But was it too late? Hopefully not because those first couple of chapters were painfully boring. Has it already left the safe zone as far protection for ratings? I forget how all of that works again.
The world is triggered…

I think it left the safe zone two weeks ago. So what you're seeing is its actual rating. So far…it has been floating (better than Koisuru Edison though it surprisingly JUMPED last week), but WT SEEMS to be dipping slightly to the bottom, but it is hard to tell at the moment whether it will survive at the moment...especially with Medaka (ending next week) and Sket Dance (ending VERY soon).

It might just have enough momentum then if thats the case. Hopefully it continues to improve itself, its still got a long way to go.

11…. wow!
! I…. I liked this!
This development is actually pretty awesome. Jin is awesome.
Using him from the one-shot was a great idea.
! And he single-handedly erased the uneasy feeling I had of the human race in general, by showing a much deeper understanding of the situation.Good, good, keep this up, WT.

Confused, is there anymore than the 1st 8 chapters out?
If so, can some1 tell where they're getting the newer chapters from?,
because the site I go to has only had the 8 chapters for almost 3 weeks…
-
There are raws out for the series up to chapter 11. And shonen jump alpha has the series in its lineup so US users that subscribed can be caught up. Don't think a scans group is caught up though.
As for the chapter.
! The series is starting to fill in glasses guy's back story and I was right about Jin probably knowing -3-'s father, though that wasn't hard to guess. Jin seems kinda cool, but seems really limiting to go "side effects aren't crazy like flight" when Jin can kinda see into the future. They did say his was extra special, and it's also vague, but eh. Vague prophecy powers aren't up my alley regardless anyways for special abilities too so this could just be a personal bias again.
At the very least, the story seems to be picking up some momentum and direction. And it doesn't seem to be a complete failure from the get go, so this could be sticking around for at least a little bit, but guess we'll see once the old series are gone and the new bottom five is established/1st volume sales.
-
Finally, the story has an actual pulse
Wouldn't hold my breath for anything impressive to happen though
-
Jin's a cool dude. I'd like more of him.
-
So I found the last series this guy did.
Remind you of anyone?
-
This weeks chapter(12) was by far the best.. A tough adversary indeed.. If they keep up this pace I think it'll be safe from the axe for a little while.
-
Wow, a fast-paced World Trigger chapter?!
-
Fortunately STUFF is happening which is a huge plus, but still can't say much for its generic design so far. I assume the editor must have woke up from his 2 month sabbatical and knocked some sense into this author for the past few chapters.
-
I know it's not anything new in terms of plot, but there's something about the man character named Yuma that got me hooked to this series.
-
So I found the last series this guy did.

You didn't know about Rilienthal? Yeah, another series full of 3 faces, and funnily enough it had pacing issues up the wazoo as well. But like World Trigger, it was still actually pretty dang good. Four volumes, well worth checking out.
-
Das sum nice perspective.
Also slice.

Do you know of a mangareader site that has it?
-
me? oh nonono i don't condone such things, and even if i did i'd hesitate to say most of volume one is on mangafox. reader sites are scummier pirate sites than most.
-
ch17 …. things are getting interesting.
This manga's engine is slow starter as hell. -
So, is WT worth picking up? Seeing as it has survived the first crucial period it must've been doing something right for the past few chapter.

It's a decent time-waster. Not great, but not bad either.
-
It's alright at the moment but shows potential.
-
I have to admit this manga is getting better and better and I should revise my initial criticism. Chapter 18 revealed some interesting stuff about Yumas father, and gave a hint how his fathers attitude might apparently be the reason for Yuma's genuine wierdness. It seems like father, like son. I grow quite fond of Yuma as a protagonist and I'm kind of impressed by the recent developments.
-
http://imgur.com/NyVPX4R Volume one has a nice cover. (I know it's small, couldn't find a better one)
-
World Trigger #01:
-
Has this been translated past chapter 10? And if not, is there any group planning to translate it?

You can read it with a Jump subscription, though it might be a while before you can catch up because they are up to chapter 18.
-
Well uh.
That was a thing that happened.
! The way it just breezed through Yuma's past reminds me of Magico. Ashihara really shot himself in the foot here.
-
! I think the flash back was done well, it was quick and to the point. With WT jumping up and down in the rankings it probably wouldn't of been the best idea to go into a lengthy flashback story anyways.
-
Yeah the only thing I could think when I read that chapter was "Wow, he is really desperate to get through this stuff before the axe falls." No other reason to do it that way. There were at least 3-4 chapters of solid reveals at a normal pace.
-
Totally agree the chapter just screamed gotta set up a fallback in case we get cancelled, right down to having glasses give the series a new direction if need be.
Also wanted to bring this up last week, but Jin's boss last week totally reminded me of Maes Hughes from FMA.
-

He really does now that you've pointed it out..
-
Other than the misplaced exposition, I'm enjoying this series so far.
It'd be cool if glasses guy did something though. He's less of a main character every chapter…
-
I like the set-up of this latest chapter, dividing our trio up and paving the way for giving them specialisations. It should lead to our cast growing a bit more, which is pretty sorely needed at this point.

The whole "assign teachers to each of the three main characters" was a deja vu to Magi.
-
The whole "assign teachers to each of the three main characters" was a deja vu to Magi.
Really? That's a bit disconcerting, but then I haven't read Magi (waiting on Viz's release later this year). Is it close enough to feel derivative, or just kinda doing the same thing?
-
nah, just vaguely close enough to get a strong deja vu.
Two boys and a girl, the three main protagonists, are taken under the wing of a much more experienced King who is adept at using the abilities they have.
He's one of the most powerful beings in that world, and looks after them. He assigns three of his generals (all young, but older than protagonists) to mentor the three. In other words, nearly identical situation.
-
I like where this series is going now.
-
I like how Chika isn't just a useless crybaby plot macguffin.
-
( =3=) ( 'v ')
-
Oh look, he managed to shoehorn in the sync test chamber from Eva too
-
I was thinking more of X-Men Danger Room.
-
I was totally getting Danger Room vibes going on there, too (but then I never liked NGE).
Bloody marvelous chapter, Love getting to see more of Reiji and Chika too (because buff and adorable are exactly what I need from characters in comics, I guess), and… man... Yuma's poofy hair. Only real weak point was Mikuno continuing to just feel so pathetic. I know it'll pay off eventually, but when you have one hugely weak link in your trio it sticks out waaaay too much.
But yeah with this chapter it's probably my favourite title in int'l jump, at least now Cross Manage is gone
-
Man, with the expanding of the cast recently, the manga has become a lot more fun.
! With the revelation of Expedition Team who invades Neighbor territory and bring back loot (triggers), I have a feeling this isn't such a clear cut "alien invasion" anymore.
Human side are, no surprise, shady as all fuck. From the viewpoint of the other side, perhaps what the humans are doing is no different. -
Really good set-up chapter, can't wait for next week. I'm still waiting for Osamu to be a main character; he's taken such a backseat :getlost:
-
Things have definitely been improving.
Looking forward to some Jin action. -
Loved today's chapter, and not just because I have a strong crush on Reiji, enough so that him just being there is like amazing.
… It's also because I like capybaras.
-
Just caught up to this. . .wow
That start was . . .difficult. but the interdimensional stuff with the other "countries" was really cool so I decided to stick with it.
As someone mentioned earlier, I don't realyl care for the humans in that town, not one bit.
But the story is getting better. . .kinda hope osamu becomes useful soon.
It also looks like the dude is setting up an AixOsamu relationship.
-
Volume 2 actually made the top 50 chart, not bad… It's become pretty solid in the last few weeks.
-
Really good chapter this week…Ashihara is putting some work in
-
I'm liking Jin more and more.
