Shit chapter. It's frustating but in this arc we got boring chapters where nothing happens. No progression. Some chapter are becoming like Bleach lol.
Chapter 678: "Laboratory building A Lobby"
-
-
Yeah, but these characters at least had a real purpose to be there. I don't really see a point in the introduction of Rock and Scotch yet and there are some questions regarding them left.
What? Their faces? They are done with. Seriously, they serve no purpose. Didn't Law kill one of them? Shouldn't the other have died from gas? They were just introduced as Caesar's bodyguard assassins and really just couldn't compete with who they were up against. I'm really not sure why people are still talking about them, they seriously are completely irrelevant at this point.
-
What happen between Zoro and Tashigi??.. not a single panel about them..
I wanna see Zoro's rection!!They are both after the same target so just give it some time. I don't think they've even seen each other yet.
-
I've seen Franky and now Nami call Law "Torao", what does that mean?
-
Do you guys think if luffy used right hook / red hawk against cc it would ignite his explosive gas? It bothers me a bit that the only serious attack weve seen from him is that once

Wow .
lol

Yeah, no. The story could have been done just as easily without most of them, or having another more relevant character fill their role somehow. There's really no questions regarding the Cool Brothers. None at all. Just because they had a cool design and introduction doesn't make them more relevant either. Oda isn't gonna find some use for every single character he makes.
-
Wow .
lol
Just… don't even pursue it. The points of logic that would counter that argument would be like an army stampeding over the enemy opposition consisting of toddlers wielding pacifiers.
-
I am very much looking forward to Smoker vs. Vergo. Smoker's been an awesome character from the start and, unfortunately, has had only a small handful of chances to highlight that fact. If he's going to serve as Luffy's "Garp", then he needs to be perceived as a threat - if only a moderate one.
Plus, I feel he needs something to "redeem" him after his loss to Law earlier, even though Law's abilities are obscenely overpowered. :p
Zoro's "The New World starts here!" line was absolutely perfect - especially in light of all the calls to buff up his First Mate credentials of late. And Luffy's response of agreeing to take matters seriously then using a technique called Gomu Gomu no UFO was undeniably Luffy. XD
-
On Page 13 on Mangapanda you can spot Pandaman in the third panel, standing in the crowd.
-
Wow .
lol
He's right, at least to an extent. There's been several chapters where little happens. It wasn't like that at the beginning of this arc, but it really slowed down to the point where I feel pretty meh after reading a chapter sometimes, noticing that little even happened in the chapter. It's not Bleach-bad though, and I doubt it ever will be.
-
Worrying about Sunny.. but seems like Franky is coming for it.. What surprise will he bring this time??
Oh and I'm sure Jinbe is coming to Big Mam.. I see his backpack!
So this mini story is.. Jinbe and Caribou!?
Or maybe Jinbe will put him somewhere in NW, and he must survive all alone, the story begins! -

I initially thought Vergo would escape from PH without fighting, but now that we know Smoker will go up against him, and considering that Smoker lost to Law, I think Smoker will manage to beat Vergo. It would definitely make him look like a threat again
-
1- glad that Smoker is taking care of Virgo, it would not be as good if Luffy had to, because it would be haki vs haki and we will see this later I hope, the later the better.
2- The fact that Zoro reminds Luffy that he has to be serious now, and Luffy replying with confidence, makes me think that Luffy already has some crazy solution to manage CC and his oxygen trick… -

Even so, there's a whole lot of other things to enjoy in such chapters. I mean, this chapter was gold for the interactions alone.

Are we reading the same manga? Of course ycb won't be important but that doesn't mean they won't play some sort of role before this arc is over. I won't say oda gives a big role to every character but we have a good 15-20 chapters (at least) before this arc concludes, theyll be back.
-
Mangapanda's gotta' quit it with all that horrible fanart that appears at the start and end of their chapters lately. Terrible.
Also, highlight of the chapter was Smoker stepping out to reclaim his dignity. He's gonna' fxck up Vergo. It's gotta' happen so that we can believe that he could corner Luffy anytime soon. I believe we'll see a fuller extent of his powers in this battle too. About time. I reckon that Vergo'll escape somehow though.
Otherwise, weak chapter, tying up the loose ends that last week left in it's wake. Hadta' be done though. Next week's chapter'll arrive in a week though right? Tired of these sporadic releases A T M.
-
Worst case scenario: They're now in building A, the lobby. They will then work their way through the facility in alphabetical order until they reach R-66.
-
What a great chapter 9/10… Actually when I read spoiler I thought that "Gomu Gomu no UFO" would be some ass-kicking haki technique like "Gomu Gomu no Red Hawk".. Oh well I liked it anyway.
-
My review for this chapter is now up~ You can find it HERE or HERE.
I love how others don't get Law's name right. He never corrects them, but you can tell he notices by his put-apon expression. XD
Also, I loved the whole "No! No!" thing Sanji was doing before they were switched back to their own bodies. XD
It was also sweet to see Usopp and Zoro catching each other up on what happened while they were split up. You don't see those two interact as much as the others do, and it's nice to see.
Luffy… you have become a Loony Toon character. XD -
weird no-one mentioned. sanji hand-crossed before law switches him back to his body is priceless: "don't do that bro I still have to enjoy this". I felt the same in my heart…
-
Oh and lol with the "Jinbee"..
So he ate Bee Bee fruit now.. and be able to fly and sting enemy to dead?? Cool..
Knight of the Sky Rises.. -
I've seen Franky and now Nami call Law "Torao", what does that mean?
The "o" is for the first syllable of "otoko," which means "man." And "Tora" is the first two syllables of "Torafaruga Ro." I personally go with "Tora-man."
-
I was actually waiting for someone to mention it, lol. Yeah, that was hilarious.

This is funny. When Mangastream does it, nobody complains (and it's usually overkill too, like 5 pages of fanart).
-
I actually rather like it, providing it's at the end of a chapter, not the start. It's a nice way to end a chapter.
-

It's way funny. I also like the next panel where Sanji says "Shit, my dream is over!" with a DON in the background. Poor Sanji, he'll never get a boob boost again. Haha and next panel, Nami crying tears of joy to be back in her body. Comedy chapter!
-
Even so, there's a whole lot of other things to enjoy in such chapters. I mean, this chapter was gold for the interactions alone.
The interactions themselves are becoming quite annoying, in my own opinion. The way the Straw Hats interact has gotten very derivative. Luffy is always being silly. Franky is always reminding us that he's a cyborg. Sanji is always being an annoying pervert. Even Robin is generally always making a creepy comment, and I hate admitting that since she's my favorite character. They're becoming walking cliches of themselves. Their interactions with non-Straw Hats have been more amusing, but within themselves, they're becoming quite bland. And of course there's other stuff to enjoy - the art is always getting nicer to look at even when you think it's impossible, and the supporting cast has been amazing this arc. I just don't like when people act like there are no faults going on with the story or anything.

Maybe I should have phrased it better. I don't think they'll be back for a fight or anything like that before the arc finishes. If they show up again, it'd likely be for a very small role.
-

Law should give him a portable boob with his ability that he can keep in his pocket at all times.
Or knowing Sanji he'd just wear it on his chest with a strap.
-
Pretty disappointing chapter. I dont need fights, but at least the plot could have progressed a little bit more. And like somebody said before, Oda seem to have forgotten about Zoro/Tashigi.
-

Oh ok thanks. It's a little weird though, seems like something Luffy could call Law. He has a habit of coming up with names for people after all.
-
It's possible Nami just doesn't know/care what his name is and copied Luffy's nickname for him and MangaPanda used Torao instead of Trafalguy.
-

well… i would get something else knowing law powers...

Unless I'm mistaken, the shutter/wall/whatever that Zoro & Co. sliced through is on a level below the area where Smoker and Tashigi presently are (with Luffy and Law, where the lever that let the G-5 Marines into the facility was located). As such, it's entirely possible - even probable - that they simply haven't seen each other yet.
Give it time.
-
The art, especially faces, were a bit wonky in some parts. Like, recent-Toei-episodes-bad quality.
An okay chapter, though. Saw the Jinbe/Caribou interaction coming a mile away. Next up is Caribou escaping somehow.
-
Do you guys think we can expect Law helping Luffy/Smoker in their fights or will he be busy destroying the facility and arranging the escape? He has to get his heart back, you can't forget that =/
-
I can't wait to see Momonosuke…

Has anyone here said that there are no faults? Also, what you think is a fault might appeal to other people. I really like the Strawhats' interactions this arc. One of the faults of FI was that there was barely any real interaction among the crew and this is reminding me of the earlier, funner One Piece because we haven't had that since the start of Thriller Bark. Funny you mention Robin, I particularly really like Robin's change, it shows that she is more open and active, which is the whole point of her character arc. Each to their own, I guess.
-
Well, there are some standard things that are always gonna happen, but it's not like there is never anything new.
Nami's interaction with the kids, Sanji's relationship with Kinemon and Robin's utter comfort with crew's wackiness were some of my highlights in this arc.
-
Mangapanda page 14, who says to Zoro that he can't go alone? Nami?
-
"The New World starts here!"
You say it, Zoro.
-

Hard to say… He might want to get his heart back directly, and thus end up dealing with Vergo alongside Smoker; or he might go after Caesar with Luffy, in order to get Smoker's heart back and later trade it back to the VA once Vergo's defeated in exchange for his own.
Or he might fade into the background for a while, securing whatever he needs to before rendering the facility unusable while trusting Luffy and Smoker to do the heavy-lifting. Unlikely, but always possible...

Oh, so Vergo has both Law's and Smoker's hearts, Caesar doesn't have any? If so I think Law will help Smoker, seeing how Vergo has an advantage (their hearts). But we don't know how Monet will fit into all of this, if she's even an enemy.
-
"The New World starts here!"
You say it, Zoro.
Zoro's words of encouragement probably saved Luffy's life just now..
-

Actually, I think Caesar still has Smoker's - unless it's changed hands behind the scenes. The way I wrote that portion was rather incoherent… >_<
It really boils down to Law's relationship with Vergo - which is to say, whether he's confident in his ability to fight against the Vice-Admiral while his heart is in Vergo's possession (or perhaps, even in a straight up match). If he thinks it's too risky, Law will probably opt to do something else, whether it be lurk in the background or fight elsewhere.
And Monet is very much a wild card. I'm looking forward to seeing what role she has to play.
-
I want the Luffy vs Caesar fight broadcasted to all of the brokers. Make a statement Luffy. The New World starts here.
-
Well, it was an ok chapter. I really loved Luffy's new trick, your some thing else Luffy! I was thinking the fights would start up, guess gotta wait till next week for that, man am I looking forward to Luffy V.S Cc Luffy's gonna make himself known again on TV, crush the entire Island with some fo those moves I tells yah.
-
Is luffy flying with UFO? His trajectory seems to suggest something strange.
-
Smoker doesn't have a hole in his chest anymore. What's up with that? But i really liked the chapter especially the zoro stuff.
