I personally think that a large part of people who appeared at the Colοsseum will play a role in the arc if we do not see them later in some other arc

Law vs Fujitora vs Doflamingo is just another fight. Only the outcome of the fight is what actually matters.That's exactly like this tournament, the outcome of it will effect the plot. The tournament actually has revealed important information and will continue to do so whether you bitch about it or not.Don't like the tournament chapters? Don't read them. Only click on a chapter with your little Law in it. It must be doing something right for you to keep coming back to read more.

Pointless chapter. introducing a lot of guys with comments on their great power and suddenly BAAAM everybody is out of the ring.
Another user misusing words and not giving a reasonable critique. If you were to say that the stuff with Law is more interesting and all the time spent with the Colosseum is wasted, I can see where that's an argument. (It's wrong, there has been a ton of plot progression, character development, (Bellamy) world-building (Kano guys, bounty hunter revealing shit about level 6 prisoners), and quite a few new characters who are clearly going to be important to the arc and maybe to the whole of One Piece. (Bartolomeo, Cavendish)
Now how could this chapter be pointless? Maybe if you wanted the fight to be more concise it would make sense for it to be a little more than needed, but the fight is clearly something that Oda sees as important to the plot of Dressrossa, and I don't think you or I have the hindsight to call it pointless.

Filler is action/events with no impact on the general story and its conclusion. Stuff that happens and is later forgotten, with no consequences. I have already forgotten the names of all the Cell block C competitors, except D.C and Luffy obviously.

I laughed so hard when the Don had all those weapons sticking out of him.
The Art in the fighting scenes was amazing this chapter, Sai jumping on the glove of the funk brothers and heel dropping their ass (I could have watched the Sai vs. Ideo fight all day as well).
I remember back a few years ago when I still read bleach; it was so hard to tell what was going on in most of the fighting panels. But in One Piece I knew exactly what movements Sai, The funk brothers, and Ideo were making during this chapter.

That's probably because you're stupid, and don't know what filler is. Filler characters are those stuffed in anime that are literally not a part of the plot at all. They aren't creator-created characters. I actually believe all of the big featured fighters in this except for the Giant and Ideo will be featured a bit more in Dressrossa, and/or in the New World at some point. It's inevitable. Oda does this kind of thing. When has he wasted characters that he's developed as much as Boo, Cavendish, Bartolomeo, Chinjao, or the Funks? He hasn't, and he won't. I mean, this tournament is specifically one that pulled strong fighters from around the New World who were looking for a powerful Devil Fruit. This is our second big look at New World pirates since Whitebeard's War. Just like those characters won't be forgotten, Brownbeard wasn't forgotten, these guys won't be. The only ones who will are the generic gladiators like Spartan and Hera.

Dissapointing Chapter, this whole Tournament business feels like filler to me. Oda is teasing us by leaving law in such a cool cliffhanger situation and then draw nothing but pointless filler characters romping around in an arena for several chapters.
I mean lets be serious here, almost the entire last chapter was devoted to introducing the cell block C characters, only to have all of them get knocked out in the next chapter. That is what i call zero story progression. I Giggled at the Jacket Jacket fruit though, pretty creative. Im starting to suspect that Oda has several ghost writers working on coming up with new paramecia fruit powers because there is just no way one man can have so much imagination:wub:

Luffy casually dodges his attacks, wondering how Iva’s doing.
! Jean claims he even knows the whereabouts of the Level 6 escapees!
Luffy is surprised there were others who escaped from level 6.
! All the weapons Jean threw at Luffy, which Luffy dodged, landed on Chinjao’s stomach. lol
“Cut that out, it hurts!” Chinjao brutally takes out Jean with one hit. Jean is sent flying outside the ring.
! Meanwhile, Ideo and Sai are fighting a martial art battle.
Both of them are expert martial artists.
! Ideo is taking quite a damage from Sai’s Eight Impact attacks, while Sai is equally taking damage from his cannon punches.
The fight seems pretty even.
! However, Chinjao and Luffy are coming at each other from behind both contestants.
Luffy “You’re in my way!” Knocks out Sai in one kick
Chinjao “Get out of my way” Knocks out Ideo in one punch

I love how the logic is that if Luffy can easily beat you, you are fodder. Like Luffy is a weak character and not:
1. trained by the first mate of the greatest pirate of all time
2. Trained (sort of) by the guy who kept up with, chased, and antagonized the greatest pirate of all time.
3. A guy who has beaten/challenged some of the strongest pirates and marines in the world.
Someone should put Aohige's summary in the first post.

Luffy using CoC yet it was a clash of CoA unless they used both but this fight will be epic
The coc haki stuff is just that the two Luffy and Chinjao are both Coc users(they're born to stand above others), so it's like two great kings from heaven colliding with each other. Throughout one piece only Shanks and WB has been two confirmed Coc haki users shown to clash with each other(Luffy and Chinjao being the 2nd), due to their will was so strong the heaven or sky split in two.
Well what I'm trying to say is, it doesn't mean that Luffy and Chinjao used CoC haki but this kinda of force can only happen because both are CoC haki users.
A good chapter with a nice fighting. I like it when there is some brainless fighting in one piece. Now these characters have a name, which implies that, olthough not as strong as luffy, they made a name for them self in the new world. Oda is using the tournament more for world building. To let the readers know that there is more than luffy`s storyline

It's kind of ok that they didn't pose a threat to Luffy. Posing a threat to Luffy isn't what makes this tournament stuff good, or what makes characters good, or what makes a character not fodder. I bet if Kuro, Krieg, and Arlong were in the tournament and were beat by Luffy quickly, but were clearly going to be plot relevant later on, they'd still be called fodder.

This forum is really getting more and more filler users who can't say anything interesting about the chapter and can only bitch about it. That said I really enjoyed the chapter and it really made clear that Luffy and Chinjoa are in a league of their own. I hope we go into Chinjoa's backstory a little bit more and maybe Chinjoa can give a comparison between Luffy and Garp as he will have fought them both.

Some abilities are more confusing for me. Like the explosion punch from Ideo, the vibration combat from Kano Kuni etc., Its like Sanji's diable (atleast it has something related to friction). Does Ideo's punches are explosive because he is punching so hard or is it the other way around?
