Here, Neptune says that Fisher tiger did it. Did what? To save the slaves. Borders becomes gray and he remember his talk with him:

"you mean to free the slaves?"

All borders are gray, its still a flashback within a flashback. Otohime can see that Fisher tiger has been a slave, but he still haven't saved anyone in Marijoa. He is about to.

And then the borders becomes black, we are back to the present time of the flashback after the attacks on marijoa. At this point, Fisher Tiger saved the slaves and they are worrying about the Reverie.

Cant make it more clear.

It's not a Norland or a Robin situation where the entire legend is a lie.

Its a case where details are missing. No one knows he was ALSO a slave at one point. The same way no one knows that he died of refusing to take a blood transfusion.

Yes, its a much simpler timeline if he was captured and made a slave, and then made one jailbreak and freed others while he was at it, (and thus the redline climbing was just part of his exaggerated myth) and its compelling to think that's the case, but then his talking to Neptune about going off to free the slaves, and Otohime's reactions, don't make ANY sense.

If not for that brief conversation, it would be the case, and that's kind of how Oda presented it for a little while, and so confusion has just sort of set in.

Oda intentionally didn't show us any of the rescue so that it remains hearsay and legend. He could have spent eight chapters showing Tiger storming the place and freeing the slaves in great detail… but he chose not to. (probably because Luffy is going to do much the same things eventually.)

There were actually two different jailbreaks, one for Tiger alone, (and probably not at marijoa) then a bigger one where he freed everyone, and that's where the confusion sets in.

Well it's not an exaggerated myth since he said he was going to save them and after this panel we can see Otohime crying which mean he already freed himself from slavery at this point.

…I know. That's my point.

Its nice to think its all an exageration because then we feel like we have special insight as readers. But the scene with the king means it was all true... more or less.

Really it just boils down to sloppy storytelling from Oda because he was trying to rush through that flashback (Which was the longest in the series, but still needed another three or four chapters.) This shouldn't STILL be a point of confusion more than a year later.

we can't really sure about that yet. As far as I know, they have been building this bridge aroud east blue only, and we haven't really seen people using them as transportation media aside from revolutionary armies.

well i suppose that's true.but i feel this will be important in the larger picture.also,even though only revolutionaries have been using it,we still don't know for what purpose the tenrybitos ordered this bridge's construction.earlier i assumed because they were fat lazy idiots,they wanted to travel by bridge rather than by sea.but after reading your theory,it could be something else.
also,i think all-blue is something which already exists in the OP world.i think there is a place currently near raftel where all the ocean's waters meet.
probably the backside of reverse mountain.something like all-blue definitely doesn't sound like it has to be artificially made IMO.

Anyway to summarize the flaws of the theory:

Uniting the seas isn't that much of a big deal since you can already sail the seas around the world
Making a genocide and killing every people that try to find the truth about this???
The number of sailors isn't that big, probably around 0,5 % of the total population. The project of one piece would concern a tiny part of the population: sailors who sail around the world.
Destroying these huge mass of land just for the sake of sailing is very harsh, if mother nature made these mountains, let it be.
That would makes All blue artificial which is kind of meh. A real place that already exist makes more sense.
We don't know if "One Piece" comes from Roger's words or from citizens.

Do you have any idea how it'll affect trade? Starting with the fact that more people will be working at sea. Still even tiny of population needs to travel to make big changes. Prices of products will change everywhere, new product will become accessible in places where they weren't before, ideas and technological invention will travel faster. World will change dramatically really soon.
Now present World Government wouldn't probably want that, as they have advantages over everybody else with ships coted with Kairoseki, but WG from before 800 years would love it, after all size of the empire is limited by the speed of communication between the center and far away parts and creating global sailing waters would increase that speed.

Sorry but knowing humans, there is nothing extraordinary in destroying huge mass of land to make profit. Now knowing that if we tried it could screw whole planet (as we are aware in our modern time) we wouldn't do that, but if you'd give technology to people a hundred or two hundreds years age, they'd merrily jump at the occasion.

I also like this theory because destroying Maryjoa would be a good end scenario for the WG.
Also every person who heard about the "new world order", might see here some connections.
The "New World" brings Luffy to the long hidden treasure, that is the idea of creating a united world.
And this plan is around for a long long time but it took 800 years to finally come true. :)

Of course reducing anomalies has no justification this far, but it's presented in theory.

Laboon would disagree with you. Just look at the size of that whale ramming against the red line without success of even making a significant scar, caving or whatever on it. That alone speaks of how hazardous would it be to remove the Reverse Mountain from the Twin Capes entrance let alone a bigger portion of the RL. It could be possible that on Raftel there´s a secret containing a method of how to destroy this sections of the GL. i.e Uranus or Pluto though it has been highly implied that Plutos secrecy is in Alabasta; and if so Nico Robin knows about it aready. For all we know Raftel could be within the Reverse Mountain or Under it but very few people now about its existance. F.I was under the Red Line so having another underwater island wouldn´t be such a stretch.

You know, when the new ways for trading are found, the equilibrium of the world is changing. You can argue as well that world was fine 700, since educated people in Europe knew about China and India, and they didn't need to start a big scale trade with them. You may claim that international trade wasn't an issue 700 years ago, and likewise it's not a big issue in the world of One Piece. After all changing the world is purpose of the project. Creating ways for big scale trade would result in flourish of trade (because people are always looking for profit) and simultaneous it would improve exchange of ideas and inventions.
I'm merely arguing, that your claim that the project would only affect 0,5% of population is invalid. Changes that are made in the world by creating ways for trading are something I would expect child in middle school to understand, really.

By the way Water 7 is still sinking. But people are much more better off thanks to shift in trade and economy.

On the different note, You've estimated that sailors are about 0,5% population, even though most of characters, we've seen are sailors, either pirate or marine, and on the same time you estimated that trade is not a big issue in that world, because we don't see much of it in the story. Granulations.

You think destroying mass of land is an issue? What I would be more worried of, are sea currents and how absence of said masses of land would affect it. Lets not forget, that those are crucial points where sea currents from all oceans meet. Dramatically changing the scenery could destroy the balance of those currents and affect climate on whole planet. Now that's a problem. Erasing part of continent is nothing compare to this (sure it needs few millions of people to evacuate to new homes, but it's not that bad comparing to other things that may happen). Just imagine floods, tornadoes, climate on summer island changing to winter islands and on winter islands to summer islands in span of few years, half of world's crops devastated due to changes climate, animals dying out. Of course the theory apparently assumes, that it won't happen without any explanation. So unless Ancient Kingdom had scientists good enough to prove that anything of the sort won't happen it's rather not plausible, that they wanted to do such a thing. If they hadn't it would make WG from 800 years ago good guys, who wanted to stop recklessness.

i agree.one piece should be something that fits in with the theme of ,well one piece.the trade relations look good from what we've seen,there are things available from other seas in logue town,AFAIK,and as kirk said it was the same in alabasta,it has a flourishing port city,all jaya needs is booze,water 7 is an exception as it was sinking.and well,even if you assume that the trade does indeed get improved,it doesn't feel right with the flow of the series.the series focuses heavily on adventure,freedom and many other things,with trade not being one of them.
and i do find it weird that the present WG,which was earlier a group of 20 kings,are so vehemently opposed to the unification of the oceans that they killed an entire island just so they couldn't even know of the idea.

I'm not saying Oda will come with trade issues. For that to come in play we would have to assume that theory presented in this tread is true, which I frankly doubt. However if this theory were true, than, yes new trade possibilities would affect the whole world, so project One Piece would affect more than 0,5% of population, as was your claim. I just don't think you've come up with good argument against this theory.
I'm basing on the fact that, any good fictional world has to have people, who act in way similar real humans would. That includes most basic mechanism of how societies work. If not specified otherwise people in fictional world would behave in analogical way people in real world would, given the conditions. Author does not need to emphasis it, hints that trade is part of that world are given, and that's enough. It's also shown, that The plot of One Piece takes place in a world, that is not revolving around main characters and there actions (although they make an impact) and has it's own political and social issues.
But is any of us competent to tell what social matter Oda will come up with to make the background for his story?

I want to emphasize that this might not be the whole theory yet. I mean, Oda has given us little to no clue about the One Piece so far. I'm aware that there are many unreasonable points of the theory, but think of it.. most of them are not explained yet rather than being invalid arguments, like some people think artificial all blue would be lame, yet there's no statement which it was already there in the first place. Or the trading and sailing stuff, there's no telling that other countries beside W7 are totally untouchable by this issue.

So the theory could still develop further beyond our measuring, or it will dies slowly as Oda turned out to be taking a completely different path, either way. But I'm personally betting myself (and all of you as well) that at least 70% of the theory has a chance to be true… I have done too much research to take my words back now, just wait and see as the story progress.
