The fact that they mentioned the Metagene, along with that possibly being Virgil with the kids last episode leads me to believe however is at the top of this whole plot is trying to make an army of Metahumans.
Young Justice RETURSN OMG

-
Best episode of the season by far. Loved that Peter David got to reintroduce another core YJ character, and this time my favourite one. Looks like he'll be sticking around too!
-
I'm curious if it was the writing staff or high-ups at DC that want more of the actual YJ team as characters. Not that I'm complaining, they've been handling this pretty well.

Yeah, when he was going to his
! time machine, I thought he was just going to have 1 episode. Then he stayed and I was super happy.
-
That episode seemed better than the last few. Though I wish they'd make it clear to the audience why Kid Flash isn't as fast as Flash and Impulse.
Also, am I the only one a little tired of hearing the word "Croloteans"?
-
Well, I haven't seen the latest episode yet since I was at stupid Akon working all weekend, tho I did manage to randomly catch the last like, minute of the episode. (Oops.)
! Impulse!
! Well, I'm happy about that, he's one of my favorites.
! Now I just have to see the episodes and see how they actually handle him… and try to pretend I don't already know the twist ending. -
! Did anyone else notice Bart's future slang coinciding with the Kroloteans way of speaking in the episode, as well as our 'mystery partner' in Salvage? "Meat", "Crash", "Mode". And the mysterious blue 'cyber cure' he used on Neutron…Reach technology?
! I noticed this too and found it curious. I'm not familiar with the comics so I don't know who the Reach are, but I thought that maybe since Bart speaks with the same slang as those aliens, that in his future timeline, their invasion was successful, and their dominance over the planet made their slang catch on with the humans.

It may have something to do with Wally getting his powers as a adolescent, while Barry got his as a full grown man.
There was also a thing waaaaay back in the comics, where Wally would have crippling pain if he ran too fast. It got to the point that it forced him to retire as Kid Flash, when he was about the same age as YJ!Wally. The same villian that Barry died stopping also accidentally managed to remove this ailment, allowing Wally to become the new Flash.

I liked the slang, and Impulse did specifically ask about blue beetle, but I may be reading too much into things

probably not, the croloteans don't like Blue Beetle for "some reason" and the ball Bart threw was clearly blue. (Try saying that 3 times fast.)
I always love episodes with the flash family (BatB's one was pretty awesome too), I could watch an entire show about them.
Also, I found Aqualad's actions a little suspicious on both ends, I do believe he's really angry… but he saved the team by telling them about the bomb.

The storylines in this show, are some of them also found in the comics too or way diff to that also. According to wiki adaptation of the entire DC Universe with a focus on young superheroes.
Anyway, hopefully they will renew it soon.

I'm sorry, could.. you rephrase that?

They're borrowing some, (mostly for the backstories, little details and huuuuuuge roster and personalities) but the actual stories are mostly fresh takes unique to the show.
-
In terms of roster, it's much more like Teen Titans.

In the first season anyway.
Its moved much closer to the Young Justice lineup now. Tim Drake Robin, Superboy, Impulse, Wondergirl, Supercycle…
Tho tho Titans lineup was always shifting anyway, and YJ eventually just turned into Teen Titans, its missing the "typical" mainstays of Raven, Starfire and Cyborg that carried the New Teen Titans... though now they have Nightwing and Beast Boy...

We have our teaser clips for tomorrow's episode: "Depths"
Artemis rejoins the team to defend a critical satellite launch — but will her first mission back also be her last?

June 23rd, the season finale will show two episodes instead of one. Excited. Only two more weeks left.

I think you have this confused with the Legend of Korra thread.

I think we all saw that coming. But man, wouldn't it have been better if the last scene was placed at the beginning of next week instead.
It would've been a whole week of us believing what we were "supposed" to believe weeks ago.
-
I agree with that Silver. With the inclusion of that last scene, it took away practically all the tension out of the situation. I would have rather liked it to end when…
! Superboy tells them Nightwing went to tell Wally that she had died
I even make a choked gasp aloud when
! Aqualad "stabbed" Artimus
It really had me going…
-
Yeah, that final scene really, really should have been saved for later.
Good episode though, the season is finally settling in and finding its voice again after the timeskip shakeup.
-

Not a week. Today was the "finale" so to speak. Young Justice won't be showing new episodes until the fall.
Not that I don't agree with what's been said about the ending.

Ann.
! That joke might go over your head.
for once…yes :(

Oh man, if we didn't have any closure for that long. Why didn't they wait. That would've been such a great cliff hanger. Waste.
-
I don't really mind them not waiting.
! I'm wondering if this will lead up to Ms. Martian going out for revenge on Aqualad. Also, I forgot the JL guys were off planet. Why did Superboy even need to pose as Superman for the press conference if he really wasn't going to have to talk? Felt a little bit odd despite the reasoning.
-
Actually when I saw "Manhunter" and "Superman" I thought that they had returned already and the show just didn't tell us. Glad that was a calculated misdirection on the writers' part.

Like they said, the world needs to be unaware that the majority of the League isn't on earth. Even if "Superman" didn't do anything, a villain thinking about blowing up a few buildings in Metropolis might say "Hmm, Superman might be coming back from the space launch tomorrow. Better not blow up those buildings."

I myself completely forgot about them leaving Earth.
Though I did think "Superman" was a little skinny when we saw his tiny figure. -

! The more Leaguers they can show at the same time, the better the deception.
! Megan/Sboy all feels a bit buffyish to me, though I guess that is a decade back now. Also could have done with it not having happened during the timeskip. -
That reminded me of Willow and Tara.
-
Well, this episode was aptly titled, that's for sure. Different depths all over the place here.
! AND MY FLAWLESS KALDUR REMAINS FLAWLESS! spazzes out in glee
! Actually, he's even more flawless than before; so much he's probably had to do in the last year to get where he came to be now. All the hard choices he's had to make…
! And I'm not a huge SuperMartian fan, but that part where Connor was talking about M'Gann trying to warp his mind a bit into forgetting? Ripped out my heart and ate it in front of me. Oh, Connor.Personally, I think this was a fine place to put these revelations. The chess pieces are into place, and we know where they stand; we still have the second and third acts to go in this season.
-
That reminded me of Willow and Tara.
I thought that too. I literally sat there and said to myself. "Why does this sound familiar? Ooooh Willow and Tara." then I laughed.
-
So why weren't Megan and Super boy in on the secret? Not trust worthy?
-
@LUFFY#1:

Not sure, but I hope M'Gann doesn't meet Kaldur while undercover. I can so see her making Kaldur comatose and then realize the horror of what she has done. (Psimon proves comatose state can be reversible, so it wouldn't have to be permanent).

Glad I wasn't the only one. Thought they were going to break out in song for a minute there.

Well, nothing ever gets past batman, and writers often pass that on to dick as well. So it's possible he's aware to some extent that something odd is going on there and doesn't want to risk Kaldur's life on it.
-
to quote Booker T " OOOHHH MMMAAAAHHHH GOOOODDDNNEESSS. I did not see that shit coming

I think it'll be a situation where Megan needs info from him and she coma-tizes him but also see's that he's been undercover.

I thought that would be the next outcome as well. Since she's in her sad stage, she'll probably go to angry mode on the next mission. Or she'll be purposely left at the base at first, then follow them and then all that stuff happens. I bet she'll also be blaming Superboy for Lagoon.
-
How could she blame SB when Lagoon clearly disobeyed an order. It's his fault and no one elses.

She doesn't always show sound judgement though.
