Wow, this is a serious soundtrack. How you remind me and bad reputation really clash against the rest(bad reputation even more so). Lots of drums and quite a few sad tracks.
I love the first track(Zeal) and this song just kind of a really melancholic navy song:Actually, really sad. Thank you for sharing that, fullmoon.

Those track previews on Amazon really undersold this soundtrack. Though a few tracks sound like repurposed old OST or Strong World tracks, there was quite a different feel to the whole thing overall. It was a lot heavier and less whimsical than a lot of the other soundtracks, which I suppose makes sense given that this film seems to have a heavier air than usual. I liked the tribal drum style for the action tracks, and that recurring chime motif was interesting.
My favorite tracks were the melancholic sailors' hymn, ''Z vs. the Straw Hats'', ''Aokiji's Appearance'' (sounded like something from Tanaka's work on Gravity Rush), ''A Grand Battle'', ''Z's Tragedy'', ''Endpoint's Menace'', and ''Fierce Battle'' 9really liked how it combined battle music for Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji, and Sanji's Movie 10 theme got a nice little rearrangement).
I'm kind of disappointed that there's no grand ''final move'' type of track, but I suppose it makes sense since
! there is no ''final attack'' this time around.
Anyway, it was definitely worth listening to, and I hope the anime doesn't take like half a year to start including it in the TV show like what happened with Movie 10.

Not sure if this information has been shared but a well known Chinese scanlation group posted Z's life event timeline based on information gathered from Volume Z and the movie. Contains no movie spoiler but obviously information on the character Z and a potential revelation of a new Shichibukai(?):
! At age 14, joined the Navy academy, aspired to be a marine hero;
! At 18, first battle;
! 28, Promoted and mastered Rokushiki, realized that not all marines are heroes;
! 34, Earned the title/nickname "Z of Black Arm" for his superior mastery of COA;
! 38, Promoted to Admiral, loved by subordinates, married in the same year, this is the time period when Roger and WB reign supreme;
! 39, His son was born;
! 42, Family murdered by pirates, requested to resign from the marines but was convinced by superior (Kong?) to stay and assumed an instructor type of role (think post-war Garp); The same year, Sakatsuki(23) and Borsalino(26) joined the marines and had been known as "monsters" for their revealed potential;
! 44, Kuzan(19) joined the marines;
! 50, Continually instructing students (including many modern day VAs)
! 65, Right arm cut off by a pirate;
! 70, Marine scientist equipped him with the giant robotic right arm;
! 73, The pirate who cut off his arm joined the Shichibukai rank;
! 74, Film Z event time
! It is also noted that Z actually at one point caught the pirate who cut off his arm, but the pirate later escaped.
! So, given the pirate who managed to cut off the arm of former admiral Z joined Shichibukai rank a year before movie timeline, and we know it cannot be Buggy, and very unlikely Law and BB, it is likely gonna be a new character, and by the last bit of info a lv 6 Impel Down escapee. -

I have to say that the entire soundtrack is just amazing, even Avril's songs. I can't really put it into words, but I feel like this offers something new to the various One Piece tracks we already have that we haven't had before. Even the fight tracks have a certain uniqueness to them, and I can already picture some of these tracks in certain scenes in the next anime arc. The second to last track was also an interesting rehash of a Strong World track, which caught me off guard but was entertaining none the less.

Everytime I read something new about this movie I become more excited about the Marines, that is I've just read about Z's timeline and the dude seems to have grown through alot of character development. Also the possibilty that the new Schichbukai is a level 6 prisoner is very interesting.
It also seems that the top brass' way of keeping Marines who want to retire is to tell them to stay as instructors
