So, I read Naruto before this - since it came out first and I still keep up with it for 'meh' sake - and since that chapter was basically all sound effects and action-ishy scenes (where I couldn't tell things apart very well >.<; ) I found a chapter with words - and interesting words at that - nice.
So, yeah, reading Naruto improved the chapter.
Chapter 675: The name is Shinokuni

@CCC:
Oda's blurb:
I've started raising a big hercules beetle. I've named it Heracles'n.Haha, that's nice :D
-
why the hell Law didn't ask for Caesar heart instead of Monet's one?
-
why the hell Law didn't ask for Caesar heart instead of Monet's one?
Caesar doesn't want to lower himself that much, plus he has a lot of faith in Monet.
-
why the hell Law didn't ask for Caesar heart instead of Monet's one?
Because the contract was so that CC felt safe having Law on his island.
-
It was a little weird that Monet just accepted giving her heart to Law because Caesar said so. But I guess it shows how dedicated she is to her mission. She probably agreed to it to earn even more of Caesar's trust?
-
Was Monet trying to help them? Seeing how she immediately directed Ceaser's attention to her when Ceaser wanted to do something to the heart he was holding.
-
why the hell Law didn't ask for Caesar heart instead of Monet's one?
Because CC wanted to have some reinsurance for the case that Law makes trouble.
And its funny how that will probably lead to some discussion about how "weak" Law is for a shichibukai, while only some chapters ago anyone complained that Laws DF is too much hax.
Luffy and Law have shown perfectly that there are no defined powerlevels and no matter how strong you are, if you make a mistake (or underestimate your opponent in luffys case) you will be swiftly defeated. -
why the hell Law didn't ask for Caesar heart instead of Monet's one?
Because then Caesar would refuse and tell him to fuck off?
The better question is why Law didn't just kick Caesar out of his own house when Caesar himself admitted that Law was stronger? Whatever Yonkou-busting-thing Law is after must have required Caesar's continued presence in some way. -
@CCC:
Oda's blurb:
I've started raising a big hercules beetle. I've named it Heracles'n.Other page: In the next issue, info about the new movie as well as OP Premiere Summer (the Universal Studios live performance thing)
Included in the next issue is a "book in book," which will have illustrations formerly only available at the One Piece Ten exhibition in Tokyo, as well a postcard as an extra present.ā¦I will buy SJ next week and obtain this book-in-book. Believe it.
Thanks CCC ^^
I have the 2 One Piece Ten books with exclusive illustration (I posted them here in the forum) but IĀ“ll buy that WSJ issue too ^^

@Devil:
I liked the chapter, and loled at Smiley's and Caesar's faces. The Law's heart thing was really obvious, but it wasn't a bad explanation. I'll wait to a better translation to talk about it properly.
Yes, but I think the fact that Law has Monet's heart was a surprise. I don't think it's such a big deal that he has her heart, but maybe Oda will make it a big deal. In fact, I'm banking on it.
-
I think Monet likes Law, and doesn't want to see him hurt.
To put it bluntly: Monet wants some Law balls. lololololololol
-
I understood that Slimey needs to eat the candie to become a strong weapon. While it doesn't listen to Ceaser, if the idea CC needs to be around for Law's study then I feel like that Slimey is the weapon that Law needs to take down the Yonkou. With so much candy around Big Mam, it could help level Law's alliance against this powerful foe.
-
Don't make me gif-kick-drop yo' ass.
Yeah apparently consecutive chapters with hardly any action translates to downgrade of the plot. lol
-
I really want to know what Monet's abilty is. i hope it will be revelead soon
-
arigato for the chapter
-
Yeah you are rightā¦ An underling who is above Smoker in rank is for sure CLEARLY weaker than Law because of this... Even more after he still spoke like shit to him smacking him with a stick KOā¦ Cuz we all know all Shichibukai's are equal in power. I accepted that all are around Mihawk/Shanks level
I think even a fodder pirate could have done that to him after he, you know, got his heart punched.
But thanks, I just wanted to confirm that discussing with you is pointless, even when presenting clear evidence that your theory is not right / not backed up in the slightest. But don't worry, I won't reply to your posts and theories anymore from now on. Have a nice day.
Anyway! thanks to the great CCC a proper translation is available, time to comment on the chapter.
- It becomes clearer that like many predicted, CC isn't an underling of Dofla but more a business partner / client. The way he talks to Vergo shows some sort of distance between them. Respectful relationship even.
- Law is more powerful than CC, and he even admits it. Interesting, concerning what the gas man did to the rest of the PH bigshots.
- Monet is likely a DF user. So glad that she isn't just fodder with a brain. Development inc.!
- The scene between CC and Smiley was heartwarming, loved it.
- More silhouettes. I must admit I don't like the heavy use of them lately. Keeping things a secret is one thing, but this is a bit too much for my taste.
Overall a great chapter, as usual.

Ok thank you very much for also giving me a prove that all Shichibukai are near equal meaning at the level of Shanks/Mihawkā¦ Meaning equal to Zoro's final goal. But yeah also have a nice day

Exactly anyone saying it's not Big mom now is crazy because we already knew Kid was attacking her and the 3 of them worked together in sa already.
-
Well, even though I was in love with the first chapters of this arc, I have to admit it lost me alreadyā¦ and I need to say I am starting to worry, since I am not able to really enjoy OP for a looong time (since the timeskip, I am not REALLY liking anything and before it I was already bored to death by Luffy's flashback).
I don't know, but I guess the lack of humor has something to do with that...Anyways, thanks CCC, I couldn't understand shit of this chapter with the scanlation :|
But I have to admit that I still don't understand the "Monet changing form" part. It has nothing to do with her gaining wings, Law knew that harpy was Monet since... well, it was not like it was a secret (she was still CC's secretary and everyone keep calling her by her name).
Truth be told, though, the best thing about this chapter to me was the fact Oda got a heracles beetle. It's like a dream coming true, he deserves it. Cheers, Oda!
Btw, if Monet is really a Zoan... a secretary bird? (probably everyone pointed this out already)

The better question is why Law didn't just kick Caesar out of his own house when Caesar himself admitted that Law was stronger? Whatever Yonkou-busting-thing Law is after must have required Caesar's continued presence in some way.Indeed. To agree to give his heart like that he must really need Caesar. I want to know damn it!
-
Maybe Law wants Smiley
-
So about Vegapunk's dragonā¦ What are we supposed to believe here? What was that other dragon? Is this dragon more dangerous? (doesn't look like it). And where does it fit into the story?
-
So about Vegapunk's dragonā¦ What are we supposed to believe here? What was that other dragon? Is this dragon more dangerous? (doesn't look like it). And where does it fit into the story?
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.:wassat: And I honestly have no guesses. Did Vegapunk just leave it after the incident, and then CC simply "adopted" it? I don't know. But I don't see it having any significant role in the arc.
-
It's kind of obvious that Law and CC closed a deal, that's why Law gave his heart. And I am pretty sure the deal contains his crew.Somehow CC and/or his partners captured them and Law came to take them back.CC thought it was a good chance to make his people capable of moving again so he proposed a that deal to him.In another scenario,Law knew somehow that Luffy would be coming to the island so he waited for him and he asked CC to stay there for a bit,and CC said 'only if you help me' and blah blah..
-
Because the contract was so that CC felt safe having Law on his island.
caesar already showed that has no really interest in the life of his subordinates,so monet's heart is worth jack shit in that contract, while caesar has all the power..the contract was mase so that both of them will have something important to lose ,in that case the only one losing is law
-
This post is deleted!
-
Kill me if this is stupid, but what if Law's crew was captured by whichever Yonkou he's after? I'm sure this has to have been mentioned before?
-

Yeah, and when they're about to escape the dragon runs away like a disobedient pet and suddenly the sled starts melting. Monet says how can that be, and CC states it was probably on purposeā¦ This part of the chapter made little sense to me
-
Seems smiley doesn't obey CC.
Calling it now, Luffy will tame Smiley and with that, the ultimate gas weapon everyone wants. Incoming WTF-faces all around Punk Hazard.
-

Yeah, but I guess Law wasn't aware that CC probably doesn't care about Monet. Actually, we don't even know if he does, but we can assume he doesn't based off of how he treats everyone else.
ā- Update From New Post Merge ---
Yeah, and when they're about to escape the dragon runs away like a disobedient pet and suddenly the sled starts melting. Monet says how can that be, and CC states it was probably on purposeā¦ This part of the chapter made little sense to me
If you read CCC's translation, it says that CC is surprised that the sled started melting, but Monet calls him a bad liar.
-
Yeah, and when they're about to escape the dragon runs away like a disobedient pet and suddenly the sled starts melting. Monet says how can that be, and CC states it was probably on purposeā¦ This part of the chapter made little sense to me
that's because you should stop following the manga-reader/mangapanda's translation and look at CCC's one.
from the correct translation is clear that is caesar himself who has sabotaged the sled so to kill these subordinates that he doesn't need anymore..he even told them to throw away their protection suit..monet just say that he is a bad actor while he tries to look concerned about his subordinates.
-
Ah well that makes way more sense. Still, wondering what will become of the dragon. It runs into Chopper perhaps?
-
Wasn't worth the break. I don't mind that it didn't have action (I really could care less about action, it's not the main thing I read One Piece for), I just found the pace too slow.
Highlights of the chapter:
-The snake hallucination panel was cool.
-Nami calling Sanji strong pretty much.
-Vergo's (absence of) cookies.
-Some pretty dang creepy panels of Caesar's b-e-a-utiful face.
-Heart explanation.
-Law calling Monet skilled with that cheeky grin.
-Trippy new Den-Den Mushi to add to the collection, a movie Den-Den Mushi.
-More silhouettes, dafuq.
-Awesome little dragon :DSo yeah, it was above the standard One Piece baseline, which is very high, but these last 2 chapters have been sloooow. Punk Hazard had phenomenal pace for a while, and these chapters were kind of "sideways" to the plot. This one was less so than last week's though, cause we got the heart explanation.
-
Am I the only one who thinks that Monet is going to betray Clown and join Law's crew at the end of the arc?? They seem to get on well, Law has her heart, Law sees her as a skillfull womanā¦
-
Thanks Kishido
:/ I am personally disappointed, been waiting 1 week to read/see something more interesting, This is just some blahblah ~ Ordinary chapter
-
Where exactly do you think Law has Monet's heart? Does he have it on him somehow? Cause you can't forget that Monet's life is at stake here as well, she can't go about this lightly
-
I hope when luffy says "Wow your still alive even though they got your heart"
[http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/675/11I](http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/675/11)sn't foreshadowing to Law reviving him by taking his heart when he was damn near killed at Marineford
lol I already see people screaming at me "Pirates of the Caribbean, and Hancock will have his heart in a box lol"
Overall great chapter
-

That would definitely be an interesting twist of events. All those people saying Monet will join the Straw Hats, only for her to join Law.
-
It was said a few times that it's possible for her to join Law.
-
I think confusion is making people not enjoy this chapter. But when Oda brings everything together the way he normally does, people might appreciate this chapter more. I think it had plenty of information to set up a deeper meaning for this particular arc (like the deal with Law , the little girl refusing to go in the room, and maybe something more on Monet). The things related to the bigger plotline is Smiley because I think that's what Law needs to carry out his plan (the Lawffy Alliance still to come, maybe in this arc), and of course there's the underworld brokers and Donflamingo's input.
I think chapter was good and will be more appreciated as things progress further.
-
I called vergo having laws heart!
-
Also I think this chapter adds to Caeser's character. He's good at what he does but he's also a bit of a fuck up.
-
Kill me if this is stupid, but what if Law's crew was captured by whichever Yonkou he's after? I'm sure this has to have been mentioned before?
Big mom seems to have a member of kids crew working for her so it makes sense that she would have law's crew after he became a warlord.
-
Boring chapter, nothing happened :(
-
Atleast it explained things that people were theorizing about, like why Law was easily "beaten".
-
@Law:
Big mom seems to have a member of kids crew working for her so it makes sense that she would have law's crew after he became a warlord.
Where did you see that Big Mom has Kidd's crew member ?
-
Where exactly do you think Law has Monet's heart? Does he have it on him somehow? Cause you can't forget that Monet's life is at stake here as well, she can't go about this lightly
he would be smart to have it were his heart use to be as a second heart.
-
Okay chapter I guess, nice to see what was up with Law! Now I canĀ“t freaking wait for the action!!

Eh, I only read it cos it seems a waste to read as far as I have without seeing it through to the end and I like a few of the characters - not Naruto himself, or freakin' Sasuke, but Shikamaru is okay. Practically I'm just going through the motions with it. Bleach thoughā¦ I had to give that up. I couldn't take that shit no more. God, it started good, but got so bland... I just... I couldn't. >.<
As far as I'm concerned Naruto and Bleach shouldn't even be a part of the Big Three.
All that aside, I forgot to say that I enjoyed the chapter for what it was and I always enjoy seeing more Smokey and Law~<3
