Good point, especially remembering that Arlong Park was busted up badly. But….actually, I don't remember what split the tower. Luffy or Kaku?

Kaku with his kick.
-
-
when kaku first cut it in chapter 402 and it was just slightly off center but in the chapter after he cut it, it had slipped to the point it is now. i dont think its changed between 403 and 406 much if any.
but yes it did slip a lot
-
I think there was a panel in 406 showing the tower and how much it was falling, or was that just an introduction to the Zoro / Usopp part of the chapter?
-
Kaku cut the tower…then Fukurou was first punched through the wall and then into the ground. I think by the end of all fights, all that's left will be dust.
-
I have no doubts that the tower will fall into the abyss, but I´m not sure if it will be due to Luffy´s doing. There´s enough rumbling going on at the Judicial Tower with the remaining Strawhats and CP9 to make it fall down already. I still think that Luffy´s "destruction" part will be reserved for the Gate of Justice. Only that he won´t destroy it but open it widely.
-
I believe it will happen, just the way you see it moving. I believe it will come when either all the straw hats, excluding luffy, beat all the CP9 members or when Luffy hits the final blow at Lucchi.
Just as a symbolism that the CP9 and part of the government has crumbled. -
The collapsed tower may work as a bridge back to the other side.
-
Hm.. who knows.. maybe Luffy's final attack will fire Lucci in the Judical Tower which will collapse by Lucci's impact ^^
-
The collapsed tower may work as a bridge back to the other side.
claps That sounds perfect.
-
I think the tower will collapse and end up as a bunch of rocks sticking up over all the insane whirlpools, tiny islands of safety in the madness. And that's where Luffy will fight Lucci.
-
-

my idea! and the sliding of the tower is a counter for the fights between strawhats and cp9, i think when luffy definitely beats lucci the tower topple over…
-
I'm telling you: Fight arena.
OFF TOPIC: Am I on everyone's ignore list? I notice nobody ever reacts to my posts in any way :P
-
This story of the tower as a meter of SH success reminds me of the Saint Seiya and the clock tower in their first saga against the Golden Knights.
-
Actually the tower building a bridge to the Gate of Justice wouldn´t work for two reasons:
1. The tower is pushing itself closer and closer to the waterfall which is the opposite direction of the Gate of Justice.
2. The distance to the Gate of Justice is too far away for the tower to be even considered half a bridge.
-
Actually the tower building a bridge to the Gate of Justice wouldn´t work for two reasons:[…]
who said THIS? we are talking about a way BACK…look at the half opened bridge and the way how the tower is sliding than you can see that THIS will be possible
-
I think they meant the broken half of the tower would form a bridge between the Courthouse and Tower of Justice, allowing Galley-la & the Family to cross?
-

I think you should take a better look at that picture, then come back.
-
I think the tower will fall soon, because it would help Nami a lot to fight underneath the sky
-
Actually the tower building a bridge to the Gate of Justice wouldn´t work for two reasons:
We didn't mean a way to the Justice Gate, but to the Courthouse, which could work.
On the picture you've posted the tower looks really small, but on other pictures it looks big enough to work as a bridge back to the courthouse.
-

Oops, silly me! I get it now. Well yes, that certainly is a brilliant idea. Though I would love to see some dramatic installment such as they use the tower as a bridge and then it starts collapsing or something like this.
I guess I´m probably the only moron who thought of it like it should connect to the place before the Gate of Justice.
-
all very valid points
-
I like the idea that it simply represents the war against the government, when all the Strawhats are finally done battling (except Luffy), it'll come tumbling down.
-
Decided to revive this because this relates to the Tower… While watching the new intro, I got this crazy idea... like... totally crazy! And totally Oda!
Let's look at this silly picture I cropped.
if imageshack is being a pain, here's the raw: http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/4522/eniesluffy0cx.pngin the red: gives you a good glimpse of the distance between the two land masses.
in the green: where the slice is, and it's angle [which is crucial to determine when it will fall, how it will land, etc.. but please rememeber this doesn't take into account anything else but NATURAL events… if someone was to hit it up or tilt it or something, it would change the outcome]
in the blue: the front of the building… and where the key in my observation lies. would be an interesting sign for anyone that went there and saw it huh?
in the yellow: not sure what this could turn out to mean after it's chipped and broken, or if it already means something, OR if all of it will fall off, leaving just the "Luffy" part. i'll leave that up to someone else to play with…
The main problem with this is that the tower, naturally, will fall face down [where the sign is] and thus the word will only be seen from the bottom of the waterfall. if during a fight something was to change it, or whatnot, it could be the opposite [facing up], or anything else inbetween.
There, I laid everything out on the table… Probably something, probably nothing. Worth mentioning though.

feel free to comment: i accept both negative and positive. i'm a cool guy like that. =)
-
Eh~, that theory you made is a little out there. Good job thinking it out, but still doesn't seem plausible in the long run.
-
if im not mistaken didn't after Kaku shifted it didn't Gear 3 really knock it off
-

Yes, I think after Kaku sliced the tower, the only time the tower has moved to his current position was, when Luffy went Gear 3 to open the door. It doesn't slide on it's own. So we need another big bang to make it fall.
-
If anyone can, it would be a good idea to post all the pictures of the tower sliced to get a good comparison. We could see how it's been moving each time, and maybe ascertain how long it has. Personally, I think its somewhat stable and won't really fall on its on. It'll probably take quite some force to move it in a signficant manner. As for serving as a bridge back or something, I sort of doubt this. I think it will symbolize the fall of the CP-9 more than anything.

Chapter 405 and 406 each have 5 those pics with no change. That's too much.
Just check chapt403 p19 (Luffy goes Gear 3) and chapt410 p05/13 (last Tower pics).
There's no change that I can see. -

If the Luffy/Lucci fight wasn't underground, I could imagine Lucci being Gear 2/3/4'd into the top section of the tower, then the whole thing falling into the waterfall. Except they're underground, and the punch-through-the-roof was used in the Crocodile fight.
So…what do you guys think will make it fall?
-
I would like to see the punch-through-the-roof but with Luchi being able to handle it. And the fight continuing in the air.
-
Well the tower will fall right at the end of the last battle or the one before that, which usually is Zoros fight. But i hope that the biggest Sogeking attack of all times, sends that stupid wolfboy flying and knocks down the tower and after that everything turns into a Khazad-dum like situation.
-
I'm thinking the Zoro/Soge fight will be the one to topple it (somehow), making a bridge to the Courthouse.
Also, a question: anyone know what exactly "Enies" is suppose to mean? >.>
-

I'd like that, but: No
The tower will collapse after/during the Sogeking and Zoro fights. Maybe due to Buster Call…
-
Thanks for the heads-up, Oda.
-
I'm thinking that tower would make an awsome stage for the end of the Luffy Rob fight (on its side)

Guess I'll post all of the pictures of the tower since it was first cut in half. People sure do like looking at pictures.

Dosn't seem to have moved at all since 403…
It looks like it slid down to a point, but not a very noticable one.
-
I get the impression its not supposed to have moved at all since 403 simply because it appears to have moved slightly up or down every now and again, and that appearance of movement is probably just lack of accuracy in the art.
Not that thats a criticism before anyone objects. I just mean that maintaining accuracy as to its exact position is basically impossible so it appears to have moved every now and again, which is in fact a falsity.
Also, I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but I'd love to see Usopp or someone plant a Strawhat flag on the highest remaining point of Enies Lobby (Courthouse or Tower) just before the Buster Call arrives, and while there's absolutely no indication it'll happen, I pray it does for the simple "COOL" factor it'd bring, especially since it'd announce to the Admirals on board immediately that War had been declared and we'd get more wacky reactions for those lovable marine grunts
Edit: Although it'd be cooler again if they painted a giant Strawhat flag on the Gate of Justice!
! Or its crumpled remains if its buckled and broken as some suspect. Whichever, its all good
