Did anyone notice if Akainu's ciggarete has a brand "marine"? just badass!!! XD
One Piece 700 : His Pace

Anyone else thinks this free writer Abusa is Aokiji ?
It's Absalom. That's been confirmed, more or less.
That ship sailing away from Kidd's New World hideout is a Thriller Bark ship.

Nice chapter. So they're going to go storming Dressrosa and this will probably be the arc where Doflamingo is the main antagonist. So we have two (Law's not out yet but soon) Warlord positions that need filling. Buggy is a Warlord, which people have been saying since he got that letter. I wonder who the Warlord that they didn't name is though. Maybe Sabo? I like the idea that someone had quite a few pages ago, that Sabo will end up eating Ace's fruit, and potentially joining Luffy's crew at some point. I don't think he could be the Warlord in that case though because I don't see Oda getting rid of another one any time soon.

-
So far we know of only one way a fruit can be retrieved from a dead body without a considerable amount of time passing for it to respawn naturally.
BB is the only one who can currently do this as far as we have seen, as the dressrosa arc continues I am sure we will find out anyway.
because the 5 seconds it took for Smiley's fruit to respawn was so considerable?
-
Anyway, here's my theory:
Law told Smoker that he was going to Green Bit.
Law is actually just leaving Caesar at Green Bit for Doflamingo to pick up.
Akainu got the report of Law's activities from Smoker, and is sending an Admiral.
The Admiral is going to arrive there just in time to see Doflamingo and Caesar together.Oh Law, you bastard.
I'm sure this is how Law is scheming it out, but hopefully (and probably most likely) Dofla is already under the impression that an admiral will arrive. But then again, Dofla may only expect an admiral to arrive, but not know that he will arrive precisely at Green bit.
-
@Mr.:
Okay, so Trafalgar Law is also no longer a warlord.
Nope. He hasn't lost his status.
-
Its Absalom .
Moria's triumphal return will be as the editor of the One Piece's world newspaper.
-
My reactions while reading the chapter and/or forum posts:
Bonney appears!
Jinbe appears!
Crocodile appears!
Dressrosa is beginning!
Zou is introduced!
Wano is officially on Luffy's to-visit list!
Kanjuro is a person!
Absalom is a reporter!
The ocean has been taken over by either Perona's hollows or Monet's snow bunnies!
Buggy's status as Warlord is confirmed!
Purple Tiger the new admiral is dispatched!
Diamante, Trevol, and spade-person are teased!
Flare-Flare Fruit!
Oda, you magnificent man, how can you stuff so much into one chapter yet make 50 chapters about the Land of Death? -
Sooo…..you're saying Doflamingo used the same method to expunge the Mera Mera no Mi?
No I just would like to know how he got it, BB did not have the chance to get his hands on the Fire fruit at Marineford like he did the Quake fruit.
Thats my last response on it anyway we will find out in due course.
-
Like I said… Moria, he's going balls deep, and will probably help the Strawhat Pirates, the Heart Pirates, and, more than likely, X. Drake, bring down Kaidou.
-
Someone is just going to be with Caesar at the shore of Green Bit, Right? DD is probably banking on that, I would say.
-
Lookin @ the new MHQ, it looks like the head office of McDonald's.
Also you can see Yalkuman Mangroves behind the new HQ.
2nd SA in the NW confirmed. -
Clearly the new Admiral is Ray Lewis, oda' celebrating the super bowl victory hahahaha
-
Blackbeard's feat was only remarkable because he was able to eat two DFs.
Apparently, multiple people know how to retrieve DF powers from a dead fruit user.
That's still juicy information, but it's not one-of-a-kind. It doesn't require Blackbeard's "abnormal" body.
Doflamingo obviously can't just pull a Blackbeard and eat the Mera Mera no Mi, because he already has a fruit. -

16 chars of agree.
But b4 that we should see Moria's FB with Kaidou 12yrs ago. -
So Purple Tiger huh?
We need someone insanely strong and dangerous, most likely with a devil fruit that goes with the theme of the color purple. The only person that comes to my mind is Magellan. Impel Down is headed by Hannyabal anyway and a job with the marines would suit Magellan better then peaceful retirement. I had expected to seem him again in their ranks, but that high up there? Maybe I'm just seeing things… -

LOL I wouldn't mind that!

-
So glad there wasn't a Kaido reveal…
The guy's bound to be a hack..Long live Moria.
Before this chapter I was under the impression that only Blackbeard was able to draw out devil fruits using his own Gravity fruit, everyone seemed gobsmacked at Marineford when he did it on WhiteBeard.
That's only because he came out from that curtain with the power of both fruits. The ability to extract a fruit from it's user was known already, we learned that during Enies Lobby.

How dare you…
But! What if Kaidou IS the island of Dressrosa? You ever think about dat!?
-
Why are Chapter 699 (moved) and Chapter 700 (moved) sticky threads?
-
@Maynard:
I'm not coding anything in sugar that would require some very difficult programming :p
BB's quake ability is external and doesn't change his body. He also said his darkness ability doesn't change his body.
It's indeed fire on top of rubber after he uses his armament haki. His body doesn't turn into fire. Sanji's body doesn't turn into fire either when he kicks something right? Luffy's body is in essence rubber. Ace's body was fire.
How can luffy be both rubber and have a fire logia's intanglability?
How should I know that? , we don't know what the effects of all of this would be if he ate it.
I do know that him eating two fruits is possible and the Mera Mera will have some sort of Purpose.
Whether it's just to give Luffy feels or a power up is yet to be seen. For all we know the two abilities are used separately, like for instance we never see BB use Yami at the same time
as Gura, separate hands maybe but not together like you're implying will happen with Luffy. -

Well, I'm sure it's not COMMON knowledge,
but it's happened twice since then, so it's probably not unique to Blackbeard. -
What if Dofla's power isn't from a DF and is instead a manifestation of Haki? Then Luffy and his crew go and fight Dofla and he eats Ace's fruit in front of all of them.
-
LOL I wouldn't mind that!

Would he be the Yellow Raven or the Indigo Raven?

Top 3 One Piece arc incoming

DoFlamingo isn't a kid to go to Green Bit without wonder if it's a trap (I mean, w/o a backup plan). Unlike PH when he couldn't never imagine that Aokiji could appear, now he knows that Law controls the situation.
-
It is a contradiction due to the fact that Jinbe says and I quote "Rumors say that they're on an ability hunt right now.Somehow They've acquired an ability that allows them to kill people and take thier abilities from them " Not only BB.Just face it,you're in denial. The thing with Marco was just a speculation. And besides, even if what he said is true, there's nothing suggesting that Luffy doesn't have a "special" body like BB.Vegapunk is the only one who knows the secrets of the devil fruit. You don't,so stop acting like everything you say is fact.
Perhaps this isn't the case, but my understanding is that 'they' doesn't mean each and every one of them individually. eg if I said 'the SHs defeated CP9', well, neither Robin nor Usopp did, but the statement is still true. Therefore, surely, whether or not other people can or cannot have multiple powers is all up in the air, and has certainly not been directly contradicted.

Don't get caught up on drawing the fruit out. We know without a doubt once the fruit user dies the devil spirit moves on to the nearest fruit. Black Beard could have very well just had peaches in pockets. More likely though he did draw it out with his own ability but what makes him special is that he took and used the extra fruit. Anyone could sit idly by and wait for the fruit to appear, it's pretty straight forward.

It was said that Blackbeard has a special body, Luffy doesn't have that or atleast isn't aware of it so it's unlikely. Ace had his own adventure and powers just like Luffy.
Mihawk said in the war that Luffy has the most dangerous power by being able to make many allies. He has all 3 haki and had been trained by rayleigh He doesn't need another hax thing like being able to eat 2 devil fruits, it just doesn't fit with the story either.
-
Yeah, once again, retrieving the fruit is something that Caesar and Doflamingo have done, so it's not TOO unique.
Blackbeard is unique because he ate it. Not even the other BB pirates should be able to do that.
So, I'm not expecting the BB pirates who already HAD fruits (Laffitte), to have any new ones. -
damn, Luffy will be so pissed off when he finds out that Doflamingo has a stupid fruit and no meat. He's gonna send him flying.
-
Put the fruit in an Ace cyborg. Try to make Luffy's mind snap again.
-
@The:
Put the fruit in a Sabo cyborg.
Laughing Man, how dare you!
-
Magellan's still doing his thing in Impel Down, he's just vice-warden now, also he's hookin up with Sadi, so things seem to be going well enough for him atm.
Could be. Looks too much obvious for Oda. But, since he put Buggy as a Shichibukai when everyone expected this, I dunno. One strong thing the departs Magellan from the Admiral position is if he's the kind of guy who follows the Sakazuki's Absolute Justice.
-
Laughing Man, how dare you!
Too early for Sabo… He's the main villain of One Piece, afterall.
-

And Doflamingo having to take on an Admiral will serve as the distraction they need to destroy the factory. Shit.
I'm hoping that's exactly what happens.

But… Doflamingo stands no chance against a purple tiger. It's a freaking purple tiger!

35 pages already? Wow.

35 pages already? Wow.
I was saying the same thing. It is an informative chapter though. Lots to discuss!

Alright, some (as) Quick (as they get) Thoughts on the chapter from me.
Typical amazing transition / set-up chapter, really, with plenty of things revealed and pieces set up for the upcoming arc. I'm sure pretty much everything content wise has been brought up in the thread already, and will continue to be discussed.
What I think is one of the more interesting, if subtle things in this chapter, though – and that while I've seen brought up at least once in passing, I don't believe has been talked about much -- is the title. At face value, it seems a little odd that a chapter with so much going on in it, even by One Piece standards, would be titled after what frankly comes across as one of the usual Luffy-being-Luffy gags. I suppose it makes more sense once you realize that it's connected to the reveal of Ace's devil fruit, but I think it goes even beyond that.
Perhaps the most common complaint I see from the group of posters who, near as I can tell, must have had their puppies killed by Law when they were children or some such given how enraged they get by his presence in the manga, oh god I digress let me start over.
Perhaps the most common complaint I see from people who dislike Law is that, more or less since his re-introduction during Punk Hazard, he's had this sort of smug 'just according to plan' thing constantly going on. Put in other words, they dislike that One Piece has, in a way, been moving at Law's pace. I believe those people, especially, should love this chapter, and what it implies, because I think that the 'his' in the title is actually purposely ambiguous. Law has his pace of careful planning, which even in this chapter we see get slightly disrupted as he is distracted from his own objections to Luffy's 'wing it' attitude by being swept up into the manic, care-free pace of the Straw Hat pirates. Meanwhile, Doflamingo, who has been showed becoming enraged due to things moving Law's way, out of his control, is shown collecting himself, planning a way to get things moving back in a way he wants them to be. On top of all this, we have what is presumably one of the new Admirals being sent into action, who no doubt intends to handle things his own way.
Finally, of course, there is Luffy himself, who has and will always do things his own way, consequences be damned. If I had to say the title were referring to any specific character, which I'm hesitant to do, I would honestly say it was referring to Luffy. After all, One Piece is, ultimately, his story, and despite what some might argue, I personally believe that as such it has always moved at his pace. We definitely have one involved arc coming up -- with all the plans and counter-plans, all the the parties involved -- and in the end I am willing to say that it will be Luffy that brings all of that crashing down, Law's carefully laid plan gone haywire, Doflamingo's fiendish setups in shambles, and Luffy, the Strawhats, and his allies victorious.
One Piece, after all, moves at his pace.
