Several things:
- Bonney WAS caught, but she has now escaped custody.
- Drake and Hawkins have been mentioned by characters, SINCE the timeskip, as being exceptional threats in the New World.
- All of the Supernovae (besides Zoro) were seen on a recent color spread, post-timeskip, alive and well! So they're fine.
Where has this been mentioned?
Also what everyone thinks about Garp and Sengoku, in terms of power level? Stronger than the admirals, equal or weaker? And are Sengoku and Garp equal in strength? Or there is no point in discussing about power levels for characters we have rarely seen fighting?

I would go with not discussing.
About Bonney, it hasn't been mentioned but we have seen on the pic that shows the supernovas post-timeskip that she is hiding in some big cloak and not in prisoners uniform so its pretty much assumed that she has escaped.
-
Where has this been mentioned?
In the weird newspaper thing. The same thing that revealed Moria is still active in the New World.

Here is the most recent Christmas omake by Oda.
Is anyone willing to translate it? I can do the cleaning and typesetting.!

In all honesty, I think the MAIN villain of One Piece will turn out to be either:
1. Don Quixote Doflamingo
2. Marshell D. Teach (Blackbeard)
3. Monkey D. Dragon
4. The Gorosei (leaders of the World Government)That is…if One Piece will even have a main villain. I honestly don't think Akainu has any potential to be the main villain of the series, unless he becomes...different as the series progresses. (Just some random rambling).
My question:
How does Gear Second and Gear Third work, exactly?
-
gear 2nd is luffy using his rubber body to pump his blood faster, faster movement means greater heat which is why steam leaves his body. gear 3rd is just luffy blowing air into one of his body parts, since air has mass his 200 feet arms do quite a bit of damage, unlike useless balloons filled with air. #troll physics 101.

How did Otohime give birth to Shirahoshi without dieing? This has always puzzled me especially when I see the size of Shirahoshi as a baby/ child

Um, fishes lay eggs? I always thought it was like this:
Fishes lay eggs > Mermaids are half fish > Mermaids lay eggs?

Fishes lay eggs > Mermaids are half fish > Mermaids lay eggs?
I never thought of that! I always assumed they had the human reproductive ways. I guess the bottom half is fish-like so would make sense to lay eggs.

Oda has actually answered this question: fishmen/mermaids are mammals so they give birth in same fashion as humen. Caimie also (kinda) confirmed that mermaids can poop.

That's right Oda said mermaids give birth. I've an idea about Shirahoshi's size, I've had it since we saw Whitebeard's flashback to his cleanshaven youth on an unnamed crew.He did not look as tall back then as he does now. There are others who are slightly taller or 2-3 times the size of others, Like Jozu, Atmos, Blemheim. This idea of mine is bolstered by CC's activities right now. My idea?
It is possible for someone who is born normal sized to experience unusual growth to become taller than normal. It could be a sudden influx of growth hormones at a certain stage of growth (Shirahoshiwas born normal-size then grew) or the pituary gland does not slow doer or stop the production fo growth hormones as it should so the person continues to grow (Whitebeard).
Ironically, the second one is possible in real world. The pituary gland is the reason for some cases of giantism in the real world. One case the man was normal sized as a young teen but by 18 hadn't slowed down and was 1 ft taller than classmates, and it continued into adulthood until he was nearly 7 1/2 feet tall and had the gland removed.
I think the candy that CC gives the kids is just a control to keep them there, its during the checkups thye get experimented on. Maybe drink a serum or get a injection that affects the pituary gland speeding up growth hormones.

My question may sound inappropriate but I just have to burb it out: HOW did the king and the queen succeed in having children…? The king is HUGE!
I'm a terrible person.
-
Still I liked my theory of mermaids and merman (like Neptune and Otohime) laying eggs/ reproducing like fish. My theory is better than Odas tbh it makes more sense. Exactly as that Rumble Ball mistake he did with Chopper, the guys that were saying that the rumble ball was just to increase the effects had a better theory than Odas answer about a "rumble ball candy".
-
Shirahoshi certainly came out smaller, maybe not but much. But probably like real babies soon after they are born, within the first month they have a growth spurt. I know mine did.

It's not like that's the only uhm… strange thing in One Piece. I guess we should just accept it as it is and not ask questions. I wonder what would Oda answer to this one though~

Maybe he is just always joking in the SBS, and he expects us to come up with better answers.

Thing is even in real world penetration is not always needed, just to avoid people yelling about not wanting to read certian words (such as name of genitials) will do this=
! it is possible for semen that is spilled outside of vagina for the semen to 'swim' in the moisture to inside towards the womb. It decreses chances of prenancy but its still possible. That is why teens are warned that pulling out before they spill is not a good means to prevent pregnancy.

Only when you thik of just the merfolk or human men with them but it falls apart and does not work for human women and mer/fishfolk interbreeding. Reason is reproducing like fish happens outside the body, female releases eggs and male releases sperm on them. But human women do not release ovum (eggs) outside the body, they have to be fertilized inside the fallopian tupes for healty child development.
Oda does say that the humans can breed with the mer/fishfolk he does not say just human men can do it.

Not to be morbid but this seemed like a great place for the this stupid question. If something happens to Oda before he finishes the series does he already have it laid out so it can be finished or are we just stuck with an unfinished great story? I mean we have 10 more years of One Piece and anything can happen to anyone in that time.

I have thought about that as well. I guess his editors know how the story will end and try to finish it the best they can with Odas assistants trying their best to imitate his style and respect Odas own ideas. Would end up being rushed tho.
It could also just end with one chapter summarizing the ending and what happened and how. -

how to throw a finger to the world 101.
I'm afraid I don't understand the reference. x) If Oda were to die in these 10 years then the series would most likely end in one chapter summarizing the end.
-
i know, but it's still a troll move to pull, hence the finger to the world (can you guess which finger? :P) and if those circumstances come to pass i think jump would receive millions of death threats if they give a 1 chapter summary, although the way you're speaking that would seem to be the custom of how they do it, i really have no clue what they'd normally do, has an author of a very popular series ever died?

I don't know but dragonball GT was made independently from Akira Toriyama and it ended being the biggest piece of shit in the universe. Doesn't sound good does it…?

Does Oda have any mangaka who are particularly close friends?
-

Yes he actually has. He is very close friends with Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro. The author of Toriko. They have done several cross-overs.

If that, there are some mangas that end abruptly for various reasons and never are finnished. I'd assume Japan has copyright laws, but I do not know if a manga is covered by that…. would the mangaka have to make a decission of who is able to finnish his work before he dies?

To those with great memory, or others, does anybody know the chapter(s) in which the strawhats state their dreams? Yes I know it is pretty vague, but thats the best I could put it. thanks in advance

The orginal five stated their dreaams as they were going up the Reverse Mountain on their wat to enter the Grand Line. They were at Rouge Town in ch 100, so its likely 100 or 101. I'll go check
EDIT= yup its ch 100 , 2 pages of it for the orginal 5 (those that were on the crew before entering Grand Line)
Sicne then I don't remember a page that clearly says all of them.
While they don't say it exactly, but in ch 653 they decribe it in a way to hint at their dreams…except Luffy (but he's says his dream more than anyone) and Robin, she was too busy laughing.
While Sanji's dream is to find All-Blue (the mythic sea with fish from all over the world), he didn't say anything to refer to it but instead refered to his position as cook . He said they didn't need to worry about food as long as he's there -

It's not the most explicit quote but Chopper pretty much states it here;

Moria was a regular independent pirate and not a shichibukai when he first went to the NW and lost to Kaidou, right? Want to make sure i remember this detail correctly.
-
Pretty sure you're right, it's how I've always seen it as well.
-
I can't remember if it was clearly stated but I was left with the impression that Moriah encountered Kaido before he became a Shichibukai.
-
Im pretty sure he wasn't a Shichi by that time yet.

Any Japanese readers or translators out there; In Impel Down when Luffy confronted Blackbeard, did Blackbeard say that Luffy's Haki has improved or did he mean willpower? Is there even a difference between the two words in Japanese? Could you even distinguish what a character is saying when talking about the two separate concepts? If so, how? Could you show me the Japanese characters for both?
-

When the chapter came out, even during spoilers, I remember it being a big deal that Oda used the same characters for Haki in this chapter and during Jaya when he was chasing down the Straw Hats. I don't speak or read Japanese but I do remember it being a big deal that he said his Haki has gotten better.

What IS the secret to Dr. Kureha's youth?? Yes i know, i'm sure someone has asked this :P
-
I think it's the plum wine she drinks all the time. Was it plum?
-
Another Kuma question.
Is the translation on this page (http://mangafox.me/manga/one_piece/v50/c484/11.html) accurate? Specfially the part about his shock waves traveling at the speed of light? Seems like it HAS to be a mistake for many reaseon.
-
Aside the Kureha's youth. Did anyone noticed that she looks like Capitan John (Thriller Bark). I mean she's 141 by now, so she has been for a long time and definitely was/is aware of the pre- and Roger era, and as everybody compare her to pirate-like nature.

The 'thing' with the glowing eyes in the center panel? Obviously, it's Doflamingo or an agent of Doflamingo. Really though…I don't know, and want to know the same.
-
No one knows what that thing is yet. I'ma pull a guess right out my ass and say it's the final ancient weapon Uranus.
Probably not, but if it was it wouldn't be too surprising.
-
if we're pulling stuff out of our asses i'll say it's pandaman.
