I think this blackness is Oda saying "This is haki" but before Raleigh's explanation (when we saw most of these) he wanted to keep haki mysterious so he left them uncolored.

To whoever asked why Law didn't switch himself with Vergo, remember that Dfs stay with the bodies, not the "heart", which means that Law would have given Vergo his own DF and therefore the power to switch them back. He wouldn't be able to do it himself.
There are 2 ways to find out if it is Oda's way of showing us Armanment Haki, or if it is a special kind of Haki that only Luffy and Welgo have been seen using, or even if it is a Luffy only thing, and Welgo has indeed a DV that makes his limbs black.
Have we seen any character commenting on Luffy's/Welgo's blackening since it first happened? Something in the lines of '' why is his arm black'' or something? And also have we seen any other character using CoA haki after we first saw Luffy's limbs turning black? Because if we have seen, and they weren't coloured black, then this means that it is a Luffy thing only, or just a special kind of Haki. CoA may have differnt uses after all, the common and most easy, that isn't drawn black, and another one, more difficult to achieve that produces greater results that only Luffy and Welgo know from the characters we have seen so far (and Rayleigh probably, who taught Luffy about haki in the first place).

Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I can tell every time post timeskip CoA haki has been used without a change in color to black (Luffy vs Pacifista, etc.) it has been made clear that it was haki (like Sentamaru confirming haki use in the previous example) so I think that Oda is just using the blackness so he doesn't need to draw an exposition panel confirming haki use. So I would agree with the latter aswell.

Vergo vs Smoker will be epic.I think smoker will win considering he has trained for 2 years and lost to law early in punk hazard arc.Oda wont make him look that weak as hes the Monkey D Garp version of this generation for sure.Also as this will be a physical fight pretty much we will get to see smoker's full potential post timeskip.He cannot be some cannon fodder as hes VA but got pawned by law so no more embarrassment.
Vergo is cheating, he is not naming his attacks so he doesn't spend time doing so. Stupid Law is naming them so Vergo knows what's coming up.

People can actually touch air, if you`re breathing you are touching air, move your hands and you touch it too. Whether we feel it or not or if we are able to handle and grab the air to manipulate it those are another issues altogether but we are certainly in contact with it. We just lack the "keen feeling senses" to grab hold of it

The blackness is not used for showing when CoA is used, it is just another technique of CoA. Luffy also used CoA post-TS without his limbs turning black.

yeah, thats before luffy used to specifically mention the "armament haki" thing when he used elephant gun…thats what it seemed to me, because after that, all the attacks that was infused with haki became black. so for now (for now) that's how i viewed vergo did, not vulcanization per se, but also hardened his attacks using army haki.

Hope so, Would love to see him, brook and Robin play a bigger part in the story then just being part of the group and getting rid of their opponent as expected. Oda should make them more important. Other then Franky takes care of the boat.
Brook has found Kinnemon to help him shine some more.
Franky had that radical beam where Ceasar was interested in but that seems pretty irrelevant right now, CC has his hands full. Hope he plays a nice part in the story soon.

Re-read the chapter. Chopper is a moron. As people already pointed out, he should have used Guard Point. That thing stopped the kraken, no way these kids are this strong (they're already stronger than Kumadori apparently). And Law could have shambled his heart away (Vergo would still kick his ass but not as much)..Oh well.

I have some problem with "just a shichibukai" being a shicibukai doesnt mean they are weaker than normal VA..see for yourself BB before TS, mihawk, donflamingo, kuma…all of them are mighty strong and ofcourse Law himself is super strong with his crazy ability. I think the only weak ones are gecko moria and croc...croc had cool power..but his physical strength was shitty..maybe got too cocky being a logia user...(a weak one at that..i mean cmon a power which is weak against water is a huge drawback)

Whether Smoker can deal with Vergo or not, the bolded is not an argument against his victory. Smoker asked to be moved to G5, then he got promoted. Vergo was already the commander of the base. It's just a coincidence that there're two Vice Admirals stationed in the same base, with one being the superior of the other.
Who honestly has there username as One Piece fan and doesn't even comprehend what beating a Shichibukai means, Va's < Shichibukai with few exceptions (but there are exceptions)

I am totally with you on this. I really hope zoro gets some action now. I mean all the main villains are being taken by luffy, atleast leave a few known ones to zoro (i mean who are introduced way before, and not some strong underling of all the main guys who just shows up for that arc). During the fight between smoker and law, there were some cool ideas shared in some forums..like what would happen against law vs zoro…scene 1 : law cuts the huge rocks and ships in pieces, scene 2 : zoro cuts the whole background with his slash...u know what I mean..i want a few scenes like that to get fangasm..

Well, I think he could hardly stop them in Guard Point, seeing how the situations are different from the fight with Surume. On land the kids should be able to pass by very easily, 'cause Chopper doesn't seem to be ablte to move his limbs very much in his new Guard Point. xD
And I guess Kumadori would be able to hurt him in Monster Point like that too, if Chopper just wouldn't defend himself against him.
also, Guard point is kind of round, and therefore not very good at plugging a rectangular hole. The kids would just walk right by him.
