RE: Chapter 446 "Doctor Hogback" Discussion
Why looks Hogback so extremly nervous when Usopp mentions Brooke? (huh, he looks a bit angry too…)
Because he presumably has Brooke now captured, and confined to his lab. Along with Brooke's shadow. I'd guess Nami will lead her team to break into his lab now that she's so suspicious of him, and Luffy and co. will be making a nice distracton, and they'll break both out, allowing him to fight and join the crew.
Also, to continue the Nightmare Before Christmas theme, Brooke's shadow will have been altered to somewhat resemble Zero, and will now be part of his fighting style. And a good pet for the crew
Why does the invisible person says "You are our new bride!"(?) to Nami…?
Cause he likes to force weak women to marry him I suppose.
And another one… when the invisible person grabbed her, it doesn't look like she is grabbed by hands... the marks on her arms are too small. Maybe ropes?
Claws? Small hands? Ectoplasm?

RE: Chapter 446 "Doctor Hogback" Discussion
Hmm, looks like Usopp and Sogeking are going to be treated like different people with different movielists after all. Usopp still hasn't brought out Kabuto.
Or perphaps it's just that Kabuto would be used to make bigger, more powerful moves. Moves which would be dangerous indoors, and which are more explosive than he feels is nessecary at the moment.
Plus, it's bigger and most likely bulkier, so his gaddy would be easier to bring out for a quick shot or two. Kabuto would need a few seconds to pull out of his bag, extend and set up etc.
You know, what if Chopper ends up fighting Dr. Hogback?
Not unless we find Hogback is actually working for someone else who we've yet to meet. More likely if he says something to upset Chopper, Luffy will stand up to him, inspire him to refute Hogback, then Luffy will go kick his ass, and Chopper will find the courage to rage on whoever he fights in the end.
Realistically though, it'd be like saying Nami could have fought Arlong since their pasts are so intimately entwined, that Sanji should have fought Don Kreig since he was threatening Sanji's home etc.

RE: Chapter 446 "Doctor Hogback" Discussion
We all know that Luffy will without doubt fight the main villain. Maybe we will have a new twist where the main villain relies on something else to fight, rather than using his own powers to fight.
I don't see why so many people are convinced/concerned Hogback is to weird to fight Luffy head on. I mean, he's a doctor like Chopper, who's to say he doesn't know Life Return, or something similiar to it. Not to mention he has fairly obvious fangs, which would indicate some classic vampire style powers, several of which would be useful in a fight - metamorphosis, high strength, flight etc.
Oh, and that stitching around his face, lord knows what that indicates, but I'd say he's more than capable in a fight. Honestly, who would have thought someone like Wapol would be able to go toe to toe with Luffy…at least for a while? Yet he did, and entertainly so.

RE: Chapter 446 "Doctor Hogback" Discussion
Is Usopp's helm in the color spread based on, or the same as Dorry or Broggys? It certainly reminds me of them. And I think it's a rifle or cannon Franky's wearing on his back, not a bazooka, hence the gunbelt. Didn't one of the shipwrights from Galley-La wear the same get up? Tilestone or one of them.
Also, since someone already mentioned this, the way I see the fights matching up at the moment are:
Luffy v Hogback - This one's a lock from the get go.
Zoro v ???
Sanji V Invisible Man - He likes to prey on weak women, and molest them, you'd better believe Sanji wants to trounce his ass. He can probably use his cigarettes to "smoke" him out. Or possibly smoke from his fiery leg move, if it can produce it.
Usopp v Hildon - He's a vampire, Usopp's wearing vampire hunting gear. He flies, Usopp's the only one who could really hit him.
Nami v ???
Chopper v Kerebros - Both beasts. And Chopper needs to over come his fear of him as well I suppose. Even though Nami and Usopp were afraid of him too.
Robin v Cindry - She just looks like a brawler, who has a plate destroying fetish - thus Robin is more suited to fight her out of the two women on the crew.
Franky v ???

RE: Chapter 442 "Adventure in the Devil's Sea" Discussion
@Jedi:
My idea is the best idea (the one in page 6) because that is what he really is (I dont know why would he stay in the triangle, but I guess its quite scary, since probably theres some kind of island with some secret of his on it)
There is a reason your post on page 6 was ignored, your idea is as retarded as the Brook equals Lafitte one, and far from the best.
Just so you know.

RE: Chapter 434 "White Beard and Red Hair" Discussion
Shanks looked more threatening than Whitebeard to me, Whitebeard had more of a "You will be scared of me face" to Shanks' "I'm bloody angry!" face.
Anywayys, can we assume now that we have 2 translations with neither mentioning relative strength levels (of any characters), that that was speculation or mistranslation?

RE: Chapter 434 "White Beard and Red Hair" Discussion
Thanks Huron and the various hosters.
I really love the design on the front of the Whitebeards ship, the big whale's head smiliing away. It's awesome, and I hope the new Strawhat ship has something even half as nice. Shanks strength is also shown off when he flicks that huge dish into the air, catches it and calmly sips it, but yea, him holding off Whitebeards Glaive/Naginata/Halberd thingy is also a massive show of strength.
I'm still disappointed by Shanks receiving his scar from Blackbeard and not Buggy, but at the same time interested to see where this will go.

RE: Zoro's sword related thread (SPOILER)
@Fire Fist:
Other than the tusks, nothing looks really "Elephanty" about that sword.
Then you're blind.
That, or you're looking for something that screams elephant and is out of place. The rest of it isn't out of place, its taking something else's place.

RE: Zoro's sword related thread (SPOILER)
@Fire Fist:
When in the sword form, all that's elephant-looking is the tusks. Perhaps that's a decoration that Spandam put on the sword. Or perhaps that's how it looks in its natural state.
The handgaurd on him is made up of 4 small, and definately elephantine legs, and there's a tail hanging of the end of the grip or whatever its called.
Not to mention the pattern on the handle, which is also part of Funkfried's elephant form. Its the stuff running from his head along his back.
