since im pretty sure buggy is a new shichibukai what is his animal theme?
Got to leave Oda with that explanation. I mean no one can figure out Law's animal theme. They were all saying snow leopard and such.

That's because of his hat. Either way, it's a big cat.

Probably a bug, 'cuz he's _Bug_gy. shot
And yeah, Buggy wouldn't have gotten this far if Oda didn't have something awesome planned for him. Oda does not let buttmonkeys stay buttmonkeys.
Buggy can still have a role in the story without leaving his status as comic relief.
Well he IS one of the few people alive to have reached Raftel and know what One Piece is. Another one became a Yonkou. When the world learns of his origins his reputation is going to skyrocket regardless of what he can do.

He can, but for Oda to go through all the trouble of making him relevant through Marineford, giving him a rediculously awesome plot pedigree (on Roger's crew, history with Shanks, been to Raftel), giving him a crew made up of some of the strongest criminals in the world, and making him a warlord on top of all that just to leave him as a gag character for the rest of the story would be a bit of a let down.
Do I think he'll get down n' serious and stay that way for the rest of the series? No. That would be dumb.
But do I think he'll have a shining moment of glory and prove his worth? Heck yeah.

We know from earlier that a Shichibukai isn't based on strength but more on usefulness and recognition. The irony would be Buggy who has a crew of strong criminals, was on Roger's ship for a little while, and was on 'equal' terms with a yonkou is still a complete weakling. We also don't know if he went to Raftel, he was just a cabin boy or deckhand and could have left before then. Remember Roger's crew reassembled 4 years before conquering the Grand Line, so it's possible only the main people in his crew went. Oda set up Buggy on the den den mushi arguing w/ Shanks, having a large force of strong criminals behind him, and being mention as Roger's crew member. The whole POINT of that was to make him recognizable and fierce, he messed w/ a Yonkou (even though Shanks thought of him as a friend) so the people who witnessed this think he is fearsome and powerful giving him some recognition as a powerful figure, so he can become a Shichibukai. The whole point is he is SEEN as powerful giving him respect as Shichibukai despite being a weakling.
The main funny part about Buggy was that he replaced Moriah also i hope one of the last two warlords is a Zoan we have not had a zoan warlord yet also his zoan fruit could be his animal theme making it easy for Oda.
Either a ancient or mythical zoan one to make it interesting i hope its not Drake thou!

Buggy was part of Roger's crew that conquered the Grand Line so Shanks and him reached Raftel before. In chapter 0 we saw Buggy and Crocus in the same ship. And we know Crocus was the doctor that stabilizes Roger's terminal illness during his last journey that made him the pirate king.

Jinbe, Blackbeard and Moria stopped being Shichi at about the same time…

If he was with them Buggy knows what One Piece is and considering he's a treasure whore then he'd want to go after it. He might have been to Raftel but seeing how much of a loudmouth he is I doubt it. Also wasn't he considered an 'apprentice' in the databook? I'm thinking that he was there the same way Vivi was with the SHs, as a temporary member. You did bring up a good point about him being with Crocus so we'll have to see if Oda explains it more

More like Buggy actually knows what one piece really is, knows it isn't shimmering and thus isn't interested in it at all.

That just means One Piece isn't a material treasure so Buggy isn't interested in it at all. I'm guessing Roger told his crewmembers at Raftel not to reveal anything they saw there. I would believe even Buggy would have that much respect for his former captain to not go against his word.
judging from his character i'm sure he's afraid shanks or rayleigh or another living crew mate would come and murder him if he mentioned anything.

I don't thing they would murder a former crewmate, i think it would be more about respect

Buggy may be a clown (personality, pun intended), but it's obvious that with Roger's charisma, any who's sailed on the PK's ship has deep and utter respect for the man. Even Buggy would not betray his captain's last moments by spilling the beans.

Was it confirmed that Buggy and Shanks went to raftel with Gol. D?

Its not confirmed but its very likely. Read the posts that is at this very same page.
Add to that that the 4 former crew members we've seen have shown zero interest in searching for one piece.
It's all but confirmed that one piece isn't a traditional treasure and that the roger pirates have an understanding of what it really is

If you are one of the only people to reach Raftel and conquer the Grand Line, considering all the sh!t you had to go through an amazing treasure isn't all that great. Buggy might want it but be too scared to go back, I also think he has some dignity for his former captain. While nobody would kill him for spilling the beans, I'm sure he's afraid of Shanks or Rayleigh paying him a visit.

Buggy is to weak to go there anyways it does not matter if 99% of the treasure in the world was there anyways i am pretty sure that its the ancient weapon Roger found and he put it there to stop evil people from getting it which is why Whitebeard said to Blackbeard that he was not the person Roger was waiting for.

Roger from what we know, is a LOT like Luffy so I doubt he cared about a weapon or the World Government like Luffy doesn't. Luffy even said to Usopp when Usopp asked Raleigh about One Piece that he didn't care if it didn't exist. He just wanted to go on adventures and be the freest man in the seas. I truly think "One Piece" is all things that people want culminating in 'one place' or "One Piece" whether it's a culmination of all your dreams in "One Piece" meaning all the SHs will find or get what they wanted OR just all the struggles, trials, dangers, and skills you used to get to Raftel culminating in "One Piece". I do want to know what One Piece is but there are probably other things I want to see or know more, because I could see One Piece not even being known at the end of the series and being left for the 3rd pirate king. Sorry for the tangent but my guess is Buggy out of respect for his captain, inability to get there, and possible disinterest in One Piece is why he hasn't talked about it and why he won't go try to get it.
Roger from what we know, is a LOT like Luffy so I doubt he cared about a weapon or the World Government like Luffy doesn't.
He probably doesn't CARE about the weapon, but that wouldn't stop him from realizing the deep shit the world would be in, if anybody got their hands on it. So, of course he would hide an ancient weapon if he found one. Even so, I doubt that One Piece is one of the three weapons, I'm just saying that Roger probably knew a lot about them from the Rio Poneglyph.

I think Roger definitely knew about them and knew where they were but had no interest in them. I wasn't trying to imply One Piece is one of the weapons, if that's wha tit sounded like. I don't think Roger cares about what happens to the weapon he just won't give them to people or use them, but he knows the truth about the void century and he didn't let that out when I bet it's very important. Also I think I read somewhere he wiped out a small country when someone he cared about was hurt (I think Garp said this once) so I again I don't think gives 2 shits about what happens to the weapons, only that people have to figure them out where they are and how to use them for themselves. Franky had a counterpart to Pluton (which is in Alabasta right?) and a Mermaid is the 2nd one so I doubt Uranus is something Roger bothered with.

It says roger destroyed the country's army, not the country itself.
If there are doubts about the accuracy of the translation, this is cnet's one

Flashback!Garp: At times like that, Roger became a true demon!! // He was even known to wipe out an entire country's military… / ...just because they spoke ill of his crew.
Flashback!Dadan: .........
Flashback!Garp: Sure enough, he could be ferocious, short-tempered and selfish if you made him mad. / ...But every action that he took was as simple and honest as that of a child. // Perhaps because he grew up in circumstances not unlike those Ace is going through right now... / He detested the thought of losing his loved ones above all else... // It's the fact that he lived his life in that way and still had the luck to survive that made him the Pirate King. // The world may have seen him as the ultimate evil, but the trust he earned from his crew was immeasurable. // Even I, as a Marine soldier, couldn't bring myself to hate the man... that's why I decided to take in Ace...

tkz for the correction
Anyone wonder why Oda has yet to have any of the Strawhats meet Doflamingo? He seems like a good villain but he also doesn't seem like someone who would get his ass kicked but like tired of fighting and leave. Do you think he'll be a villain in the New World and how big a role will he play throughout the story or in his own arc (if Oda gives him one)?

I think it is very clear that Doflamingo will have an arc dedicated to him and that he will be a major villain. He has been way too hyped, there's no way Oda would just use him as a side character.

Luffy has actually met Doflamingo. But he wouldn't know who Doflamingo was, if you asked him.

He's possibly seen him, he's hasn't had any interaction with him. The SHs and/or Luffy have all met and had a conversation with all of the Shichibukai EXCEPT Doflamingo. I didn't like him because he was too flamboyant and I thought he wouldn't be serious but seeing how he's got a carefree ruthless side makes him a badass. Also when he cut Oars Jr's leg, that just upped his epicness big time
Although i would call that panel above an interaction, i doubt that Luffy will remember it, so it probably won´t have a significance for their confrontation which will definitely come. He is the only Shichibukai that didn´t have a big influence on the story so far (besides the 2 new and unknown ones) and the fight between him and Luffy was already foreshadowed here: http://www.mangareader.net/103-2410-8/one-piece/chapter-303.html.

Is there any other translation for "If I just kicked him out, they would get to your position eventually?". Seems like a shabby translation

Luffy did in the war i think when he was talking about Kuma.
eah the translation back then wasn´t really accurate, maybe this is a bit better [Is there any other translation for "If I just kicked him out, they would get to your position eventually?". Seems like a shabby translation

)o Flamingo again, i don´t think he holds a grudge towards Luffy for knocking out Bellamy because it seemed like Bellamy was just a disposable pawn, so that wouldn´t be a reason to fight. I could imagine a scenario though in which the SH land on the island where Flamingo´s home or base is located. He would ask the the SH to work under him like he asked Crocodile in the war but knowing Luffy he will decline in some insulting way which would put off Flamingo.eah the translation back then wasn´t really accurate, maybe this is a bit better [T](

I'm normally one to notice foreshadowing but I've seen that scene with Bellamy multiple times and never realized Bellamy said the Straw Hats would come to Doflamingo. I recognize Luffy will fight Blackbeard and the parallels of Luffy/Zoro and Kid/Killer, these aren't hidden things but easy to recognize, but good to know the fight will definitely happen eventually Possibly Luffy messes up another one of Doflamingo's things like the Auction House.

the thing of his that luffy will mess up is actually a base he's constructed with his shichibukai status to try and save his dying wife, he'll do anything to get the money to support her until he succeeds or she dies. Who were we to judge, really?

Had to laugh there :D
Any good ideas on who the final Shichibukai will be? I'm saying that with the assumption Buggy is the 6th. What are the odds it's a level 6 prisoner? New character?
my personal theory is croc reinstated
he kicked plenty of ass in the war and was probably the 2nd most active character there, after Akainu
I am hoping for a new character.
not gonna be croc i think. he stopped ace's excution and attacked akainu and trolled the whole marine side so he wont be accepted by the WG. i think there is a panel or a cover page also says that croc and daz are heading to the new world?
@Le:

Didn't Law save Luffy and Jinbe from being killed, when it was the WG's top priority to eliminate Luffy at that point?

snap i totally forgot about law lol…
but i still dont think it would make sense if croc became one Shichibukai again... i mean the WG took off his title and put him in jail and then him escaping Impel Down plus trolling the whole marine side at the war makes him another shichibukai? he could do something else in this 2 years like Law if u say.. but i just dont want crocodile to be shichibukai again..

Yeah, he probably doesn't want to side with the WG anymore.
In the first place, he was only a Shichi to expedite his ultimate plan.
If it's one of the Supernovae, I'm just gonna guess Hawkins.
He doesn't have a noticeable animal theme, though (don't say "hawk", that's already Mihawk's).
Even Law has his incidental tiger theme… Oh god, what if it's Lucci? That would be so rad.

Lucci would be awesome. But he's not a pirate, so I doubt it would be him.
I'm hoping for a new character, but otherwise I'm thinking one of the supernovas (obviously).
lol wat if bonney, enel, or sentomaru became a Shichibukai
sentomaru is a marine so… no. Enel would be badass, with his god complex i highly doubt they'd let him be in the actual rankings.
