@namimore:
Hey like this idea. Perhaps the fire could help burn any strings controlling people.
Why I do I have this sick feeling Doflamingo will use his powers to make the Strawhats fight one another… I know this theory has been brought up millions of times, but the thought just haunts me. Strawhat against Strawhat... I won't have the heart to watch!
And I would hate to look away. Although I would be sorely + severely disappointed if Franky + above power-wise could be controlled that easily, automatically with DD's control ability.
@Aohige_AP:
LOL, I just now imagined a Kuma Pacifista trying to disguise himself as a rookie pirate with a paper bag from Happy Store.

I know you guys're joking; my mind knows you guys're joking. And I know that imagery is just rolling around in my head now too:ninja:. Logically I know to not give this a second thought; But the heart wants what the heart wants. And it s funny, but also wouldn't hate to see another more "unique" Kuma-bot (PX-), and it would be unique, and an unpredictable way for Oda to make use of that 1 disappeared decent fighting force. To be acting independently or semi - under his own power + direction this whole time, might give us a better indication of Kuma's 'personality' had he not been "completed".
@Kaoru:
Well… doesn't Bellamy look "a little" like Mingo? This thing he does with his tongue is similar and the facial estructure has some air of resemblance. Maybe Mingo has to put up with him because he is his sister's child or his cousing :P (of course this is all crazy speculation but still)
It would explain why he isn't dead and is sponsored by the DD family.
Was thinking this more and more as time went on, especially as seeing as besides females, and Luffy/ Ace, theirs is probably the closest drawn familial relations we've ever seen in OP. Then him being a DD subordinate, and reappearing here, specifically growing up to look even more like DD, makes this seem like a greater and greater possibility.
@Hadi85:
I need Urouge in the tournament.
This would make be a perfect time for him to reappear too. A tournament would seem to be the perfect place for him to display what seems to be his abilities.
@MiyamotoMusashi:
You know, at first i though that Doflamingo decided to use Ace´s fruit for the tourney after Punk Hazard and Luffy´s involvement in it but considering the amount of strong fighters who specifically came to the tourney, i think that it was planned before.
Well, that original theory is supported by that nobody, Franky questioned last chapter, and seemingly by DD himself. Even if he(DD) told some 'higher level' pirates a little ahead of those directly coming to the stadium, with those 'special waves' to add speed, still seems possible to be a last minute plan.
Ehh..
50/50…
But it makes so much less sense(according to his stated reasoning) the alternate way^^^
@Forseeable:
This is Oda = you would like it
Swinging a 3 ton gold ball isn't Luffy's favored style, nor Mizu-Luffy
or Nightmare Luffy, but Oda made them so damn good…
Sure, Lucy grabbed a broadsword and Crusader-type shield for teh styles,
but I think keeping the mini-shield (buckler?) will turn into something.
In the Fishman Island arc, his CoA couldn't stand up to Hodi's cutting attack,
so the thing could just be for defense against slashes. But I think if he's going
to fight incognito, he'll try to avoid gomu gomu attacks in the first round
(we should start a betting pool on when he'll get unmasked
) and bashing
foes with a haki buckler is the next step up from his Wax Champion gauntlets…
I also think it's interesting the fodders all buzzed about him flipping Spartan
and even Cavendish asked how, but no one is commenting on his CoO dodge
of Spartan's punch. Haki ability and knowledge seem to be less common in the
New World than we thought.
Actually Mizu-Luffy seemed exactly Luffy's style, like an extension of fuusen, but I get your point.
I understood Luffy's comment about haki not stopping Hodi to possibly be more about personal bladed attacks such as claws/ hooks/ or teeth, (+ there was the whole being underwater thing as well, in not knowing how much of an effect that had on him), that a person might have naturally, and always seemed to corner Luffy the most, anyway. Was hoping/ thinking he could at least defend from more 'common' weapon slashes, from 'lesser' pirates at least. It would be interesting if he still had a problem with those around or near his level in weapon usage/ mastery and haki, such as…
Zoro.
As for the CoO dodge?...
Thought it was simply Lucy saw it coming, possibly with CoO, but blocked it with 1 hand/ arm, then took his other arm and transitioned that block into a flip. In other words, would even the most potent haki- users have noticed Lucy using CoO, if he used it to block instead of dodge?
Although these preliminaries might explore a bit more with CoO and how it works; especially with multiple targets at once. Would interesting to see all these little lesser fights, while Lucy just strolled thru, (like with Luffy avoiding Hodi's water bullets), using CoO to avoid the fights he had no interest in till he walked to people who seemed like interesting challenges, + personally, and weirdly politely told his name and requested they fight. If that's how the prelims go, obviously I'd rather he not just go CoC and make people pass out, since he really doesn't need to fight them either way. They'll probably be taking each other out in moments anyway.
