But yeah. Putting aside predictions for who fights who, there ARE enough enemies to go around, considering Frankfried. So Sanji WILL be getting a fight, whether it be against Jabura, Fukurou, or Frankfried.
(It IS Frankfried, right? I've also seen it called Funk Freed and a slew of other names, so I've been going by this sicne it looks best.)
I just wonder what's going to happen when Chopper tells everyone that Sanji needed Nami's help to win his fight. More precisely, Sanji being beaten by a girl, then saved by another girl. Zoro's going to taunt Sanji with this for certain.
I just wonder how Sanji will live it down when everyone learns that Nami saved Sanji. And Chopper can't keep a secret, Zoro's never going to let Sanji live this down.
Nami saved Zoro in Arlong Park, don't forget (she freed him when he was bound and gave him swords, I believe).
I doubt it'll really matter in the end if Sanji was saved by Nami. They're nakama… after they all win their respective fights nothing else will matter.
Can someone give a mirror link. I can't download from the link Oceanizer gave for some reason. PLEASE?
you can go on JOJOHOT and see it if needed retro and anyone else..
@Cap'n:
Well, the Sanji thing went better than I thought. At least he made some effort. I'm still a bit disappointed though, but somehow I kind of respect it.
I thought I would, but I don't at all. Besides chivalry being based on bullshit, it just sucks that he won't stick it out. I hate pork so much that my body kicks it back, but if somehow a friend needed me to eat it and I said I'd risk my life (essentially, "risk it all"), you'd better believe I'd be chomping that shit. There's just so much that sucks about it. Especially how he tried to be all cool and look down on her with that shit where he stopped right before hitting her.
I really can't afford to go through the thread now, but if anyone says anything about Chopper owning Kumadori, please, think again. Beating someone up and hitting them are two entirely different things. Ask Luffy or Kaku.
Something I only just noticed, when Kumadori is about to finish Nami off, while he talks about his mother, he is crying…definately something deeper going on there..
This may be about the mini-story, but where did Lasso (Mr. 4's gun-dog) go? It's like he disappeared off the face of the planet! Also, what do you think the odds are that Bon Clay could appear in the BW mini-story again?

Yeah, I kinda agree with all that. I doubt that Kumadori is even phased.

Pardon, but your example just sucks. It is one thing for Sanji to bet his life and another to violate his own soul. You can't just shut off your own conscience unless you use drugs or hypnosis and the like. It isn't a matter of simply enduring something you dislike.
The closest comparison I have would be a mother killing another baby to save her own. Unless she is mentally deranged no mother would ever consider such a choice and it's the same for Sanji. You ask him to harm one woman to save another so of course he can't ever do it.
Moreover if Sanji were to harm a woman I believe the repercussions might be severe enough that he might never get over it. Which would mean the Sanji we know and love would be forever gone. Never more any heart eyes no more flirting with women, ever.
After all women are central to his entire mindset, he's conditioned to please them and I doubt he could ever look any woman in the eye without being reminded of his shame.
Sorry. Now I feel stupid. I had been reading the conversation about the spoiler and was getting annoyed, so even though I don't usually post, (as your can see why, cause I always end up sounding like an idiot) :stupid: and wanted to post but when I finally got to it had closed so. (very early in the morning I wrote this stupid post :stupid:) Sorry selphish!!! :bawling: No more posting at 3:00 am anymore I quess . (Or mabey not posting at all)
Going to go bang head againt a wall now.
helendragon, i don't think that is bashing. selphish said that she now respects sanji even more. read carefully, next time. <_<
Don't stop posting unless you're banned, we want people to post. I didn't even look at what you did but Selphish is a cool guy and I doubt he'll hold a grudge against you unless you stole something he translated or something equally bad.
Sounding stupid's not a crime.

Theres a big difference between doing something you dislike, and doing something that goes against your morals as a person.

Selphish is a woman.

But I feel it should be at the moment. It was that I didn't read close enough and end up sounding really stupid, already on my secound post. I don't normaly post, but I really found the past disscusion interesting but it annoyed me too. Selphish was actually agreeing with me in that post.
The whole thing reminds me of themes in my other favourite manga saiyuki which deals with this alot. (not the whether to fight a girl or not too but the whether the end justifies the means and the sort of grey in the whole good verses evil in war.)
oh and I don't think zoro can talk I mean he did handcuff himself.
@Cap'n:

Ouch, give Chopper a little more credit! I don't think Kumadori is anywhere near finished, but Chopper is getting some good hits in there! The first attack at least made him wobble, based on how he is standing. But, I imagine once Kumadori remembers to use tekkai things will change. His arm point is incredibly powerful, after all.
Damn son! Crocodiles hook is huge! His whist looks like its about to break. Hmm…huge ass hook...could he be making up for something?
@ helendragon:
Sorry for asking stupid questions, but what are you trying to say with those attachments?

This post just totally confuses me. Thins will change when Kumadori uses Tekkai AND Choppers arm point is incredibly powerful after all. If it wasn´t for the last part I would agree but putting Choppers arm point in here confuses me since it wasn´t enough to finish off Kumadori who was taken by surprise and didn´t use Tekkai.
Damn son! Crocodiles hook is huge! His whist looks like its about to break. Hmm…huge ass hook...could he be making up for something?
You know, the more I look at it the more I fear that Crocodile really fell victim to the Color Trap. That would suck big time cause a little brat would have defeated him then. If that´s truly the case then I would have prefered Blackbeard kicking his ass instead.
I really hope he acts of free will, but my doubts for it get higher every second.
My take on the Sanji thing…
What did we know about Sanji? Well, he loves women, is a great chef, fights only with his legs and thinks women should be protected, not attacked. This description has actually caused some people to comment that Sanji isn't capable of much improvement over time, since all he does is kick.
So far during this arc, we've seen at least one of his main attributes change. He fought with his hands. And kitchen knives, no less. The perfect set of circumstances arose to make him change his habits. Attacking with food in a kitchen.
So. Watch him in his fight with Califa. He's not all heart-eyed and spineless. He's actually trying, even though he's still not capable of striking her or even being really harsh in his words - but he's almost there. He actually showed her that he could have taken her out. This is not typical Sanji behavior.
I think that perhaps, with not just one (Robin) but two (Robin and Nami) women to protect, he just might be able to overcome his chivalry to the point where he'll be able to incapacitate Califa in some way. I don't think he'll be able to beat her up. Maybe trap her somehow, or find another pair of those seastone handcuffs...
Anyway, I'm hoping we get a lot of team-up battles. We all know the SH crew is capable of one-on-one fights, but they really need to learn teamwork. Luffy always knew he couldn't get the One Piece on his own, and one-on-one fights aren't how I'd like to see such a tight-knit crew conquer the world.
But I feel it should be at the moment. It was that I didn't read close enough and end up sounding really stupid, already on my secound post. I don't normaly post, but I really found the past disscusion interesting but it annoyed me too. Selphish was actually agreeing with me in that post.

What does those pictures have to do with your disscussion?
Can't seem to do anything right…..and I'm having trouble with the signitures and avatars but I found out how to attach things (like that helped at all ) sorry if You want me to remove them I can
I thought the first one summed up how I was feeling but couldn't figure out how to get the url to put it one the post (I really new here this is my forth post so far.)
really not very good at this am I
I want to know how Crocodile manages to get a smoke in prison and why the WG were willing to repair his hook:blink:

I think that the hook is made of compressed sand, or possibly glass, and that he creates it with his ability.

Calipha: Nico Robin
Sanji: …
Calipha: right now is getting step by step closer to the "Gate of Justice."
Calipha: To her, it's better described as closer and closer to "hell."
Sanji: SHUT UP!!
Sanji: I understand Robin's fate is being gambled here!!
Sanji: If you try anything at all, I'll attack you even if you're a woman.
Sanji: PLEASE GIVE ME THE KEY SO I DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT!!!
Calipha: ...heh heh..no matter how you shout, I won't hand over the key.
Page 2
Calipha: You don't have to treat me as a lady.
Calipha: I didn't grow up in such a weak little world.
Calipha: Since you already gave me such a challenge
Calipha: then I'll answer it by taking you life.
Sanji: I'm not handing over my life,
Sanji: I just want the key to Robin's handcuffs.
Calipha: Teatime
Calipha: is over then?

Sanji: ..!! The key...I'm sorry.
Nami: Don't change the subject!!
Nami: Are you trying to throw away your life by keeping your so-called "chivalry" ways!!!
Nami: Even when you end up like this you still keep it up! What if you die!?
Sanji: ...!! I..I really don't want to die...hah
Sanji: But I can't kick a woman.
Sanji: That is...
Sanji: ..even if I die

Spandam: Wahahahaha, they won't pursue us now!

Luffy: This metal gate looks really tough…
Chimney: That guy was over here doing something, it's probably to turn this keyhole
Chimney: to open the gate!!
Gonbe: Nya!
Chimney: But I don't have the key...

Luffy: Let's go!!!
Chimney: Ah ah...WHY ARE YOU THE SIZE OF A KID!??
Gonbe: Nya...!??
Guys, chivalry is chivalry. You're missing the point here. It's a strong message especially in Japan where DV is not exactly uncommon. It's not just his weakness, it's also his strength. Because of that attitude he also works to protect women. Like Nami and Robin. Sanji can't actually kick a girl's ass and that's BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW HE COULD! That's not the point, it's the very fact that he IS stronger than her and COULD kick her ass that he won't.
And there are other ways he could deal with such opponents. Sanji ain't out just yet. We'll see what Oda can do.

I guess my ordering was off. I think Chopper's arm point is a very powerful attack, but Kumadori's beating will probably change when he starts using tekkai. It is stated that arm point can easily break rock, but metal is different, so Chopper might have trouble with this. In fact, I imagine the fight will change when Kumadori just plain recomposes himself.
Also, Chopper's strength is getting put down a little too much.
Nami: And your chivalry ways…
Nami: I'm kinda impressed.
Sanji: !
Sanji: Hn?
Sanji: Did she just say she's kinda in love with me?
Chopper: No she didn't!!
thank you Zede05, you just made my day :o)

I fully agree, and that's why I expect Oda to make Sanji stand up and help Nami by fighting Calipha again. By "fighting", I mean not kicking, but protecting Nami from her blows long enough for Nami to use her new Climatact.

That is an awesome idea. How about a Califa vs. Nami and Sanji battle? Nami probably can't block/survive all of Califa's attacks, (Ms. Doublefinger gave her a hell of a lot of time) so maybe Sanji will get up and act as a "love shield." That will be Sanji's fight, another trial of love!
What the….was that supposed to be a comparison?
Im sorry but that was total crap.
Theres a big difference between doing something you dislike, and doing something that goes against your morals as a person.
I disagree. I have the same disposition against pork Buccanner does, and I have had since first grade; I throw it up upon ingestion. It's not because I hate the meat, as my body couldn't care less what I ate, but because I think pigs are the most human non-human mammals around and they're raised specifically for slaughter. Cows, chickens, turkeys, ducks, goats, sheep; only pigs are used specifically for their meat. Hence, it's a moral issue for me to eat pigs.
First, thanks to the translators, hosters, and creator (obviously Oda) for the presentation of another kickass chapter.
Second, my take on the whole Sanji thing:
Before, I was totally hell-bent on Sanji beating up Kalifa to get over this weakness. After his speech today, I'm not so sure anymore. If you look back at the fight with Bon Kurei, he did have some inner turmoil going on, but not too much, and ended up getting around the whole ladies thing. Look at his fight with Kalifa, now. More inner turmoil and almost lands a hit, far closer than he did with Bon Kurei. People are complaining that he couldn't do it, not even for Robin. But, listen to this:
Think about Usopp for a minute. His major Achilles Heel? Cowardice, obviously. Think back to his fight with Chuu - he runs away for most of the fight, then takes a hit-and-run approach until he finally wails on Chuu. But he ALMOST Ketchup-stars his way out of the fight. Then look at him and Chopper against Mr. 4 and Ms. MC. Almost chickens out at the very beginning, even with probably his best friend's (Chopper's) life on the line, but then sticks around and helps Chopper save the day and gets hit by a FOUR TON bat in the process. There was much character development in between as well, so we have to assume that more and more will happen and he will get less and less cowardly.
Sanji's lady weakness is the same as Usopp's cowardice. It's his Achilles Heel, and soon Zoro will face the exact same problem with Tashigi. The creation of a historical tragic hero, or more related to this story, an "anti-hero" (not meaning vigilante, it's just a term) requires a number of things, including a "fatal flaw". Flawed people are interesting, because they are realistic and we get to see them get over these flaws. One Piece is still young. Give Sanji time to overcome his fear, otherwise he becomes a completed character and has nothing to work for, nothing to strive or to conquer. If at the end of this arc Usopp were suddenly the bravest Straw Hat, would he have the same following he does now? No. Why should it be any different for Sanji?
Also, people; Crocodile's hook was always huge, and is very heavy. One could argue that we're looking at it from a distorted angle that makes the rounded portions appear to enlarge the hook's size, but in reality Oda does not draw everything perfectly! Remember Kurobi's arm?! Just get over it.
Looks at transltion- WTF THAT'S GEAR 3RD?!?! LOL
At any rate, it seems Califa's DF allows her to turn ppl into glass or something? Still it was nice to see Sanji get beaten to a pulp, but I was hoping that Nami wouldn't fight Califa, though I think in the end, Sanji will deliver the final blow. Thanks for the links u guys.
It actually goes against my religion, so…
Oh, in which case i profusely apologise. When you said your body kicks it out, i assumed you meant a sort of allergic reaction
Really sorry.
The question is, though, who raised Sanji to be chivalrous to women? As far as I could tell, Zeff had no desire to mingle with or interact with women. Perhaps Sanji's real parents did? We're due for another flashback with Sanji. It may also explain why we never see his other eye. XD
As for Croc, look at the reflection on his hook. It looks awfully like Betrayal Black.

Sanji's chivalry isn't really a fear, it's an ethic code. He said point blank that he won't hurt a woman, and I have a feeling he won't. Cause think about it. What would Sanji be like if he didn't have his chivalry? Then . . . he really wouldn't be Sanji. I know it's not the only thing that defines him, but it is a big part. I can see why Oda decided to go this way. And it's BECAUSE he's such a chivalrous dork that we love him so much.
However he has shown that he's not blinded by his chivalry. He knows Calipha is bad news, he's not falling all over her to be loved by her, he actually insulted her. When's the last time you heard Sanji seriously insult a woman? He would thrash her, but his chivalry stops him at the last moment.
I do think it will be interesting if he teams up with Nami to face Calipha. Whoever said something about a "love shield" might not be far off the mark. Sanji defends, Nami attacks. Could be interesting!
He did say that he was raised not to hurt women. Judging by Zeff I think it's pretty safe to say Zeff didn't teach him that. So, can we only assume his parents? I keep wondering if Oda will add a "Sanji Flashback 2". Sanji also said he was raised in North Blue (before he joined that cruise ship in East). Oda keeps bringing up Sanji's childhood, he MUST be planning something. I keep thinking that Sanji must have had one hell of a mother for him to be so worshipful of women. (maybe he inherited his looks from her too?)
Arrrgh, Oda you are frying my brain!!!!
Nami just told Sanji to go away because she'll handle Califa. While Sanji could stay to protect her, I think he trusts in her ability enough to actually LEAVE it to her and go off.
That too.
Either way, the SanNami fan in me is giggling madly. Hee hee . . . . .
I agree with this hypothesis, and I also point out that Usopp's cowardace has gone down a lot this time too, but is still not completely gone. That's why he has[/i} to finish the fight with jyabura
@Battle:
What's that all about?
In his mind, Kumadori isn't using Tekkai to survive seppuku; it's his mother interceding on his behalf by making his body use Tekkai that makes him survive seppuku.
Basically, he's a dumbass.
Hey, wouldn't it be something if that's the only way he can use Tekkai? He's still technically a Rokushiki user, but realistically speaking, he's only capable of five of those.
I'm not saying Chopper isn't strong, but in this case I'm thinking back to the Arlong arc when Arlong took several of Luffy's best attacks head on and it didn't even itch. I'm not saying that Kumadori is the same scale of opponent, but saying "LOL KUMADORI GOT OWNED" when he got in a few lucky shots is a bit premature.
Well, I take some of it back. Kumadori looked like he was hurt, but he's far far from finished.
The question is, though, who raised Sanji to be chivalrous to women?
The question really is, does it matter? He is what he is. He likes ladies.
Come on my fellow Y-Chromosome-bearing siblings of life. Are you trying to tell me you don't know how to get to the bottom of a woman's heart by whispering sweet nothings to her and making a strong mysterious facade for yourself? My fellow penis-wielding brothers, Sanji is the freaking Lady's Man of OP. The one thing you've gotta know about being a Lady's Man is, never hurt Double-X Chromosomes. In any way. Sanji exceeds at this, it's just he happens to be with two particularly resilient crew-mates.
From comic block one, Sanji has upheld his respect for women and what he just said this chapter is as 'DO-N' worthy as anything I've ever seen in the series. I sent this to my girlfriend today and she was almost in tears over the line. (DON'T LOOK AT ME WAY THAT WAY! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW I TREAT HER!) Sanji's actions in this chapter were distinctly Sanji and I think he's freaking badass as ever. Don't worry, Sanji will be on top here. Oohoohoo! You know I meant that!
And to be totally serious for a moment. I mentioned this before but there is a lot of hidden DV in Japan. In fact, it begins way before marriage. My girlfriend and I often get asked how often we actually fight (for reals) and every time our response, "Uh, we don't.", shocks whomever it is we're talking to, which in turn never ceases to shock me.
Damn son! Crocodiles hook is huge! His whist looks like its about to break. Hmm…huge ass hook...could he be making up for something?
Forget the hook, look at Mr. 1's legs. The man looks like he's on stilts. x3
