All this powerlevel stuff is dumb in general but this is a particularly bad take.

I too noticed that. Ever since the changing of the rules regarding chapter threads, I've seen less and less users here. It may have effectively killed the forum. I remember people complaining about the content being region-locked or something.

You're damn right. Think about it in terms of Mexican food and that travesty that is Tex-Mex food. Nobody eats that pretending is real authentic mexican food, it's just an americanised version without the real punch of mexican food. However mexicans like the strong taste and americans more often than not dislike the same taste.
That's my understanding with the Sanji joke. Japanese people like that sort of humour and it's alright, I can look past it and ignore it while enjoying the rest of the character. Not necessary for me to throw a tantrum every time I see it, I'll eat around it.

This might be a stupid question, given the day it is already but, no chapter this week?
I'm starting to think One Piece will go on another 10 years minimum. As someone else pointed out, we're just starting Wano, there is still Elbaf coming, the confrontation with Akainu and the World Government, Weevil, Blackbeard, Raftel and the following round the world trip to re-visit their old friends… Damn, when I started reading this manga, I never thought it would be a lifelong commitment.
I have now known Luffy longer than most of my friends.
The chapter was alright, though, if uneventful.
Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon here with this Im-sama and the Gorosei kneeling before him-her but for all we know there’s an alternative explanation: this could be parallel to the British system of government in which the Queen is nominally in power, she’s the one who signs bills into laws and the ministers make reverences for her and stuff but the one actually in power is the Prime Minister.
That could be the case here, doesn’t sound too farfetched and would still maintain the Gorosei’s status as the highest political power in the world. Think about it
Other than Law, the Supernovas have hardly done anything noteworthy. They have spent these two years doing nothing but getting their asses kicked or allying themselves with other Yonkou. What's the deal about them? Is the world government still taking them seriously?
The label of "Worst Generation" hardly live up to the fact that only two of them have done outrageous things (BB and Luffy) and only another one did something to get into the spotlight (Law). What have they been doing these past two years?
