Andre is part of my name and the first username I ever used on a forum, waaaayy back in 2008 when I was in high school. I've also used the name for a couple of my pokemon protagonists, including my dude on X.

My is a tribute to an old vilain of a popular comic in my country.
His super power is polution and he comands a army of "mud-creatures".
I choosed this name because this comics was the first thing I read when I was a kid and because I really like this main antagonist.
This reminds me of Captain Planet.
-
I searched "Captain Ugly" on Google and the first result is his AP Forums Wiki article.

zachri - baaaack in the day it was late 2006, one did starteth on GaiaOnline… after some time, I made friends with this person called 'zachry', and to me at the time they were like. The bitches tits. The bees knees. Much awesome. Very awesome. So I changed my name so it was similar to theirs in 'honor' as it were... unfortunately they kinda seemed to have dropped off of the edge of the planet and haven't been online since early 2007 I'd say. May sad times. But I kept the name. I used it for DA (don't look it up I'm kinda embarassed really due to what my favs are full of and some of the stuff I've drawn I don't like showing that DA around) and then used it here. Sometime after that, I changed my Gaia name to Sire Jaculate, but years later I've made another account, called it zachri again (after changing it from Plethora Lesax... I had a thing for innuendos AHOY) and voila :D
The title/part underneath username - well as you've probably seen there's been a running theme in my title - 'the answer is [/insert thing here]'. This is due to the antics of one of our maths teachers in secondary who was awesome (and who lip synced 'Stop The Cavalry' and we couldn't tell if he was actually singing it or just lip syncing cause he does sound a little like him) and sometimes he'd go 'The answer is dinosaur', usually if someone derped like 'I spy with my little eye, something beginning with [/insert letter here - it wasn't specifically 'f' which made it more amusing]
something I partially was debating changing my username to if I could do so to confuse the living shit out of everybody but I don't know whether to do so or not - bauscheusse - was just walking around the house one day home alone bambling on to myself as you do and suddenly I just went 'bauscheusse' and yeah. Awesomeness was created. It's my username for my 'normal' DA (need to get some new stuff up there though it looks derpy so far)

-
Not that hard to figure out.
If it means anything, I think I was super drunk and may have made the name to register to post spoilers I found. After that, Urouge told me that all "D" posters were shit so I tried to prove him wrong. I haven't really posted enough lately to prove him wrong, though.

This reminds me of Captain Planet.
Well, Captain Planet is from 1990 and Captain Ugly (in the original: Capitão Feio) is from 1972.
I don´t know if they had something to do with each other, but I guess that polution will always be the enemy.
@TheCrystalShip:I searched "Captain Ugly" on Google and the first result is his AP Forums Wiki article.
Try in portuguse (Capitão Feio).

Looked it up.
This is adorable. -
It shouldn't be too hard to guess right? I wanted the name to refer my favorite OP-character and Light Bro just popped in my mind.
It also felt fitting because I have admired the 60-70ties hippie and disco culture as long as I remember, hence "Bro". And even if I haven't always been so good at it, I have always tried to maintain that relaxed and liberal attitude on these forums and never tried to seriously offend anyone, even if I can be a bit straightforward at times.
And for bonus round, my Steam account TheEndsniper comes from my favorite video game boss ever, The End from Metal Gear Solid 3. My Know Your Meme name Keltapina comes also from Kizaru; "keltainen apina" is Finnish for yellow monkey.
-
Man, now I'm embarrassed I din't recognised your avatar sooner.
Yeah, those Portuguese/Brazilians members always know.
@Epoida:Looked it up.

This is adorable.Thanks…?
It's a comic book for children, my avatar is a tribute made by an artist in celebration of the 50 years of this comic. That´s why it's darker than the original.

That old fucker is everyone's favorite video game ever. He's just too fun that you can replay his fight times and times again without getting bored. <3333

Well, your avatar is still really cool. I just think the original comic's art style looks pretty adorable.
…Hey, I'm a woman who happens to really like cute stuff. What can I say?

To decide my name, I consulted the oldest, wisest sage of nomenclature. He told me to seek the six letters of power. I journeyed across the land, facing many perils across forest, cave, tundra, desert, volcano and finally the precarious tower of the evil wizard Evilzard, whom I defeated in vicious single combat. When I emerged from the battlefield, I had assembled the one true name of power, and that name was… something like PMOKZR since I guess the ancient ones who made it had a different, now-incomprehensible language? So then I settled on Wagomu, like Usopp Wagomu or something.

<parsing name="" "demonicpoodle"="">[/hide] Whenever I see your name I think "damn straight that poodles are demonic"! I used to be a 'assistant dog groomer' (fancy way of saying dog bather) for a year and near the end I had a nightmare of having to brush out all the tangles in the owner's standard poodle…as the owner was standing right behind me
@Toraish:
words.
Now that eh tournament is over, Are you going to change it back to Dryish?
I've been using Katzztar since I've been active on the internet … so it goes so far back to 2001...so been using it for 12 years now :wassat:
I was signing up with AOL and needed a screen name. I didn't want so silly name that I would get sick of shortly. I've seen some people changing their names like some would change out their purses/shoes/cars (pick one you've seen changed out the most). I wanted a name that if I made friends, they could recognize me so didn't want o change too much ... the extra account/profiles (back then AOL dial-up had allowed 5/6 with one family ) were fort he silly and anonymous names.
I liked cats and stars, so tried Cat's Star... it was taken.
So then tried Cat Star - yup it was taken.
Having plenty of time (and being stubborn) I started to experiment with the spelling and spacing....and failed, they were taken. So I decided to change the 'c' to 'k' and 's' to 'z' and to take out the spacing and leave out any special characters like ' or _ . Sure enough it wasn't taken! And that is how Cat's Star became Katzztar.</parsing>
-
Ooh. Neat seeing the origins of names here. Well this screen name came about because I liked the idea of combining nobility/royalty with a natural disaster. I also used Typhoon Dutchess, Lava Queen and Avalanche Countess.
-
No story….just a Zappa fan. I did forget about the K though.
-
CCC is my initials.
There's actually a D. in there too (second middle name is David) but CDCC isn't as cool, and I'm trying to stay off the World Goverment's radar as a potential revolutionary/thorn in their side.
-

At some point, yeah. Probably come the AP awards. Or alternatively at the end of the year. We'll see.

I see your avatar is trying to return … slowly. at first I thought I was imagining things until I took time to stare
P.S. When IS the AP awards?

It's been doing that since Frank beat Fujitora. :I
I had some amazing plans for making that even better than it is right now, but it was too much work when I had no time. A shame, really.

The name I chose is like a promise
A promise made to someone extraordinary

@Print:
Fun topic! Always a joy to learn more about the folk here.
I didn't want to use the same name I use pretty much everywhere else on the net, so went with whatever was in my head at the time. Print Error refers to how I do coding, how I worked in publishing, how I like making photoshops, how I'm a writer, how I'm a fan of generalised chaos, and a few other things…seemed to work quite well :)
What language do you code exactly?
-
Still loving this thread. I admit that I'd wondered about such names as Captain Ugly and Dryish!

I'm still relatively new to the whole field, so I don't have a super strong background in anything. I did work on a site in PHP for 6 months though, and I've done some Javascript too.
-
Eh, I change my usernames quite frequently… Usually I try to make them sorta random, sometimes I make them random with the help of random.org(what a supernice site!)...
So Sarfallet or Särfallet means "special case" or something like that. I just thought it would be something someone would choose to seem funny-ironic. So I choose it because being seen as like funny-ironic would be really rad! -

Sounds good to me, I'm currently learning HTML and C++, I was going to try PHP but I had to quite because I wanted to learn more about C++ before trying another language

I've been out of practice for a little while. I was going to spend a while relearning this month, but then some tragic personal events happened and I'm only beginning to find my feet again. At least I have the benefit of not learning from scratch! I don't know Java or C++ though, which I suppose I should.
-
There's not much of a story - I just find it hilarious when people on the internet call someone out as a "noob".

Just see it as a boon in reverse.

HA! Boon just sounds like a retarded way to pronounce bun.
Boon…baboon...WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!
-
That's the joke, though, isn't it? To be thought a noob when you're not can sometimes be a boon. :P

Is really difficult to learn a language from scratch and moreover when you don't have a friend around that can give you some advance but yeah you should learn Java and C++, I recommend you to learn C++ first because is more powerful and can be applied to any type application but at the end it will all depend on you and how fast you can learn it

I guess I have the time, given I'm currently unemployed and my big grad scheme assessment got pushed back a month. Just need to find a good course that will let me go at my own pace. I think I can do it because of how quickly I picked up coding given I didn't know anything about it bar some basic HTML this time last year, but still.
Good luck with your own learnings :)

What's a boon?

It can be a blessing and beneficial to be treated like a noob even though you're not because it might mean people are nicer to you and you get to have good laughs by surprising them later on when you reveal that you're not really a "noob" at all~

Ah! okay it makes sense now.
Sorry about that. -
Mine came from the 2nd One Piece movie.
Which I hated anyway, but I still went it because I liked the semi-alliteration.

Actually it has a C++ course, you can find it in Web Fundamentals but is just the basics

"Wolfs are my favorite animals, and wood is very useful."
This is not the origin of my username but it's as good as a reasoning as anyone ever put forward
It just struck me that i could probably change me own name to anything i'd want to
-
I thought this was a clever name in 2006
-
More so than Gigglepuffy was? I adored that one.

Mr.Snickles the 3rd is a good name if anyone is considering changing

Gigglepuffy is still my universal account name on most everything I use that requires one. Holy Hell is just a forum name in this side of the internet.

Kitsune is italian for "still river"
Inferno is greek for "half moon"
