Hulk can't pick up Mjolnir.
And he's never truly beaten Thor either. Marvel has always kept the true outcome of such a match-up vague.

If anyone deserves to pick up Mjolnir, it's Cap.
Hulk can't pick up Mjolnir.
I could have sworn there was one time he picked it up…Then again I do remember stuff that doesn't happen...

He can and he did.
Though I disagree with it, because comics Cap is a major asshole who condones torture and blows up cities "for the greater good". Also Civil War. And Avengers vs. X-Men.

There was actually a major discussion last month over a comic where it appeared Hulk held Mjolnir for a second, but the editors said it was meant to fall the second Hulk grabbed it from mid-air.
Just did a check and it was actually Red Hulk that picked it up and used it against Thor
!
you're still right though…

Based on what I've seen, couldn't the same be said for Thor where it seems to depend on the writer.

That's kinda really clever. I mean all the weight of the world has no meaning in a zero weight environment. Very nice.

At first, I really didn't like Red Hulk, but he's slowly growing on me
I disavow everything written by Jeph Loeb, Red Hulk most of all. Thor hammering, surfing on Silver Sulfer's board and punching out the Watcher is just too much.

Thor isn't put on a pedestal though, so it's not as annoying.
At least Ultimate Cap is never depicted as a paragon of all that is right and just in the world. He may be an asshole, but he does the right thing and with style. Regular Cap gets away with a whole bunch of crap just because he's CAPTAIN AMERICA.
If it's movie-verse Cap, I'd be okay with that happening. Because Chris Evans does such a good job at not being that asshole. I always see people post that one page where Cap is killing enemy soldiers. I don't like that crazy mofo angle of Cap. It just… feels wrong somehow. Maybe that's just me.
Movieverse Cap is amazing. A lot of people complain that he didn't have any badass moments or "epic one-liners", but he shouldn't need those. He's above that shit. He's just a soldier who wants to do the right thing. Him just leading a bunch of super-powered beings and making sure no civilians are hurt already shows he is the best of them all.
Regarding Mjolnir…
!
'Nuff Said.
Fear Itself is a disgustingly horrible storyline.
:<
Why you gotta say hurtful things to me?
A lot of the tie-ins were great (especially Uncanny X-Men omg), but the main book was just a series of short scenes that set up those tie-in books (this has been a problem with Marvel events since Civil War, though AvX seems to be doing it right again). The writing itself was very poor too, though the art was amazing.
I think AvX is probably the worst event as far as how the main book seems to be nothing but setups (and terrible art) to other tie-ins.
That being said AvX 6 was amazing!
Fear Itself on the other hand didn't feel that disjointed to me, plus the art was so good I was able to forgive a lot of it's shortcomings.
Plus… being the semi catalyst of the "Colossusnaut" will make me like it more than I should.
I also heard something about Beast eating Iceman.
AvX is hilarious though. Especially the second issue. Only the fourth and fifth issue really felt disjointed to me. The only big problem is that my girl Kitty Pryde won't appear in the entire event.

Yes, he did. Beast's always beeen a traitorous failcat, but shooting his best friend with a laser and then eating him after Iceman told he didn't want to fight was the last straw.
Eighties Cap was worthy of holding the hammer in Secret Wars. Angsty and gritter "more real world" Augties Cap, not so much.
Yes, he did. Beast's always beeen a traitorous failcat,
But… Beast has always been one of the upstanding goody-goods!
but shooting his best friend with a laser and then eating him after Iceman told he didn't want to fight was the last straw.
Erm…
I'm sure they'll eventually just retcon it into being Dark Beast again.
Or ignore it forever.
God, what's wrong with comics.

I remember Kitty Pryde always being my favorite female character back in the animated series(favorite being Nightcrawler), so when I look up on Marvel wiki and this is the last event they have relating to her….
[hide][/hide]
which apparently included her uterus being invaded by brood drones…..yeah....I'm kinda curious what she's been up to.
Honestly, Beast eating Iceman made me chuckle.
This side story in Uncanny about Mister Sinister is actually intriguing me to no end though…I dunno who to root for now....
Is it too much to ask for them all to kill each other?
Well then. I guess this shatters my unwitting delusion that Beast is a reasonable guy. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing that most of what I know is movie-verse. I know I've still only scratched the surface with the comics. The Invincible Iron Man Unfixable was just… awkward. I can't look at Doc Oc the same ever again. Dude has some issues. But then I suppose most people Iron Man has pissed off over the years all have a screw loose.

Yeah. I've always thought about getting into comics more, but from what I've seen, there's some stuff I want to read, and other stuff, I choose to selectively ignore.

Oh come on. It's like a guy giving his friend a noogie rather than any serious confrontation. Beast just playin'.
That's how one guy described it to me anyway since he couldn't take the confrontation seriously at all.

You don't want to know how pissed I've been about Kitty's treatment. I was initially happy that she took over as headmistress, but then the only thing they did with her was make her pregnant, incompetent and bad at everything.
Thank god there's Ultimate Kitty, being the biggest badass ever and leading her own freedom force, and being written by one of the best writers around (Brian Wood).
Does she really have a little dragon pet called Lockheed?
I had no idea till I played the Avengers FB game where she is playable
Yes, Lockheed is her lethal protector. =)
This is all you need to know about Lockheed:
[hide][/hide]
Lockheed also has a side job as a member of the pet Avengers, so he can be in the movies!
The only problem I'm having with AVX is the main book is a continuity travesty.
At one moment you have Thor, Beast, and the rest of the Secret Avengers on Kree, then the next issue they apparently are back on Earth, but the story in the tie in still has them on Kree…
I realize this is just a grab for people to buy all the associated titles to get the full story, but dam it this is a mess sometimes....
^ This.
So much of this.
At least Civil War and other Events didn't have IMPORTANT PLOT DETAILS scattered around the tie ins.
Oh and one of the best match-ups, Red Hulk Vs. Colossu(naut)s, happened in Uncanny X-Men… not AvX OR AvX: VS.
<
Don't get me started on the Iron Fist/Phoenix relation either, had no idea about it till I got the issue in…I believe it was secret avengers again, I'm not to certain...
I don't really care about the continuity as long as I'm entertained. Stuff like Emma burning Hawkeye alive and Black Panther bitchslapping Iron Man and calling him a failure is why I'm still buying. And Uncanny X-Men and Wolverine and the X-Men are just damn good (except for screwing over Kitty, but it's compensated by the amazing Avengers-stomping Rachel Grey).
I don't mind shelling out 4 bucks for most of the tie-ins, I would just like to enjoy a story that isn't spoiled in the main story.
The happenings on Kree I was enjoying, but the next issue of AVX kinda ruined the ending of that story earlier than I would have liked. Then taking this issue in mind where Hope is now when we already know she is training under Spiderman in the tie in.
It is entertaining, but it spoils some things sometimes…
Man, I was late reading Fear Itself and now I'm gonna be late reading AvX.
I have no idea what you guys are saying!
I did like Fear Itself enough.
Beast eating Iceman astounded me at first, then Kaiolino posted it…
I mean, it's not like he bit off his head while Iceman was in great pain.
And it's not like Drake tastes like chicken...
But yeah, this should all be in the "Western comics thread".
Was not sure if I should start a new thread, but Marvel Studios is going all out…

Iron Man 3: May 2013
Ant-Man! Ant-Man movie!! Yesss!
And Don Cheadle says Iron Man 3's villain (one of them) is Mandarin!!
Hype mode officially UP!
It's like Marvel just vomited a bunch of movies at us. Never heard of Guardians of the Galaxy until about a week ago, so that'll be something to look forward to. I should read Captain America: Winter Soldier sometime soon.
Kind of uneasy about Iron Man 3. So far we've got Iron Patriot (not sure if he's actually vilified in 3?), and Mandarin, and while I do enjoy multi-villain movies, Spider-Man 3 brings back terrible memories of such things. Although The Dark Knight didn't do too bad with it, Two-Face was rather rushed, so… Eh.
Still wish they'd give Hulk another shot rather than giving us yet another Iron Man movie.
Those are some cool ass titles. The Winter Solider! The Dark World! Fuck yeah.
Can someone please explain Guardians of the Galaxy which is clearly more interesting than Ruffalo getting his Hulk movie. (that was sarcasm btw, but seriously tell me, I've never heard of it)

I think what they're really unsure of is if he can carry a movie on his own. And I'm wondering that as well. They probably don't want to take any chances now that people are finally happy with the Hulk.

That's what makes it all the more of a waste to confine him only to Avengers movies.
But I understand that Hulk doesn't exactly have the best track record. Still, considering one of the Hulk didn't even really have anything to do with them, and Hulk's earned a bit of a rep from Avengers, I wish they would give him just one more chance. And the comics made him work. There must be a way for the movies to make him work.
Incidentally, I still haven't seen either of the Hulk movies.

From what I've gathered, (and I could be missing out on some serious details, fyi), it's Marvel's answer to the Green Lantern Corps.
By the way, heard Edgar Wright's gonna be directing Ant Man. As in Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim Edgar Wright. Super fuck yeah.
Winter Soldier confirmed for Cap 2! Add the fact that its being directed by the Russo brothers and I am fully on board.
The only one I'm not really looking forward to is Iron Man.
All you need to know is the Guardians is where Nova is from….they also have a Raccoon that wields a rocket launcher...
Still not as great as Hulk but I digress...
since this goes with the Avengers DVD or movie.. Marvel released a App called Marvel Second Screen ,which had a case where you solve puzzles and in SDCC and outside was the password for the next case until you solve all 4..which the prize for solving everything was a screening for the short film "Item 47"
"
Cant wait to buy the DVD for this short film.
gross sobbing
anyone actually getting this?
