Joker jokes… Look at his lines:
- “the sad producton room, hmmm, in that case what we will do first. Destroy that room!”
- “And they are trying to kidnap Ceasar, Well, I will kill him (the pronoun ‘him’ refers here to Ceasar, not to Law), after all Ceasar is the only one in the world who knows how to produce SAD”
- “But if that happens, I’d the one that’s troubled. And you know what happens when I’m troubled? … I’ll be hard for you too but Vergo, end Law’s life”.
The first two lines are jokes, the last one is the real order, and Vergo and everyone in his crew knows it. Notice that later Doflamingo talks to Ceasar, who was listening when he said he was going to kill Ceasar. And, of course, Cesar is not worried about his life, but ready to follow Doflamingo’s instructions.
This joker feature fits well his nickname and also what we already knew about him: “Doflamingo likes to toy around with his opponents and victims in a sadistic and cruel way, as seen when he gleefully forced two Marines to try to kill each other, and forcing Bellamy and Sarkies to fight each other and suffer injuries before dealing the final blow, all the while laughing at their pain. During the battle with Whitebeard, Doflamingo is seen laughing sadistically after severing Oars Jr.'s leg. He was seen laughing when great events happened during the war, regardless of whom they affected. He found great amusement in virtually anything, from Whitebeard entering the fight, to the death of Whitebeard, to the arrival of the Blackbeard Pirates, even to the arrival of the Red Hair Pirates.“ (Source: Wikia)
Now, why Doflamingo didn’t’ act against Law before? Since he seems to have some affection for him; he even tells Vergo, that killing Law it will be hard for him too. But he knew from the beginning Law was in PH. In this chapter Vergo tells Dofla that Law’s betrayal is confirmed. But the true reason was not that he was expecting for him to come back or something, but that Doflamingo was wondering about Law’s plan. Now that he knows it, he can eliminate him.
About Vergo’s powers there seems to be two theories: (i) he is an expert in Rokushigi techniques, (ii) he is some kind of cyborg. I think the dysfunctional memory or mind he seems to have talks us more of a cyborg that is having some kind of short-circuit than other thing. But we can’t be sure by now.
SAD should not be some kind of fuel at all. If it would be that, there would be no explanation yet to understand the stopping of SAD production as a plan to defeat a Yonkou. Fuel hypothesis fail to link SAD with the objective to target a Yonkou. On the contrary, Big Mon as a junkie is still the best theory about SAD and the important key, that links clearly both objectives: to mess the NW and to take down a yonkou. If BM could kidnap Ceasar by herself and make of him her personal cooker, then it should be that she doesn’t know about Ceasar and about SAD factory’s location. I'm reposting again that theory, developed by Lord-Raileygh from mangahelpers:
@Ukimix:
SAD must be:
- something that it is produced (chapter 681 states that there is a S.A.D. production room)
- something that could be stored and transported (chapter 672 states that there is S.A.D. tankers, i.e. ships for its transportation through the ocean)
- something that in some sense is related to CC (chapter 681 states this connection when Monet figures out Law's plan / Notice in last page that third voice narrator lines give credit to what Monet says)
Now, it makes perfect sense to think that this connection between CC and the production of S.A.D is just that CC is the only person able to produce S.A.D.
Law's plan consist in acting in someway over SAD production room and over CC. It makes perfect sense to think that this action is the stopping if S.A.D production at least for a very long time.
In addition, what Law is about to do -in S.A.D production room and kidnaping CC- whatever it be, will have the effect of messing up the New World.
So it makes sense to think that the New World stability depends of production and distribution of S.A.D.
But, ey, Law's plan relates in some way this messing up of the New World with taking down a Yonkou. Notice that his plan in fact is not a plan to messing up the New World, but to take down a Yonkou and, ultimately, to be able to advance towards Raftel and the One Piece with out being loyalty to a Yonkou.
And the New World is an ocean ruled by Yonkous and divided between them.
So, it makes perfect sense to think that the stopping of S.A.D production is going to destabilize in some way a particular Yonkou, provoking some wild reaction of him/her.
But, taking in account what we know about Yonkous, none of them depends on or is stable because of the production of some kind of product… Really?... No no no, wait back. Big Mom kills entire islands when those ones fail their agreement of providing her with certain sweeties and candies rate (This, stated in FI arc).
And,… yes,... CC is an expert on manufacturing special candies with different effects (one for Smiley but some different ones for those kidnapped kids or for centaurs)
So, it makes sense to think that BM is the Yonkou targeted in Law's plan, and that S.A.D is some kind of special candy exclusively produced by CC and delivered to her by Doflamingo's organization.
Notice also that in the history of this passion Big Mom feels for candies, CC could have had an special role.
Lol at Robin as the courtesan…
Really GREAT chapter…
