If I added 3 or 4 more recoil/rest frames, it would have been smoother. I admit, I'm not toooo happy with it, but alas…. I needed to fill a page in the small sketchbook :)
And thanks. I'm actually learning how the Nichijou anime series uses color. You should give a watch if you find the time. It has this really interesting way of using the pastel colors with minimal shading.

I finally learn some basics that covers rendering trees and bushes. With some practice, I think it can go places.

About the last image. Me and my sis started a Tumblr blog, but we haven't got to doing anything. Our goal is to throw our stuff together and hopefully makit it grow into something different. What the end result is going to be is totally up in the air, but we are kind of hoping it opens the oppurtunity to go to cons together, and maybe even expand the team of two people. MAYBE. It's all a pet project at this point.

Some SS doodles. Sorry there hasn't been anything huge in a while.
I got burned out again and was a little art-blocked whilst depressed.
I'm better now though. I just sometimes wonder where exactly I can go with art, and it's all so overwhelming :)

Not sure what timeframe this is… Middle school? Idk. Tia gets that hairstyle when the current story ends. I'm not sure if I'll write it in or not, but Syn styles it that way.

And I LOVE the bold strokes and lighting choices you made in the last one, it really pops out, Dab and Evi especially.

Yeahhhh. The second one was supposed to be this nostalgic photo like thing. I was a little depressed and thought about things I've done in the past(good and bad), and it bought up my spirits by redrawing characters from an old comic. Just to remember I guess.

I guess I'll answer this here as well for content's sakes. Let's see.

Everything was drawn by hand. Everything else is digital. I've been playing around with methods to make certain drawings look traditional. The first three uses one of Photoshop's default brushes. It has this smokey texture that almost looks like dabing markers or watercolor. Combined with a texture layer on Overlay or Divide, it adds this grainy feel that looks more like wet media on paper. There are ways to do it better, but I'm still learning.

And thanks. I know there's a better way to utilize shading with this brush I worked on with the last drawing. Well, I don't really know. All I know is that there has to be, and I haven't really experimented enough to find out. Still, it was quite fun using it again.

These colors are so breathtaking! Are you thinking of ever putting out an occasional SS color comic every now and then? Or are you trying to keep color strictly for these standalone pics and have the whole comic be in B&W? Either way works as far as I see.

To answer that question… It's something I thought about, but never really wanted to try. Mainly because I have numerous ways of coloring and I'm not sure which I'm quite satisfied with. I love the water color style, but I'm going to have to practice it with backgrounds before ever attempting to comic it. There's just so many things to factor. I feel like the watercolor look would add more to the lighthearted style of the comic and setting, but I worry about how it would transition to the ridiculous scenarios I have in plan... and really.. I don't think the watercolor style would work there :T Maybe I'm just overanalyzing, but yeah. If I were to ever make a colored comic, it would be cartoony with 2 shades(unless additional shades are needed).

For more content's sakes, here's a couple of drawings.

God from South Park. And God from One Piece. Yeah, I know I used Oda's colors when it comes to Eneru's lightning. I'm just not a fan of the overuse of blue that the anime did. There was just no contrast.

hey man, I know I've not been by the forums in awhile, but I'm loving the new stuff. wish I had more time to stop by and comment more. :T I thought I saw some Nichijou a few pages back or so, can't remember. I'm about to finish the series (tomorrow). I'm in love with the baby alligator things that like a lot of things have next to nothing to do with the actual plot (<–??). clearly I must crossover all the "wani" with Sir Crocodile because I can't help myself.

But I did apapt to its style a little bit. So probally remember either that self portiat, or Nami and Vivi drawn in the style.
And I think Nichijou's "plot" is really just as the title insists. I think it's romanized "My Normal Life". It's a bit of an ironic title, but it works since the random oddball nature of the show's setting is what makes life there normal. So yeah, I really love it. Glad you are enjoying it.

I don't quite remember the baby alligator. Have the episode number it show up in?

I drew them in the computer while looking through One Piece Volume 28(because whoever did the SEs in that volume, did them amazingly). I'm sure Viz has a collection of fonts they pill and reshape for the moment, but sometimes I wonder if they are drawn on the fly at times. Either way, it blew my mind how nicely they turned out.
