Looks like Batman: Arkham City Wii U will have new DLC in the not distant future.
-
Single-player Robin DLC is on the way: http://kotaku.com/5898698/rumor-new-batman-arkham-city-story+based-dlc-will-focus-on-robin
I… honestly don't care.
-
I already traded in my Batman: AC game and I have no intention of paying to get it again until the Wii U version comes out..
-
I still have the game simply because it wasn't worth the trade in price…
but I dont really care so much about this at all. 6 months down the line on a game I aint played for 5....
Might aswell just wait for the goty edition
-
It depends on how much it costs, but if the price is decent, then I'm looking forward to it. I liked Arkham City's take on Robin (he wasn't a huge joke, or incredibly out of place in the game's world), and I felt that he was underused in the story itself, since he only made one token appearance halfway through the game.

Even after all the bitching and moaning about his design, his inclusion, it's pretty weird to see people complaining about him not having much relevance in the story or him not having a lot of lines.

Batman: Arkham City: Harley's Revenge Revealed
crap I'm starting to regret trading in AC alittle bit now.
-
..Excluding the fact that you'd trade in the best Batman game ever period, that is some awesome news. Man, 2 HOURS of gameplay, this is too good to be true! And you can play as Robin! Sweet, hopefully he actually has a voice! (Didn't he not have one in his dlc?)

Only Nightwing didn't have a voice.

Awesome stuff; Can't wait for this to arrive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Arkham City was incredible, and this will make it sweeter!

WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS!?!?!?

WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS!?!?!?
Cause I had the game completely beaten riddler trophies and all.
-
May is going to be a good month for me. A very good month indeed.
-
Cause I had the game completely beaten riddler trophies and all.
I kinda expected that's the reason.
The game is worth keeping and replaying just like Arkham Asylum.

I'm unable to do that. There are only a few games I have ever played through a second time and I technically played through it again already by playing the New Game+
-

Not really since Asylum was a bit more shallower in the amount of content.
-
I'm 17 Riddler's story things left. And just the virtual training left to complete quest related.
I had a blast, but it was too short, An intensive weekend, and labor day was enough to get it to 71%..
-
I think I'm missing a few Riddler Trophies too. Kinda got bored of them.
I'm still waiting for the 30 hour game a good portion of reviews promised.

Very much this ^_-

Kinda of counter-intuitive since the Riddler Trophies are tied to game's length.
-
A heads-up for my fellow PC gamers: This weekend, everything Arkham is 50% off on Steam. Just grabbed myself Arkham City and the skins pack for under $20.
-
Yeah, I saw that. To be honest I still haven't finished the first one. It's a nice game but I just never feel like playing it.
-
apparently there are 3-4 easter eggs that haven't been discovered by anyone yet.
-
I love how he doesn't know if it's 3 OR 4.
-
It'd like to know which of the secret ones that HAVE been confirmed, the article doesn't really say. They mention 1 or 2 of them. It's possible they haven't seen some of the fan's discoveries.
-

I always thought these were just incentive's to play the game more. I mean the guys who made Mega Man 9 and 10 are still saying there easter egg's not found in those games yet.
-
I feel like they're trying to hint at another secret room like in Arkham Asylum that showed plans for Arkham City. And no one ever found that. They had to come out and be like, "Hey guys do this!"
Which will probably be thecase again here, as no one wants to go around blowing up every wall in Arkham.
Now if we could organize a joint team effort of about a thousand people with each person being responsible for one room (or side of room for those huge ones) on each floor of each building. And of course, people going around doing it on the streets, then it shouldn't take too long to find it…

So…The Harley's Revenge DLC was released today. Any thoughts? This here is a pretty fair review of the Arkham City Addition:

Just bought the game of the year edition and WOW! This game is unreal I like it better than AA already and that game was fantastic. Plus all the DLC included doesn't hurt ;)

Oof. Ouch. Guess I'll skip this one? I'll see what others have to say, but that sucks. I wouldn't mind waiting another 2 years for the next Batman game by Rocksteady, as long as it's as good or better than it's previous installments.

Your Mileage May Vary I remember Gamespot giving a scathing review of Mass Effect's 2 Arrival DLC and was nowhere near as bad as they made it out to be. And this looks to be more of the same along with some over-expectations.
-
I saw a chunk of it played (the ending of it) and it was total crap, I doubt the couple hours that proceeded it were different.

Yeah, I agree. I didn't buy the DLC, but watched the walk-through on YouTube (didn't really care about spoilers) and….it just ended. Like Abruptly and without warning, lacking any emotionally powerful sense of closing. You kept hoping for a proper follow-up & ending scene, but it never appeared.
That, and Harley's digitized ASS was shoved in our faces in nearly every one of her cut-scenes. There's a limit, you know. It's a sad day in the gaming industry when designers spend more time on perfectly shaping fictional assess than on plot substance and emotional connection.
-
As someone who did waste money on this, if you're for some reason on the edge about trying it to see how bad it really is, DO NOT BUY IT. It was a waste of time and money and contributed fuck all to the story and the game.
Allow me to briefly mention just how disappointed I am with Rocksteady and all the DLC for this game. It's all been bad and unnecessary, and no I don't count the Catwoman story as DLC, as that should have been on the effing game to begin with. I was underwhlemed with how short the game was, but I placated my disappointment with the idea that we were going to get some damn good DLC. So far we've had some stupid skins, terrible maps with Robin and Nightwing, and now this.
It really does worsen my opinion of the game, simply because of how lacking the campaign when compared to the scope of the story.
-
Yeah, Kevin Conroy lied to us… or more likely was misinformed.
-
Y'know, in the last half-hour, I came up with a superior (in my own strictly personal opinion) and more tragic storyline for the Harley's Revenge DLC than what Rocksteady actually gave us.
General Rundown below:
! In the weeks since Arkham City, Harley has become extremely delusional after the Joker's death, sometimes speaking to the Joker in hallucinated conversations, and at other times hallucinating that she and the Joker have a baby, or just hysterically screaming at Batman, Robin, or her Henchmen. Harley is convinced that the Joker can be brought back to life with an "extremely special medicine" derived from the unique chemicals in the Lazarus Pits (before they were destroyed in the main game). However, before an unknown individual can supply her with this drug, she and her goons kidnap GCPD officers and drag them to Joker's old base in the Steel Mill District as Hostages for Batman to rescue with individual Joker Gas bombs strapped to their chests. Batman infiltrates the District to de-arm the bombs, and succeeds in freeing all the hostages only to discover that de-arming the bombs triggered the injection of an extremely poisonous neuro-toxin that kills all the officers shortly after being rescued.
! Meanwhile, Quinn heads to the clock-tower to kidnap Oracle, whose slow, painful torture is her real goal; attempting to finish what the Joker started (when he paralyzed her in The Killing Joke) and to emotionally wound Batman. Robin arrives, but is initially blocked by Oracle's high-tech security system that she has placed over every floor of the clock tower, now under the control of Harley. Nevertheless, Robin gets around Oracle's system (a challenge at that!) and dispatches more of her henchmen, but Harley escapes with Oracle in the "Joka Choppa" and heads to a previously inaccessible section of the Steel Mill District to rendezvous with the unknown individual.
! Once there, the individual - who she hallucinates as her previous split-self (Dr. Harleen Quinzel) - orders her to medically experiment on Oracle in exchange for the "Miracle Drug". Furious over the deaths of the GCPD officers, Batman tracks her down and frees oracle, but Harley once again escapes. It is at this time that the individual Harley was (supposedly) talking to is revealed to be the lifeless, voiceless Scarface-Joker puppet (meaning that puppet is NOT in the crib room as seen in the actual DLC).
! With a sense of dread coming over him, Batman races back to the room the crib was in only to see Harley standing there, singing "Hush Little Baby" to a small bundle in her arms, now completely lost to the delusion that the Joker, herself, and their newborn child are all one big, happy family. Unbeknownst to the mentally unstable Harley, the bundle is revealed to contain multiple grenades (which was switched out with the Scarface doll in the cradle by the TRUE unknown individual earlier). As Harley leans in to give her "baby" a kiss, the grenades go off, killing Harley and destroying the room before Batman could do anything to save her. In despair over more loss of life, Batman can only yell out in anger and sorrow.
! While shifting through the debris later, Batman finds a tape-recorder addressed to him and listens to it. The voice is that of the "unknown individual" - now revealed to be the Scarecrow - who claims responsibility for Harley's descent into insanity, having medically experimented on her with his Improved Fear Gas after the Joker was no longer around to protect her. The Scarecrow gleefully explains to Batman how he lied to Harley about the existence of the revival drug, rigged the bombs with the neuro-toxin, and manipulated Harley's emotions, playing on her worst fears of Joker's death & the trauma of her Miscarriage for his own interests. He explains that the entire ordeal meant nothing to him aside from the chance to conduct research on "New Developments", and warns Batman that they will not fight now, nor the next day, but soon. Batman crushes the tape-recorder as the message ends, and all we see is Batman's back as the screen fades to black and the DLC ends.Wrote that on the fly.
Good way to play on Scarecrow's eventual return (who was hyped up by multiple clues in the main game) and a tragic, bittersweet way to remove Harley from the equation (who's pretty much useless as a villain now that the Joker's gone, as she can't even carry a DLC by herself).
-
Well I finally bought the game and give it try… Comes in 2 days.... Still not convinced if I will like it but most people are praising it.

Universe? Getting a bit a head of yourselves aren't we, Rocksteady? You still got Nation and World to get through.
-
Arkham Universe? How is that even possible with Superman around?
-
-
Heh "Universe'' is either a misdirection or a line for a comic book series based on the games.
'"Arkham Night" sounds about right for a third game title.

Considering the lazyness and lack of context of it not really.

If it's that Silver Age prequel that was rumoured a while back, Arkham Origins might work. Or it could be none of them, and all of these domain names are meant to throw us off.
