First off, I thought it was smart for Oda to break off the different plotlines with different scenes, it helps us readers regain control over the pace of the story. These plotlines will intersect down the line.
I’ll try my best not to repeat what everybody has already said about this chapter, but Jesus Burgess looks so awesome with that beard tho! And based on what Franky said about this tournament no longer being a cakewalk for Luffy because of Burgess builds up the hopeful Luffy-Burgess matchup even more for me!
Also it is now confirmed that the blind man is Fujitora, and his real name Isshou ain’t to bad either. But I believe even though the appearance of Isshou doesn’t fit the “Admiral-colour-animal” pattern, I think the name Fujitora could also revolve around how he operates. For example, Fujitora calmly assesses his surroundings and possibilities before he makes a move; this reflects the hunting style of a tiger (hence, tora). And Fujitora is a quirky Admiral, but what Admiral – other than Akainu – hasn’t been quirky until now? Lastly, for some who is blind, Fujitora really “sees” things differently/clearly; he has a clear understanding of the justice he follows.
Now things get interesting; the plan is for the Marines to mobilize at Green Bit, and the exchange is going to happen at Green Bit so doodoo will hit the fan. In the end, I’m guessing everything will work out in favour of Doflamingo; Law’s group may be captured by the Marines and it may somehow prompt Nami’s group to go to Zou (as was foreshadowed). (I don’t want this to happen, by the way.)
But as Law stated, and Franky and Sanji predicted, things seem to be running too smoothly in Dressrosa, even AFTER Doflamingo renounced his kingship. A deal between Doflamingo and Akainu seems to be more plausible to me; Doflamingo may have offered the heads of Law and Luffy in exchange for his re-instatement as a Shichibukai. It’s a win for Akainu and a win-win situation for Doflamingo.
Now about Green Bit itself, there could be a historical landmark or Poneglyph there because the server at the cafe insinuated that explorers and researchers go there, which is perfect for Robin.
Lastly, Bartolomeo is a crazy strong pirate… to take down a Vice Admiral and put him with the trash is just… Bartolomeo is going to be a problem. Watch out, Dressrosa.
There are too many interesting things going on, Oda keeps piling plotline after plotline, situation after situation – he has to settle things down and let things develop. This is going to be a GREAT arc when everything is said and done. Dressrosa = Alabasta 2.0 with a little flavour of Enies Lobby (Buster Call).
Any thoughts?
