Cyke kept telling his people that he didn't want a war, but at one point enough is enough.

So Cyclops was being a dick, got it.

No, Captain Unamerica was being a dick, as usual. Cyclops was being nice for once. Mr. Fantastic, the smartest man alive, said the Avengers were being whiny little bitches because they weren't on top anymore.

I understand your dislike for the Avengers and your right they were whiny. However, there was the matter of the overpowering cosmic entity that has been known to be a bipolar bitch half the time. They figured it was only a matter of time before they would lose control of the power that was supposed to destroy the world.
Now you'll argue that this reason was apart of it, but Mr Fantastic was correct in his assumptions, as much as the Heros hated to admit it, they didn't want peace to happen. It's the common question of once one side has won or lost the big fight, what do they do now. The only thing they really know is peacekeeping. Luke Cage seems to be the only one who can see that he doesn't need to live that life anymore, but others don't have the luxury of having what he has, a life outside the costume.
EEH whatever, love it when I make a point then I dismantle my own point…effective aren't I?
-
The Phoenix can be controlled though. The only time it went wrong was when Mastermind manipulated Jean. Marvel conveniently retconned that, as well as the years of Rachel and Jean being fully in control. During New X-Men it even said that no harm would come to the Earth as long as it was there to protect. Everything to make the Avengers the hero in a story that has been the driving force for the X-Men's actiosn the past SEVEN years. It's beyond sad.

Haven't kept up with the comics, but I couldn't help but think of this whenever I hear about Mr. Fantastic offering an opinion. I've never really read The Fantastic Four comics though I know Ant-Man and Mr. Fantastic tend to have the biggest reputation of being dicks. -

lulz at the terrible shit company DC. Utterly shameless.

Anyone else here a fan of the New 52 Teen Titans?

Obviously not him:

Retcons are always beautiful. What's the point of establishing that Batman had been Batman for more than 5 years to accommodate all the Robins if they're gonna retcon some Robins away from Batman?
Nevertheless, I won't agree that DC is a terrible shit company. They've been putting out more things that have my interest recently than anything Marvel has put out recently.
-
Pre-nu52 maybe, but currently it's an endless retcon extravaganza because DC needed a quick buck to overtake Marvel. Only a couple of select titles are truly great (Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash) and some are just fine, but most are shit books written by people who are still stuck in an early '90s mindset and they just can't write a thing. Marvel's problem is that they have their annual shitty events, but most of their books are great and they keep bringing in new talent.
-
Thats all IYO. I like them both, but DC has more of a variety.
-
So now we have the Uncanny Avengers…Eeh...guess we'll have to see where this goes...

Is Starfire in any of the new dc comics?

Yes, In Red Hood and the Outlaws. However, when she first appeared in the New 52, she was a bit more…promiscuous. I'm not sure if that's changed recently, as I've stopped following that series.

It so confusing with all the ''new 52'' comics.
-
The new 52 have either really good ones ( Ravager IMO) or completely shiity ones( static shock, fact)
-
how is the series fear itself?
And how is or was the representation of heroes/vilains/mutants from Marvelin the Iberian Peninsula? -
just read Batman #13, it was amazing.
The joker is back! and that cliffhanger was O_O
and I hear scott snyder will be writing a new superman book sometime next year.
on the marvel side avengers vs. x-men was a big let down but uncanny avengers #1 was pretty good.
Cant belive they are replacing amazing spider-man with superior spider-man.
I heard dan slott say that spidey and mj are getting back together but the new spidey isnt peter or something, wtf -_-NYCC day 1 is 50/50
scott snyder superman = good
superior spider-man = bad. -
Dat Uncanny Avengers O.O
! I had almost forgotten how completely sadistic and downright evil Red Skull is…Freakin guy stole Prof X's brain!
I didn't really mind the ending of AvX, as it ended exactly how I thought it would. What I really hated was Scott playing the "end justifies the means" shtick that reminds me how much I hate him, that and the fact that he has completely glossed over Chuck's death as an "acceptable loss"
-
Xavier also glossed over mindraping his "son" multiple times, sending his teenage brother to his death and enslaving sentient beings as acceptable measures to protect the dream.
That's why it's so hilarious that Wolverine and Cap are so in love with that guy now. Wolverine called Xavier a bastard not that long ago and Cap has never even interacted with him.
-
I got Red She-Hulk 58 today, Its was pretty great read in my opinion. Betty was pretty interesting in this issue.
-
'Blue Beetle', 'Legion Lost', 'Grifter' and 'Frankenstien: Agent of Shade' will all be cancelled as of January, after 17 issues.
Well, guess I don't have to make the call to pull Beetle from my monthly orders now (though I'm still giving up on Action Comics). So damned disappointed.
-
It's a little too early to say because there's only two issues out, but All-New X-Men is wonderful. Blew away my low expectations and made five incredibly bland characters and a tired concept cool.
-
I got volume 1 of New 52 Flash a little while ago. Freaking awesome! I love the art the most.
I also got Superman #13. Superman quitting his job at the Daily Planet is different, but it seems cool.
-
Don't know if anyone else is reading it here, but IDW's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is getting a new artist as of next month's #17, with Andy Kuhn handing over the reins to Ben Bates.
"Who is Ben Bates", you may ask? Not surprised if you haven't heard of him; he's pretty new to the industry, his first published work was last year. He's become well known to fans of the Sonic the Hedgehog/Mega Man comics series though, as he's worked on the two Archie titles since last year.
His style isn't as rough as Dan Duncan's or Andy Kuhn's, taking on a slightly more cartoonish look. But his lines, emotions and action dynamics are AMAZING. Want some proof of this? Check out his blog, this page with some TMNT sketches from last year, or this piece on his DevART page.
And here's his cover for #17:
!
I read Sonic the Hedgehog, and I saw his work for the series last year. I'M SO EXCITED YOU GUYS. -
Dang, the next isssue of TMNT looks crazy.

Yep; 17 starts an arc a lot of the readers have been waiting on, and some surprising characters returning to a TMNT universe.
! We're going to be learning the truth about General Krang's plans, as well as the Turtles coming face to face with the Shredder.
! And the fun thing is the three humanoids on the cover are spot-on redesigns of Kala, Zak and Dask, three characters from the 80's cartoon. They're Neutrinos of Dimension X, which back then meant they wanted no part of war in any side, just to have fun. In the IDW comic, Neutrinos are a little different… -
Wait theyre cancelling Blue Beetle? Nooooo

That is fantastic news! I loved Duncan's work, but as soon as Kuhn took over, I felt disappointment in the art. Kuhn did some weird things with characters teeth that didn't gel well with me. Bates, meanwhile, was pretty great on his Mega Man and Sonic work, like you said. I enjoy him, and giving him the Turtles seems like a great fit.
Really enjoying the TMNT book from IDW. The recent annual was very nice, with art completely by Kevin Eastman. I get the tribute to the original, but I wish they had done it in color anyway.
On recent issues:
! I really like what they have done with Slash. But I was interested when they noted that Slash was subject #6. I think I remember them saying Splinter wasn't officially one of the test subjects, since he was just around and freaked out April in early issues, so if the four main Turtles are 1-4, who is 5? Is that a window to bring in an IDW version of Venus, perhaps? Or is Splinter #1 and I am mistaken?
-
Just read through Formerly Known as the Justice League. That was probably one of the most amusing comics I've ever read. I hope I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League is just as fun.
-
Has anyone heard of the leak about Amazing Spider-Man 700 and what it means for Superior Spidey?
-
I'm trying to stay unspoiled on that, so if you're going to start a discussion about it, please use a series of spoiler tags.
-
Wow. I don't read comics at all, but that issue #700 of Amazing Spider Man is trippy.
But anyways, I came across that spoiler because I read something happened in #699 that I had to look up to believe. Why did someone write that? That's just messed up.
-
^ Well shit .
-
I read ASM 700. It was great, emotional satisfying stuff. Haters gonna hate. I'll buy the real comic when it comes out Wednesday. Dan Slott is the best Spider-Man writer.
-
I just caught up on saga and that is a fantastic comic book.
-
Why does DC keep putting "The New 52!" on their covers?!?
I mean, they can't do that forever!
Unless they're using it as a subtitle!
All the New 52 is part of one great big universe!
And it's only temporary!
Hurray for horribly-wrong optimism! -
There are things I haaaaaaaaaate and things I loved about Amazing Spider-Man 700. It's a good story, but, man, that ending… I'd rather either of the two fake-out endings were the actual end.
-

Yea that was kinda weird. You're right that ending was out of place should have been better.
-
Wow.. I'm reading the comments from various sites and everyone is just shitting on what just happened LOL
-
You'd think people would be used to the longevity of comic book deaths by now. Amazing Spider-Man 2 comes out early March. Peter will be back by that point.

Yeah, but this is Peter Parker we're talking about.

Here are comics that I got for X-mas.
Ms. Marvel Volume 8
Ms. Marvel Volume 9
Justice League Dark Volume 1 -

I'm not doubting that Peter won't be gone forever in 616. He'll be back. It's how it happened that bothers me.
! Like I said, if Peter had killed Ock-Spidey and himself with the fall from Avengers Tower, I would have been fine. I actually would have loved it. Or if he successfully did the brain-switch and was too crushed to continue to be Spider-Man once he got his body back, that would be fine too.
! But for Doc Ock to just WIN and take his body and life. Even if he is now colored by Peter's creed and past experiences, he isn't Peter. He has a darkness and uncaring heart. They say that Spider-Man and MJ are getting back together. Every single time Ock-as-Peter touched MJ this issue, it made me cringe, because that is flat out tantamount to rape. She accepts Peter to kiss her, not some creep in his skin.
! I like Dan Slott's events and his overall presentation for stories, and recognize that he is a huge fan, but man, it was just so damn horrible, in my opinion, to have it all end that way. -
!
-
LOL at both Dan and Stan. I will say this Dan Slott is one of my favorite writers right now. I'm really enjoy Dan's run on She-Hulk and as well his current run on Spider-Man.
-
I was wondering if there is some kind of schedule online where i could see the releases of new dc books, not the issues but the volumes.
