Paying the PRICE OF THE GAME over again just to get DLC costumes just seems… really wrong to me.

Video of Ace in DLC version (Strong world clothes)
Thank you very much for video, Ace is very good in this game :)
The clothes of Strong World is very awesome -
the dlc cost around 300 yen and add 100 yen for the special mission, it's surely wrong to do it that way paying money to get extra outfit when you should get them for free but hein it's one piece, it's a huge money maker industry!
the worst is that i know i'm wasting my money but i don't care :/
-
The DLC clothes just don't really interest me so much either. Once you play through them once they lose their novelty. Kinda wish they just stuck to a theme instead of doing Kimono for some and SW for others.
-
Can't people hack the discs to access the DLC without paying?
Also, could the PSN US version potentially host DLC as well? Or is that something that would be harder to do on a digital release?

Sounds like this is it for the DLC.
Is the full set out or next week? I'm in the psn store but can only find each individual set. I don't see anything listed for 3200 en. I prefer to buy the bundle.
-
Oh weird, I just went back to the official website and the full set listing is gone! Bizarre… I guess they might not be releasing that until next week? Or maybe they created the website asset for it, decided they weren't going to release a full DLC bundle and then forgot to remove that from the site graphic. Either way, it's gone now.
-
Usopp in DLC version with Kimono costume (Go Brosopp!… or better said, Go Mansopp!)
Thanks to @downtimejapan
-
^awesome. Usopp FTW
-
It's over for the dlc ? no more costumes or challenges ? no skypea arc with ener in main character XD ?
-
The hype has died down haha.
-
Gotta have stuff for Pirate Warriors 2.
-

I doubt they'd ever planned to release anything more than those lame costumes and challenges as DLC. Unfortunately good DLC that really adds to a games story or replay value is pretty rare…
Also, that Coin System is ****ing annoying: 40+ hours and I still miss the Roger Coin (the last one I need...).

Amazon.de lists OP Pirate Warriors for november 1st,
Take the date with a grain of salt though. -
One Piece: Pirate Warriors - At Almost 1 Million Copies
The guys over at Namco Bandai Games Japan recently released some of the latest financial numbers and on top is the great Captain Luffy as part of One Piece: Pirate Warriors! In terms of anime games, anyways. The real number one and two on Namco Bandai’s list are Dark Souls, which shipped 1.19 million units and Ace Combat Assault Horizon which followed with 1.07 million unit. However, both of those games shipped figures include the North American and European numbers.
For One Piece: Pirate Warriors, almost 1 million copies (940,000 to be exact) have been shipped since the March 1st release in Japan alone! That number can only going to get larger as the game will be sailing over to Europe in November of this year. North America will be getting a digital release so we’re not sure if Namco Bandai will be able to include it in the “shipped” numbers.

That was NEVER going to happen. that's the sort of thing you throw at the inevitable sequel. Or third game.

I remember people hyping this game up to be the jesus of gaming.
Might check it out when it becomes a cheapo game in the US.
-
I am so excited for this! After trophy whoring Tales of Graces I really want to get into another game with such a diverse teams of playable characters. Oh, and it's ONE PIECE!!!

Don't set your hopes too high. The game is only okay, at best.
Part 2 should be pretty good and 3 should be great, though.
-
still compared to the last playstation game (i think last one was Grand adventur for ps2) of one piece it's really fantastic if you compare them

Doubtful with it being digital only…those rarely drop.

Unless it is a STeam PC Game. :ninja:
I missed the part that it would be in the US only as digital though. Thanks for the info.

PS3 exclusive…..

I just bought this game and was wondering if anyone knows how to play 2 player mode? Not online, but split screen? thanks!
-
The second player presses start before you choose your character in the Other Stories mode.
-
Will there be online battles for North America?
(Canada specifically…not sure if some online is states-only)
Nvm there's PSN support but since I was planning on getting a hard-disc copy from Europe, obviously you'll have to buy the copy from your region to play online or get dlc....
Digital copy it is...

Online worked fine for the people who imported from Japan. Cant see why it wouldn't for the Europe version

Great to read the games getting a US release. I'll finally buy something on PSN.

So noobish question but could I import the EU version off Amazon. And if so is there anything I should keep an eye out for. Sorry this will be my first game I've ever imported.
And I'm not buying off the psn where the game never truly belongs to you.

Yeah it's nice to know the game will be coming out here in some form.

I've heard some games aren't allowed to be exported; one of the Professor Layton games comes to mind. But if it can't, it'll tell you. And I did get the Layton movie exported from there, so it's entirely doable.
-
Greatly enjoying the game. The water 7 jumping parts were ok, but a little bit repeditive - I found the entire Alabasta stage to be great, and the arlong park Stage.
Please add me, fenberry24 on psn for anyone wanting to play the game. I'm on most nights :) Cyber-robin - haven't had a chance to catch you while we're both online, but when we do and if your willing, we'll have an online play or two. :) Loving it!

Thx,i look forward to knowing. Really hoping it is.

To those who have collected all the coins, can you please tell me if i have to play online with 3 random peoples or 3 of my friends list to get the 3 online coins ?

friend's list. You'll notice when you get some with a blue background.
-
Okay thank you.
And do you know how to play online with a friend ? I don't find the place to send the invitation…
By the way, if anyone around here wants to play online, my id is : Dasclik -
So apparently there is a glitch (I'm saying glitch because I believe it's impossible to mod a PS3 game) that lets you play as bosses. At least some of them.
They are clearly imcomplete as playable characters but I guess it's a bit of what to expect for the next game.Kizaru:
Aokiji:
Buggy:
-
that's cool. I wonder how they did that?
-
the NPCs from the previous title usually become playable in the sequel and they will add new NPCs. they gonna do the same thing for the third game and continue the pattern. we might got 40+ chars in the 7th title just like dynasty warriors. its a long wait. :wassat:
btw any ideas how to do that?
-
Interesting. Ao kiji. Why would The generic horde characters have a freezing animation, if logically the only one in the game to possibly get that same freezing affect were the playable characters?
Did they really nerf this games roster. -

For when he attacks the main cast and allies?
Besides, it's not an animation, they just hold the pose they were in and get a different skin thrown on top of them. Hancock's powers have the same effect.
Did they really nerf this games roster.
No, because I said when the game was first announced that it would be 10-15 playables given track record of every anime tie in game ever and development time. Especially in the first game where they had to do everything from the ground up.
Next game they'll already have the character models and just have to work on move sets, so a whole messload of enemies should be playable in the sequel. Probably be a roster of 40-50 by the third game in 2014.
-
I am sorry if this has already been stated, but any ideas on how much this game will cost on PSN?
-

Probably 50$ if Orochi 3 is any indication.
-
I agree completely. BUT, Hancock is playable, so it' expected to see that. He is doing a move to characters that it would be otherwise impossible to hit them with (unless when you fight kiji he hits his own guys, in which case. IGNORE ME), so witht hat development in mind, wouldn't you think that the creators of this game at least had the idea or put in the effort to have ao kiji fight these scores of enemies? Again, just by watching this, i think it's pretty foolish to not at least play as these dudes in free mode or whatever.
Edit: then again its THE big One piece game, they could have been as lazy as they wanted and have it sell big.
-
Making a complete balanced moveset isn't the same as making up 4 moves. Not without making all the characters identical and boring. It takes TIME to make a proper playable character, what about that is so hard to understand?
The inevitable sequel next year will no doubt have an extra 10-15 playables and a few new stages(Skypiea, Thriller Bark, Fishman Island seem likely, with a chance of some East Blue) , and a couple move tweaks for the characters that were already in. Its how Musou games work.
And again, that freezing effect is already active for other stuff. It being linked to Aokiji's attack isn't surprising. There's no extra coding involved to have that effect hit fodder compared to bigger allies or enemies. An enemy target is an enemy target. In fact, it would probably be harder to code it not to.

Did they really nerf this games roster.Like I said when I the videos, it is clear these characters are not finished as playable. They work fine as bosses but they lack an enormous ammount of moves when you compare them to any of the StrawHats.
This is just a sample on what we can expect.@RobbyBevard:

Are the Musou games usually yearly? I never followed the series but I got the impression that they release a new entry about every two years.
And something that's bothering me with the new playable characters for the next games, the New World StrawHats. The monster trio and Brook can be made without much effort, they're still close to the old selfs, change half a douzen of moves and animations and it's ok but the others gonna take more work. Usopp, Nami and Robin didn't change much in appearence so the models aren't hard to do but their moves changed alot, it will almost count as building a new character from the ground up. And then Franky a Chopper, new models and totally new moves.
If we're gonna get more 15 chars next game the StrawHats occupy half of that number again. That could reduce the changes of most of the bosses in this game becoming playable in the next and getting really new chars, both from the sagas that were skipped (Enel, Moria) and from expanding the ones we already have (Mr.1, supernovas).
-
As long as we get the SHs TS versions (completed this time), Smoker, Eneru and Moriah and most of the bosses in the previous game as playable I'll be happy. My problem with the game was how little there was outside of the Main Log. Would rather see everyone previously playable get their own Logs than see minor chars like Drake or Hawkins as playable.
