Alright, my rundown of Nintendoland is as follows:
Captain Falcon's Twister Race - what the heck. you steer with gyro controls, and navigate through basically an obstacle course. it's only one player, you aren't even racing against CPUs, and there's no sense of speed. lame.
Octopus Dance Dance Revolution - this is only related to Game & Watch on a tertiary level, but whatever. you use the sticks to move each arm (something I love whenever a game does it) and follow the simon-says rhythm. it works well, but seems like a glorified Mario Party game.
Donkey Kong's Rage-Inducing Roller Thing - piss and crap this game makes me angry. you tilt to roll a cart through this maze of things, and press shoulder buttons and stuff to manipulate the track. it controls very well, but I'm stuck on one part that I don't even know how I'm supposed to get past it because physics stopped working and the game began running on pure hatred and frustration.
Yoshi Cart go Round - draw a line to make the yoshi cart pick up fruit and get to the goal! only catch is, you can't see the fruit on the gamepad, so you have to guesstimate when you draw. this ends up being only marginally more fun than drawing lines on paper and giving yourself high-fives.
Takamaru's Ninja Castle - fun theme, you flick shurikens at ninjas, shooting-gallery-style. Would've liked it better if you just, you know, pointed and pressed A, but whatever. I'll get used to the flick controls. I really hope this means a new Takamaru game is in the works, because samurai ninja shenanigans from nintendo sounds like fun.
Balloon Bit.Trip.Beat - much better control than regular balloon fighter, you navigate through courses trying for the high score and such. I'd actually much rather have a vs mode, but I suppose it's fine. One of the better single-player games.
Pikmin Party Clash - man, this one is good. olimar could probably solo levels himself, but having friends play as independent pikmin is fun and makes it easier, if more chaotic. lots of levels, love the style, makes me want Pikmin 3 even more. 10/10 would buy full retail game
Zelda Arrows n Swords time - the controls for the bow confused me at first, but I got it. Again, other players running defense with swords makes it easier and more enjoyable. yarn styling is cute. haven't played much of it, hoping there are some neat bosses and level variety.
Mario Chasers - one player is mario and can see the whole screen, they run away from the toads who share split-screen. It's just a game of tag, and since everyone runs at the same speed it's harder to catch the runner than you'd think. I would have liked to see jumping implemented, tho. Feels like the most basic example of "asymmetric gameplay" they could think of.
Metroid Math Blaster - good asthetic, 3rd person metroid shooter. haven't played much, and not with a partner who's a decent shot so I can't say much, but I kinda like it. vs mode might be fun.
Animal Crossing Candy Hoarders - gamepad uses the sticks to control both guards, trying to catch the runners who are trying to eat all the candy. 1v1 puts stashes around that the single player is trying to move all the candy to, this works better than multiple players each trying to eat a bunch (and slowing down in the process)
Luigi's Spooky Haunt - fun times. haven't played with more than 1v1, where CPUs make it winnable for the ghostbuster. definite promise here.
a general tier list would be as follows:
1 Player Games
B: Zelda, Takamaru, Pikmin, Metroid
C: Balloon, DK
D: Octopus
F: Yoshi, C. Falcon
Multiplayer Games
A: Pikmin, Luigi, Zelda
B: Metroid, Mario
C: Animal Crossing
