see two people here that keep coming back despite their interest towards the series is pretty much null, and jumping the bandwagon instead of waiting for future explanations that may solve their questions, or just wait for the next chapter. Is that really hard?
Apforums, indeed.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I still think Komatsu may be planning to let the other chefs escape.
-
You really don't understand what Komatsu thought process was at all…
He KNOWS how Toriko thinks. He KNOWS that Toriko is, right now, feeling bad for not being able to stop Komatsu from being taken. And he also KNOWS how important it is for Toriko to reactify that mistake himself. And he has faith that Toriko will be able to do it. He is doing this for Toriko's sake.
It's not about testing love, or fake tension or whatever. Its about Komatsu knowing what its best for Toriko and that he would prefer to reactify his failure by himself.
-

Many things wrong with your post.
1- I still read Toriko weekly, and I still respect this manga. That makes me as entitled as you to comment on it. What I focus to comment is MY choice, not yours. The fact that I'm NOT as interested on it as I was during the Ice Hell era is also my problem.
2- Future explanations are cool, I asked for one in one of the posts. And? We're discussing THIS chapter, or a future chapter? This one, right? And what did we get? We got Komatsu being given the choice of going home unharmed (he, Toriko and co, all of them unharmed) and his choice was to refuse BECAUSE (that means, his reason for acting like this is. . .) he'd wait for Toriko to come for him. That means he won't be moving from where he's at right now (Midora's lair) untill Toriko comes to save him. In this scenario, we have a choice and the reason for said choice. The only reason? I HOPE not, but for now, that's what we get. And it's wrong.
3- Stop taking this personally. I did my posts in a half-joking matter not to make things offensive cause I know how much most of you fiercely defend Toriko. Guess that wasn't enough? And that's ok, I defend One Piece fiercely too and when people do nothing but complain week after week I hate it too. But I'm quite certain this is a legit complain.
Also, this thread is pretty much all praise for Toriko and mostly everyone posting on it already rank Toriko as their favorite manga. Is it that bad if some rotten apples come here every once in a blue moon and complain a bit? It's good for the thread's health, really. I did it for the greater good.
-

Eh I didn't mention food honor and the ingredient's voice cos I consider those things as part of ingredient happiness.
I'm aware that Komastu's skill is really really high. But it's still stupid he can cook for the most gluttonous person in the world, who's probably a very picky eater using unwanted (read: low quality) ingredients and impress him when everyone (other than frohze) has failed to do so.
Also the spellcheck for "komatsu" gives some really amusing stuff.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Toriko and that he would prefer to reactify his failure by himself.
So komatsu expects toriko to rescue him from all of the remaining bishiokai, one of whom is midora?
there is no way toriko could pull off that kind of rescue alone, in any way that would make amends for his previous failure and win most of the potential fights along the way.
so if your theory is correct it would mean komatsu is being very very VERY stupid.
Yeah, I'm afraid I have to agree with what TLC said here.
-
And that's ok, I defend One Piece fiercely too and when people do nothing but complain week after week I hate it too. But I'm quite certain this is a legit complain.
Oh, so you're no different than me then, hahahaha. My bad, I mistook you for one of those who keep coming to the thread of a series they no longer had interest in.
As for the chapter, since the next one is the last of the arc I'm going to reserve my opinion until then.
-
I figured Komatsu wanted to stay because if everybody wasn't allowed to leave, then he wouldn't either (I doubt he'd abandon all of these chefs to toil under Midora if he can help them in any way). If his reasoning is just because he has faith that Toriko will rescue him, he must have missed the part where Toriko lost multiple limbs to a guy who is only the second- or third-strongest of the remaining Bishokukai members.
-
Agreed. I doubt Komatsu would leave behind all those chefs, so his words may contain some ulterior motives.
-
my god that was bad.
first the usual "komatsu is amazing" thing that has already grew boring and stale chapters ago..than the brilliance of komatsu himself, that decides to NOT be the one to help himself and just go home (that would be too smart from him,and a good change of pace from the usual),but wait like a damsel in distress for toriko to come to the rescue, risking his life against an opponent who almost killed him recently plus his boss ,the one that killed toriko's teacher,bcause..he believes in him? -

I drop the series I no longer have any interest in. Fairy Tail, Naruto, Bleach. . .All gone.
Toriko's not my favorite manga, but it's probably my second favorite SJ current manga. Well, make that a tie with AssClass.
