Y Ruler of Time is also a big fan of One Piece, and I do believe JewWario has mentioned that he likes the series, as well. There aren't too many anime reviewers in general on the site, though, so the relative lack of fans on the site isn't too surprising.

Didn't know about Y Ruler. And I never really expect any non-anime reviewers to like anime.
-
@RobbyBevard:
Hasn't Marzgurl pretty much only seen anime thats aired on Cartoon Network?
In spite of being one of their anime reviewers?
I'd say she's more an animation reviewer, really. I remember she reviewed all the Land Before Time movies and then she went on to review all of Don Bluth's movies. Plus, she had a video dedicated to Jim Cummings.
Didn't know about Y Ruler. And I never really expect any non-anime reviewers to like anime.
I listen to his and Rollo T's podcast every week, and yeah, he' a pretty big OP fan. I'd say that, for the most part, he actually shares our opinions on manga.
-
RolloT came from AP?! Wow… neat. Learn something new everyday.

Yep. In fact it was this very thread that got him interested in the site. Small world. He still shows up on occasion.
Are you all forgetting Suede? He's an anime reviewer for the site as well. Not sure what he thinks about One Piece though. For those that haven't seen it, here's his latest review of Pokemon: The First Movie with Linkara and JewWario. http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/ir/suede/animenia/34756-animenia-pokemon-the-first-movie
They plan to go through ALL the Pokemon movies. I can't wait for their reactions to Misty's replacements after Heroes. -
What the hell? Considering 90% of the series so far has been canon material, that is completely wrong. She doesn't seem to understand that "It's the journey not the destination". God damn it…
I wasn't exactly sure what she meant by that. Maybe she meant that for anyone looking for a 26 or 52 episode series ending with Luffy reaching the One Piece, yeah you could say that One Piece has a lot of filler. But then that would be a very stupid series. And it was still an ignorant statement because a big part of the series I think is Luffy ultimately making tons of allies (even out of former enemies) and taking down the WG by the end. With out 500+ episodes, it wouldn't have as big of an impact.
I liked the toonami video for the most part, but that just kind of left a sour taste in my mouth. Not because it sounded as though she as the other guy didn't really care for the series, but just how wrong the facts were. And it came almost right after some Bleach praising and Naruto defending. (Sort of they weren't fanboying/fangirling those series at all) I did leave her a brief message on her facebook about the facts being wrong, incase she does decide to upload that video.
And yeah she is more of an animation viewer. I think she has seen many anime series. She has put many things up for auction on her ebay account and she is a regular con goer. I don't know what genre she prefers or what kind of anime she watches. Though I wonder if she is growing out of it. Not that she doesn't like anime anymore. I used to be a hardcore anime fan. I would blindly buy titles off the shelf based on the cover or the description on the back. Now in my mid twenties, I read reviews any only watch new titles that people would consider among the best. I don't have as much time to be watching TV and many of the shojo titles I watched just dont' appeal to me anymore. I can't sit through an episode of Love Hina or Inuyasha anymore. The only series I still follow is One Piece and the only other show I recently watched is High School of the Dead. She doesn't do as many anime news editorials as she used to and she is focusing more on animation in general.

That's his "parody" (and I'm using that really lightly) of Angry Joe called "Pissed Jose". His schtick is that he's an extremely racist Mexican stereotype because he's too lazy to actually parody Joe and instead relies on making tired "taco and burrito" lines. I should mention that Joe is actually Puerto Rican.
lol, this dude would get seriously fucked up if took his little act on the road.
It being just filler and how they are never going to get the the grand line.
lolllll
If you folks haven't figured it out by now, this should be final proof that Marzgurl sucks. -
In fact, I think it's best to just stop talking about it (not MarzGurl, JO's stream). Next week we'll be watching FLCL.
-
JO has been keeping up with the Funimation DVDs, and said that she likes the series but it has yet to impact her as one of her all time favorites.
I remember her tweeting something about that, and saying she's watched right up to the end of Baratie. Which leaves her SOOOO CLOSE to one of the first big "impact moments" that One Piece delivers. Ack.
-
A response to an older video, the final review of the Warrior comics by Spoony and Linkara. I went over to I-Mockery and it turns out the artist, Callahan, actualy took an advance of half his salary for pages he later failed to deliver. So this kinda makes the Warrior calling him a "piece of shit" make a lick of sense. Also his rant was originaly a page longer but they apparently left a page out.

Todd in the Shadows has started a new series, where he'll look back and analyze one-hit-wonders, viewing both the song and the band behind them. This week, we're talking about A-Ha, and their biggest hit, "Take On Me". http://blip.tv/todds-pop-song-reviews/one-hit-wonderland-take-on-me-6073845 [hide]Wow. Didn't know that band was that successful. Also, I didn't know the romance story in the "Take On Me" video had a depressing continuation. =( Fuck that. I won't hate on the sequel's song, but I'd rather think the two stayed together. Either way, I hope Todd does more of this. It's really interesting.
People are saying the he's going to cover the Chumbawumba's next. I'm curious when he's going to talk about "What's Going On" by 4 Non-Blondes, a song he considers to be the worst one-hit-wonder of all time. I can't disagree, cause the singers voice is just so…..grinding. I don't think it's a bad song, cause....shamefully, I love the He-Man parody of it. Both because it's hilarious and has a pretty damn good beat to it.

This is a pretty cool idea. I'd love to see his take on Safety Dance and Come on Eileen. Of course, it would be the greatest damn thing if he did Rick Astley.

People, a warning: don't watch Nash's live shows. They're pretty shit.
-
hey, that trio pokemon review was awesome. let me know when they do more incase I miss them. :)
-
People, a warning: don't watch Nash's live shows. They're pretty shit.
I wouldn't say shit. It's just a live chat about some horrible stuff found on the internet.
-
They're too awkward to enjoy, too much dead space, too many lame jokes
His scripted shows are far superior

I agree, but that's sort of the point of a live show, isn't it ?
-
i would think the point of any show is to be entertaining.

It's entertaining, just as most non scripted chats can be.

Umm, I beg to differ. I actually that the reactions are more natural in the live shows and I don't really think the jokes are lame at all.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Anyway, the first of the 4th year anniversary crossovers is here with Sadpanda's Tutorial of How to Make a Crossover.

I haven't watched any of his live, but I generally watch his recorded shows on TGWTG. I'm definitely a fan of Tara, even though I know almost everyone finds her annoying.

a zinger from the unexpected source proves most entertaining

I hope he does one about Talk Talk lol.

A synth-pop group.
And then they uh…..transformed into something very different.

Different how___

Ever heard of Godspeed You! Black Emperor? or Sigur Ros?
Yeah, a synth-pop band is their forefather.

That's pretty neat.

We got ourselves another cross over from Sad Panda
http://blip.tv/zesadpanda/forget-about-it-top-10-tgwtg-reviewers-6080010
More than the actual video itself (which was pretty funny on it's own), I'm more interested in the end credits which basically list EVERYONE taking part in the fourth! Fuck yeah!
So people confirmed for the fourth are (note this is just a confirmation of people who are in it and not who aren't):
Doug, Spoony, Lindsay, Todd, Linkara, Brad (thank god, I thought he wasn't in it given his lack of twitter input, an anniversary without his sexy voice just isn't the same), Phelous, Lupa, JewWario, Mickey, JesuOtaku, Ed Glaser, Oancitizen, Paw, Lisa, Nella, Angry Joe, Bennet and two people I don't know, Holly Christine Brown and Vincent E.L. I'm assuming Holly is PushingUpRoses but who's Vincent?
Anyway, glad to have our usual gang of yahoo's together for another crazy adventure. Looking forward to the antics of our newbies especially Jesu and Oancitizen. I hope Lisa and Nella have more prominent roles as full-fledged reviewers rather than side character stuff.
-
Holly is the manager of the DHR and head administrator of TGWTG. Basically, she's one of the major people who makes sure everything goes well with the site and its content. She may or may not be in the crossover, but she probably took part in the shooting, regardless.
[hide][/hide]
PushingUpRoses, Sarah Wilson, is a video producer who gives videos of Let's Plays (mostly point and click, which special guests), reviews and talks about her huge fandom of the Monkeys, and basically, standard Vlogs. She's very good friends with Paw, Todd, and Spoony. I don't know if she's in the crossover or not, but I hope she is.
[hide][/hide]
=3
-
Oh yeah, Holly Brown, the Christine in the middle threw me off. Yeah, I know her. Does a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff for the site, she made most of the costumes in Suburban Knights. She was the one trying to corral the entire gang during the magfest panel.
I also know who PushingUpRoses is, I just didn't know her real name but now I do. I also noticed PushingUpRoses and Spoony seem to be very close given how they're always picking on each other on Twitter:P
JewWario let slip in a stream after he came back from the shooting that he had fun seeing PushingUpRoses again so she's probably in it.
-
@Thousand:

Okay, so I'm not the only one who notices this!
-
Vincent E.L. probably wasn't at the anniversary though. He's the guy that made Linkara's theme song, and since the video included a parody of the theme, Julien (SadPanda) was probably just giving special thanks for that. At least the bloopers in the video show he is human and his character somehow extends to forum posts.
As for Spoony and Roses, it's probably nothing serious. Just Spoony being his usual self. Then again, after his break-up with Scarlett he's been hitting on various gamer chicks (including Lisa Foiles).
-
I think he still hit on them even during his relationship. Spoony just be Spoony.
-
Speaking of Spoony, anyone know what's going on with him? He's doing like, this whole roleplay or story-telling thing on his Twitter. It's really weird.
-
The entertainer is entertaining? How weird. :P
-
Todd revealed that Sad Panda revealed the entire cast of the 4th year. Almost. So there are probably a few more left to reveal.
Also Doug released a video
where he said he won't be able to release any new stuff except Nostalgia Critics and Bum reviews for really big movies for a few months because of him working on the fourth. He also said the anniversary will be even bigger and better than before with some really good acting included and given the extra long time of editing, the fact that Doug and Rob worked on this script way in advance, the fact that every one including the most nitpicky of the reviewers like Spoony and Todd have been giving praises to the movie, I believe him and I'm really excited for it!!!
-
You know Doug, you don't really do Video Game Confessions or Ask that Guy all that often anyway. Just move em down to the bottom of the page and bump others up, instead of apologizing for not doing them practically every month.
I realize that anything Doug posts gets hits, probably more than anyone else on the site, but… as rarely as either of those come out, they could easily fit into the misc. section instead of having the first six sections all being Doug on the front page.
-

The really messed up part is that the VGC links on the home page actually redirects you to Blistered Thumbs.
-
Plus, personally… I don't like VGC. I don't really find them funny. The drawings always kind of cool, but otherwise the show is just kind of meh. I like Ask that Guy, but its never updated so like I forget about so often. Oh, and while I'm mentioning it, I know this is the popular thought, but I don't really watch the Bum Reviews much either. Haha.
-
Bum reviews are kind of one note. Once you've seen one of them, you've seen all of them, with the rare twist exception like him hating Citizen Kane or the black and white one. Bum reviews are reeeeally repetitive otherwise, I usually just skip em anyway.
And I like the game confessions, and that he's building up sort of an ongoing story in it, but when its months and months between them it loses all momentum.
-
I'd agree, but I still find the line, "Jeez, why are the Nazis always the bad guys in these flicks?", to be hysterical.
-
Eh, I think Doug manages to keep it more or less fresh enough with each Bum Review through some pretty great jokes. And if you've seen the movie you'll probably agree with a lot of the points he makes.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Anyway, for those of you who are not too fond of Nash's live (and, I guess, for those who are) you may be interested to know that Todd makes a guest appearance this week.
