@desa:
Bigger name, doesn't mean mean they are no other big name. They were presented as such. Whitebeard wasn't really ambitious no person wonder if he's a big name or not. Ace wanted to be pirate King but found something he prefered more. Moria was raped. One Piece is impossible to find. There are plenty reason to decide to settle down. And time is one of them. The supernova have been there only for two years no wonder they're still so energic. Making noise doesn't mean you're the biggest out there.
SO you honestly don't think the supernova are big in the New World? After all the build up they've gotten. THey're called the worst generation. They're the ones shaking up the status quo right now. Yeah you can be strong without making noise, but they're active pirates and they don't seem to make much noise at all. And again, if the allied pirates were that impressive, why did they not do a SINGLE important thing during the war that didn't really revolve around getting brutally beaten (like Oars Jr.) or Squard stabbing Whitebeard after being tricked by Akainu (which was only possible because the pacifista were absolutely slaughtering the Allied pirates, but weren't even attacking whitebeard's own crew).

Also, Moria is a horrible example, since its made pretty clear he's a shadow of his former self and far past his prime, which is obviously because the new world wrecked him. Once there dreams are crushed, these guys get weaker, not stronger. Whitebeard may not have cared about the pirate king, but he clearly had a level of ambition. His ambitions were to protect the people close to him and the people who had entrusted their lives to him. He was at the top.
