Law was beaten by DD & Fuji
One Piece 722: The Royal Bloodline
-
Law was beaten by DD & Fuji
-
Not necessarily interbreeding, but certainly their offspring. So other people could probably marry in too.
As for the rest, we can only speculate :)
So the Donquixote family is just one of the 20 original families? Because in the Mp translation they refer to all of the families colllectively as the Donquixotes… That's where all my confusion stems from lol
-
it has probably been suggested and it isnt some great prediction but I think the guy who DoFla talked to in ch.595 about disposing of Moria is likely a Donquixote CD
-
luffy is 556#
556/4 blocks= 139 fightersC block had 139 fighters but B and D block were said to have 138, A probably had 139 too. 2 people are missing there. Spartan was introduced before block A so he could be from that block, that leaves gambia and maynard (introduced after A block) to be the 139th fighters of B and D block.
Now D block number of contestants has decreased to 137 andAcilia, unlike the rest of the fighters, is nowhere to be seen (fighting lion aside).forgot about meadows, so it's between him and acilia (I doubt the lion has defaulted lol)All in all, it's would be very weird (or inconsistent) for maynard to get a "one fighter has defaulted" message when gambia and spartan don't get one. So it must mean someone else has defaulted.
Did maynard get a defaulting notice? He was in Block B; I think it was at least mentioned that he hadn't shown up. Also, I was wondering how we know Gambia is actually in the tournament? Granted we see him in the colosseum area, but at the same time, it doesn't introduce him (as far as I remember) as an entrant, and we don't see the label with his number on … does it say anywhere he entered?
Could be Spartan was discounted in the first place because he was KO'd before things kicked off? And Gambia is missing here. Or Gambia didn't actually enter and Spartan is missing here?
-
Pandaman spotted! Page 8 top right panel.
-
so Donquixote Family is 20 or i miss it
-

Well I'm no pro at this, but I think I've spotted yer' problem.

Gambia was going to compete. Remember that fighters have their own area in the Colosseum (when Franky pointed out that fighters had to use a special entrance), which means that area can only have fighters or staff people.
-
good thing the Nefertari family decided to stay there in alabasta, else vivi would have ended up having a butt for a face.
rebecca had killers eyes before the start of block D. she is now on serious mode, wonder how strong she will be:)
i guess even as world nobles they might have famillies who hold more power then other.(higher rank)
-
Tenryubito is also translated to Celestial Dragons. As we already saw, dragons in OP - although artificial - do have wings (except Momo's DF form). So that was my best guess for why there's only one wing.^^
Sorry to spoil the theory (i quite like it) but Dragons in Eastern Asian Culture look like MoMos DF form, they dont actually have Wings.
Dragons in Japanese culture are more like long snakes, except they have four legs and what resembles a golden fin or scales on their back. They are associated with Rain, Storms and Tsunamis and have the ability to fly because they are said to be sky deities and the cause of many weather phenomenons. If a Dragon is happy with the mortals behaviour they will reward them with perfect balanced weather season for a maximized harvest, but if they are provoked they might cause tsunamis, typhoons or other destructive weather tools at their disposal. (Funny how the character named Dragon seem to posses similar abilities.)http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fc/Hokusai_Dragon.jpg
traditional portrayal of a japanese dragon.

this is a nice theory

So the World Nobles are the product of the interbreeding between the 19 original families? Why is Doflo the only World Novle we've seen so far that hasn't had the helmet on? And do you think that the World Nobles look down on the Befertari Dynasty for staying? Also was Doflo holding Law's heart? Very confusing chapter lol
Maybe Dofla doesnt share the same views as the other Tenryuubito? Or he doesnt want to give it away by wearing their trademark helm?
Since he ran away from Mareijos you can assume that he doesnt share their view of the world. He could never become a pirate if he shared their traditional views since they would never associate with commoners, and pirates are considered the lowest standing scum of the world in their eyes. Doflamingo obviously doesnt think this way since he is the captain of a crew full of commoners.
Think of him as a World noble version of Sabo in that way.
I find it funny how peopl suggest that Zoro, or Zoro+Sanji could take out admiral Fujitora. The guy looks like a beast and i dont like the idea of Strawhats other than luffy already taking out an Admiral.
He has grown in power immensivley due to his training with Mihawk. But if admirals are such pushovers the Whitebeard Pirates would have crushed them at Marineford. Fuji seems to have a more destructive DF than Kuzan and we havent really seen what he can do with it other than that it has something to do with gravity.–- Update From New Post Merge ---
JUST A WILD "WHAT-IF" THEORY ABOUT THE HEART DD HELD:
What if Doflamingo is actually holding Laws heart? Maybe his Devil fruit is so powerful that it actually allows him to control other peoples devil fruits along with their body, and used Laws ability against him when he was beaten down and extracted his heart? It would probably make Doflamingo a tad overpowered, unless it has limitations like the victim having to be severly weakened to be controlled to that extent. He is probably just holding Ceasars heart and it was shown to let the readers know that he has it. But i have always longed to see a possesion fruit that includes control of others DF abilities so i want to believe its Laws!
What makes me think this could be a possibility is the way he is holding right in front of law and smirking in a very "IN YOUR FACE" fashion, Kinda likes he wants to show that he can kill him anytime. DD seems to enjoy showcasing the situations where he is in complete control and tease someone for their loss/weakness. Like when he botched the Moria assasination because he dragged it out, spending too much time just sitting back and enjoying her suffer on the ground and telling moria how weak he was and bragging about his big-shot connections.
He seems to enjoy the humiliating part far more than the killing part when it comes to beating someone.
-
Wouldn't that be Maynard? The one who didn't appear. Or was he mentioned to be in some of the other blocks?
Maynard is in block B. It can be Spartan Gambia or the horse.
-
I feel like for the sake of the story at least a few tenryubito will be good guys
-
Fuji and dd didnt even have a single scratch, how the hell law thought he can defeat a yonkou? Is he stupid or just an alcoholiker…
Law is stupidity in Person
-
Think of him as a World noble version of Sabo in that way.
what if he is? Jk that's super retarded haha
I find it funny how people who suggest that Zoro, or Zoro+Sanji could take out admiral Fujitora. The guy looks like a beast and i dont like the idea of Strawhats other than luffy already taking out an Admiral.
Not getting that either. Zoro would lose that battle or we have an entirely new calibre admiral that is far below the original three.
He is probably just holding Ceasars heart and it was shown to let the readers know. But i have always longed to see a possesion fruit that includes control of others DF abilities.
That just seems so uncreative compared to other devil fruits to me.
What's important about this chapter?
-Rebecca is hated by the citizens because of her pyromaniac king.
-Cavindish is opportunistic and loves feeling cool. Probable unfortunate past where didn't feel valued. He really didn't care about Rebecca it's more like he saw it as an opportunity to become more popular. He mentions reporters and we know abasolom has been filling that role. We may see some more coverage from him on coming events from green bit. Kind of groundless but maybe Law knows Moria has a grudge against Kaidou and the Luffy Law alliance being put in the paper was a calculated move from Law?
-Spectators are selfish. This struck me as a powerful statement that is going to play importance in this arc. Maybe not though.
-Toy soldier mentions that their resolve is "For the honor of the abdicated king Raku". Considering the king is going take Donfla's place as the fit ruler for Dressrosa, I don't think that's the way he would speak about himself. This is my reasoning for believing toy soldier is not the king. I'm thinking we still haven't met the king yet. It seems to me that it's far more likely that toy soldier was the king's strongest knight.
-An entire year was spent preparing for the attack. Is it possible that there's something special about an upcoming day that may turn the tides against Donfla, or has it simply taken that long to coordinate? Unsure about this.
-Does Donfla have info that Fujitora didn't know? Oda put the dialogue box in between law and Fuji and they both indicated they had no idea where he was going with his statements.
The expression that Fuji was making seemed to be disgust. He is clearly not happy to be dealing with Donfla. So I pose this question: Since there are 3 powers, that being the WG, the Marines, and Yonkou, is law trying to cause an internal conflict between the marines and WG expecting Kaidou to attack and then using that opportunity to take him down. In other words, is law trying to make the marines his ally?
That might be retarded but I'm curious to see what you all think.
-
Im sorry for taking up so much space here but i feel the need to correct and point out a few things:
Doflamingo cannot be a bastard because bastards do not inherit the Fathers family name. At least not among nobility. The most likely theory is that he ran away like Sabo did.
There must be some reason why Law and Fujitora is still keeping him alive and have set up a small camp around him in the green bit. im guessing Fuji would not want to keep Akainu waiting, so he should be trying to take back the HQ and ship him off to impel down.
This chapter had brooks best moment in the series so far i think. i loved how he very cleverly manipulated the art lady like a master of deception, talking the talk so well that i actually almost bought it myself at first, and once he was done he instantly resorted to making "silly" skull jokes (but this one made me laugh). Its good to see Oda remind us that the Strawhats have both Brains and Muscle, and nami and robin arent the only ones who can trick and manipulte people.
-
So Vivi could have been tenrubitos but her ancestors chose against it.
Really interesting and respectable to Alabasta kings family
-
Champ: Law was already sort of allied to the marines as a warlord, but anyways id like to hear how you think he is planning to cause an internal conflict between the marines and the WG, and what gave you that idea (because if there was a hint that i missed i want to know about it) It sounds interesting but i didnt catch how its gonna go down. Defeating Kaido might give him credability among the marines and possibly his warlord rank back but i dont see it causing a conflict between the marines and the WG.
Fuji falling to Zoro or even Zoro Sanji in this arc would start an endless debate if the monster trio has become admiral-level or if Fuji was just the weakest admiral ever. And since we have seen so little of Fuji its impossble to judge his level of strenght (defeating law with doflamingos aid is no feat for an admiral) so it would be impossible to settle on one or the other.
-
Idk but i think fujitora isnt the lvl of akainu or kuzan
-
@Light:
When you think about it, the violence was still toned down because she was a woman! We didn't see any blood did we? Guess in One Piece only women can make other women bleed. :getlost:
Actually, she didn't bleed because Brook's sword also freezes the cut.
-
Idk but i think fujitora isnt the lvl of akainu or kuzan
Doflamingo mentioned hearing rumors about him being a beast in terms of strenght.
and why did you not mention kizaru? His DF is much much more useful than kuzan who i personally think is the weakest of the original Admirals.
-
Awesome chapter, time to see what Rebecca's made of. Also, I'm curious as to why Diamante and Trebol were quickly revealed, but Pica's face and body have been pretty much completely obscured even up to now. Is it possible Pica's a girl or something lol.
-
So reading the raw just now…, it's still not clear by whom(the citizens, the now to be CDs) the new royal bloodlines were elected?
So a possible scenario is that Doflamingo returned to his family's old nation(for some reason) and took it back from the now royal Riku bloodline? -
-Caribou really took ou Scotch and his now taking care of the factory. Swallowing a factory proves me that really can swallow everything. He should really found a reason to flee once he's finished. Else Kaido might get a notice about him.
-Rebecca is now label as the one to kill. Everyone would like to gain a country sympathy.
-For a moment I wonder If Luffy was somehow smart enough to relate the situation to Ace. But him thinking about Chinjao made way more sense.
-That arrival of Cavendish! I burst out of laughter when I saw the horse leg.His sword remind me of the the air sword for a moment. A light-saber kind of thing.
-So is crew are the beautiful pirates. I wonder if they are all good looking. And he is also nickname by his transportation rather than his personality or fighting style. That's pretty rare, at least I think so.
-Now that was one good speech from Cavendish. That can only help him gains more appreciation from the readers. ;But that speaker phone took me by surprise.
-So Luffy don't like Caven? I thought he didn't care about him at all. But it seems like Luffy do care about someone constantly trying to kill him. But at the same time he doesn't hate Smoker.
- Cavendish face when he found himself popular again is just priceless. And he really looks cool while reminding Rebecca they are still enemies.
-With his coat and the sword Cavendish kind of reminded me of the marine officers.
-I wonder if the appreciation Caven got from Rebecca will serve some purpose.
- A plan that has been on for 1 year. I hope it really will seems like it. And Usopp planning to flee. I wouldn't have expected more. I wonder if he'll flee and come back or just overcome his cowardliness? I hope the latter.
-The seats took care of the whole army? Seems legit. But I wonder what they did with the army.
-Spade seems to be the only one with a normal height. Or is he short?
-I love the interaction between Zoro and Wicca.
-Cool name Zoro got Sanji and Kanjuro.
- I hope Sanji stays to take care of delivering his message to Luffy rather than go to green bit. Leave that to Zoro.
-Brook looks good with the shark-guitar. And I love the musical wave.
-Thank god the sunny took care of Jora by themselves and thanks to Jora they are already on their way to Green bit. But wonder how people
feel about Chopper doubting his crewmates.-So Dofla is a CD? I wonder why why he was on that sofa as a kid. Maybe a kid who wanted adventure.
-Poor Law he bought all the time he could and the factory is still intact. Maybe he can still make Dofla stay by talking with Dofla or provocking him so that the toys have the time to take care of things.
-I wonder why Doflamingo has no problem talking to Fujitora. I suppose it's because he knows that thanks to his newspaper trick the WG will tell the higher-ups from the marines the true.
-But now there's just no way the sunny team can get Ceasar. Law is already in the ground and Dofla and Fuji won't leave him the time to create a room. So to Zou it is for Nami team.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I didn't expect him to or injure both heavily, but yes anything for someone who wants to fight Kaido .. I would say that's not asking much at all. I don't mind Fujitora being overall stronger than him either, but he wants to fight Kaido here. If he can't even injure them a small amount, than it kind of doesn't make sense if 2 arcs later he and Luffy take down a character that's stronger than both of the two that he fought at the moment.
I think Law just defended. He knows that he has no way to win. And wants to make the others have enough time to destroy the faactory. so rather than be on the offensive and lose stamina for nothing he use it all in defending hoping the strawhats do the job.
-
we might get:(future fights)
pica vs franky
diamante vs zoro(could be sanji, but i somehow think sanji isnt ready for diamante if he is stronger than vergo, unless sanji was just weaker against vergo cus of his strong CoA)
Trebol vs sanjiDon vs luffy!
-
Name for Sanji should have been Ero-land

Makes you wonder, maybe the Nefetari Dynasty stayed by the request of the people? who knows… All I can see from this is developing history that some kingdoms suffered by the total douche move to abandon your own country.

That's the one I would exclude since someone who takes things by force is not really someone that's elected but then that's stuff 800 years ago… :/
The spoiler thread was really confusing regarding this point and lot of people claiming how clear it was that the CDs elected them.
-
So am I missing something or is it odd that people (in universe) don't know the names of the top 20 (19 really) world noble families that essentially rule over the world? Why wouldn't an admiral such as Akainu know that Doflamingo was part of the world noble heritage seeing as how the nobles can call them at the drop of a hat. Wouldn't these vain egotistical characters want the whole world to know who they are?
-
i like how barty fangirled over luffy last time and cabbage fangirled over himself lol
-
So here's what I was thinking. Donflamingo is a world noble, but he's clearly breaking some really serious Laws (lol). If Donflamingo gets caught with his pants down so to speak by a special reporter, then that brings some serious questioning in by the marines.
Since Donflamingo has such high up connections, he's going to try to appeal to those connections to keep his status and keep from being arrested by the marines. But who's not going to like it? Who doesn't believe in the shibukai in the first place?
Akainu may be so pissed about being lied to and his innate hatred of pirates is so strong that it may cause him to believe Doffy has revoked his privileges as a world noble. And since the world government doesn't want their power questioned this is going to cause some serious conflict.
We've heard mention of the new shibukai that took Z's arm and we already know their immense power so a possible conflict between the marines and shibukai over Donflamingo's rights as a celestial dragon seems POSSIBLE.
I admit i haven't really mulled over it too long and am currently unaware if there are any blindly obvious reasons why this could be impossible.
-
BROOK ~ BEST SKULL JOKE!! This is the only one I ever laughed out loud!!
Love that we are finally starting to get history lessons! I am more interested in this!
Can't wait for next chapter!

It's been 800 years and maybe the name's already forgoten for public. Peoples usually know them as World Nobles/Celestial Dragon, because the status itself (Celestial Dragon) was what they introduce/socialized to public, not the family name.
-
My 2 cent
The admiral has a sword, zoro is on his way to green bit so it seems like a big fight coming for zoro
Loved luffys comment 'but i still hate you'
Doffy a CD not a big suprise
Already said it. Duplicate post. Try harder.
-
Guys, I think Doflamingo got his bounty when he became a pirate not because he was a notorious outlaw, but because it would suspicion if he didn't have one after he committed all of these horrible crimes. He's obviously trying to hide the fact that he's a Tenryuubito, which became fact that no one knew about this until Doflamingo admitted it to Law and Issho. The World Nobles are obviously above the law, because they ARE the law and whatever they do, regardless of it being right or wrong, cannot be considered a crime because of it, and that's how Doflamingo could do all of these crimes without getting caught; the fact that he's a Shichibukai is a just a convenient cover up to hide his actual past.
-

i dunno what your talking about but, the CD can basicly do anything and get away with it.

AFAIK everyone who is a commoners have to refer to them as "Saint"+their first name. So i would not be surprised if the full names of the founding kings are secret to outsiders. Since it was a big reveal from Doflamingos side and law had no clue, its defenitely not written in the history books. Robin lives for history and she never said anything about the doflamingo family being a founder of the WG. Either Way Akainu never seemed that bright to me and he could probably care less about History.
Champ: everyone knows that the tenryuubito are huge assholes. at least dofla doesnt ride on the backs of slaves or kill people for not bowing in front of him, or collect slaves. Also, Akainu is a believer in absolute justice wich means basicly blindly following the WGs laws without questioning it. I bet his first reaction to finding out doflamingos status would be to bow down to him.
-
i dunno what your talking about but, the CD can basicly do anything and get away with it.
Well we do know that Doffy is barely a CD. He doesn't wear a spacesuit and he's an underground broker plus he's a shibukai. Did doffy reject his status as a CD? People get disowned you know, that is a thing.
I believe there's a chance that Akainu may interpret Donflamingo's actions as a formal farewell from his privileges. Remember, Akainu really, REALLY despises pirates. Plus Doffy personally insulted Akainu by making him look like an idiot with the false report. In the end it would be a power struggle between the marines justice and the CD natural born rights and which is more applicable to the situation.
-
I woner if Law has like a baby Den Den mushi on him and is transmitting the entire conversation to someone and it will get announced to the world. I'll freaking laugh my butt off.
-
So the World Nobles are the product of the interbreeding between the 19 original families? Also was Doflo holding Law's heart? Very confusing chapter lol
See answer below to inbreeding. Why do think its Law's heart? We already know that DD wanted Law to hand over Ceasar's heart. So makes sense that its Ceasar, no law's heart.
Not necessarily interbreeding, but certainly their offspring. So other people could probably marry in too.
Not nessarry to inbreed ..but I wouldn't be surprised and think some did. I think its not nessarry becasue if we look at first time CD's were seen -1st trip to SA- that fat son mentioned he had (at least) five wives, because he mentions that he's bored with several and told his aide to 'dismiss' them and "return them to commoner status". Its possible that's how the CDs had not needed to inbreed all the time.
I know some are going to say "but since the mothers were not CDs they don't count". I say we don't know that. There have been cultures in the past that saw children from concubines as noble blood. Some think the noble's blood is so powerful that any child by them is same as the noble parent
Doflamingo cannot be a bastard because bastards do not inherit the Fathers family name. At least not among nobility.
We don't know that. We don't know if he's a bastard or if his family name came from the father.
Remember that Oda doesn't make One Piece world mimic the real world 100%
As I pointed in the answer above, Oda already shown that the CDs have taken spouses from common stock if they wished (its likely not for love but lust, as shown with that fat son) Say if Saint Roswald's daughter, Shaulila, decided she wanted some handsome guy. She not would take his family name, after all she is the CD. So in this scenario, if she had a child, it would have her name.

It seems like I'm gonna have to stay away from this thread this week

Isn't it possible that the common folk don't even know the surnames of the 20 Kings?
With the obvious exception of the Nefertari family.

Being a CD is a matter of blood. They only wear spacesuits outside marejois because they dont want to breathe the air of commoners, its not a law for all CDs to wear them. CDs commit crimes all the time like owning large slave collections.
Once again, only a CD can give orders to the CP0 and file a false news article. DD has done both. He IS a CD

Another one of the 20 families is Roronoa (Ghandi family) :ninja:

@Ittoryu:
I woner if Law has like a baby Den Den mushi on him and is transmitting the entire conversation to someone and it will get announced to the world. I'll freaking laugh my butt off.
That seems far too simple. But I like it. That's the right idea at least. Thing is Cavendish specifically mentions a reporter and Absalom has been obviously providing that service for a while.
And Moria hates both Doffy and Kaidou.

But if the world knows the kinds of things Doffy is doing, like selling devil fruits to yonkou, it's going to make the marines look weak.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
He was not trying to fight back.
He's buying time. I predict he's trying to put Doffy in a situation where he exposes his relations to Ceaser and his S.A.D. operation.
