Translation: It had Koopalings!
Tho I still would have liked actual characters instead of Generic Toad Blue and Generic Toad Yellow. Maybe a return to Mario 2 and give us "Toad" and playable Peach/Toadstool.

Waluigi still aint been used in forever. And Wario Land seems to not be getting any new games in a while.

I'd be totally down for that (it'd be nice to finally have Waluigi in an "official" game for once) they could elaborate on the competitive aspect of NSMBWii by having teams. Also let the player choose who to play as, Player 1 is Mario, Player 2 is Luigi etc. is lame.

I'd like the overworld to be more open, like Super Mario World. truly hidden exits all over the place, alternate pathways, star road, the whole world actually joining together, etc.
I'm not a fan of the SMB3-style maps, especially with the random roaming enemies who just get in the way. SM3DL was on the most "flash game level select" side of the spectrum, but at least it didn't have any bullshit.

That would actually convince me. If you could choose from one of the four that are Mario, Luigi, Toad and Peach, and have them have actually different gameplay, the game could actually go beyond NSMBWii.
although I also like the idea of Wario and Waluigi and including a competitive aspect. Perhaps the chance to NOT share items you get from toad houses, and for each character to have their own pool of coins.
The sad thing is I'm expecting for them to simply allow you to use your mii, and that would be really really lame.

Yeah, that controller is a smart move by Nintendo. They're smartly covering their bases.
Also, I like the idea of being able to pause the game to get specific help from other people in the game. It's a fun feature.

That Wii U Pro controller is awesome. Although it looks a lot like the Xbox 360 controller. But eh.
lol at video chat. Realistically speaking, we'll probably have something like a chat roulette going on, where people are going to be half naked or even worse..
But I like their intent though.

The Wii U Pro Pad does look great. It has the same shape as a 360 controller, which I love. Only the right analogue stick isn't placed as nicely.

Just add a couple of triggers and rumble it would have been perfect.

Yeah Nintendo's going to have a tough job ahead of them fighting the dark side of the internet. Even still, there's some cool stuff going on there. The functionality of that controller just keeps getting more impressive. They're really tapping into all the social potential it has.
Pro controller is definitely a nice touch as well. Nintendo seems to be doing whatever it has to in order to keep the third party developers happy. And thank god for that. Nintendo software + third party software = not enough time in my life.

-The sticks on that Pro Controller look to be in an extremely uncomfortable position for reaching the buttons, but that might be years of Dualshock training.
-Has anyone yet explained how the WiiU is supposed to be for extra non-television functions at one moment and operable as its own monitor in place of the television at others? In other words, aren't the two selling points for the Game Pad opposed? -

No, I don't think so. They're coming off having the worst online imaginable, people won't give it the benefit of the doubt if they have to pay on top.
Plus from the way they've spoken in the past, it doesn't sound like something they'd be willing to do just yet. Look at how long it took them to do dlc.
