Someone said that was actually Max, from this chapter.

Someone said that was actually Max, from this chapter.
Well Max sure has come a long way from having broom sticks in his ass. Now he's on par with Natsu (pre-bullshit permanent lightning power up mode).
Good for the lad.
Whenever Fairy Tail had some kind of event, like that pageant at the beginning of the Laxus arc, Max was the guy who was always being the emcee. And yes, he did get a broom inserted up his ass at one point.
Speaking of Laxus, maybe mangastream's translation might be a little clearer, but ''I just got this lightning power just now?'' Did he go up to Laxus and ask ''Hey, I'm about to have a fight with Max, can you hit me with five thousand volts to make sure I'm energized for it?'' or something? Does this mean he can also combine his fire magic with Wendy's wind to create…more fire, I guess?
And aside from my earlier status quoooooooooooooo!! lamentations, the only other things I have to comment on right now are: oh, so there is reason why Porluska and Grandine have the same voice in the anime, and that colorspread reminds me of that One Piece one with Luffy and Nami somewhere around late Drum/early Alabasta.
Isn't Natsu supposed to be the type of character that wants to get stronger on his own?
Why is he jumping at the chance to take the easy way out and take drugs?
My best guess as to why Natsu is retaining Laxus' powers is because Laxus' Dragonslayer Powers, and maybe his magic in general (as implied by Ivan) are completely dependent on the Lachryma that Ivan put in his body. Being that the Lachryma is an actual physical object (a crystal), it's possible that Laxus could have put a few shards of the Lachyrma into Natsu when he transferred his magic, which would allow Natsu to retain Laxus' lightning magic.
It shouldn't be any surprise… look at Inuyasha... how many demons and their mother demons had pieces of the Sacred Jewel stuck in them randomly? Then again, that was a series where one of the main characters had a black hole in his hand...
Natsu ate lacrima and has shown no ability to retain it.
@Lazy:
Nasty ate lacrima and has shown no ability to retain it.
Eating something is different from having it implanted into you. Especially since we don't know the exact infusion process.
I guess, but that wouldn't be a very good explanation.
lol I typed Nasty by accident.
Quick, somebody say something witty, new chapter is out.
Hody now got followers so they can share some pills.
Why was this chapter called Lucy and Natsu?
Probably because of the color spread i.e. Mashima was that lame and unimaginative.
To all who don't remember Max.

So, what we learned in this chapter is:
-The timeskip was even more useless then we thought, cause the guild didn't even really need help with their problems. They just decided not to help themselves because…?
-Natsu and crew suck more then I expected. They also want free power ups. Is that breaking the 4th wall?
-Gildartz is an asshole, and the guild loves how he asks all of them to help themselves while he does nothing for them. What a guy. Also, worst Shanks ever.
Why was this chapter called Lucy and Natsu?
It wasn't - going by the Manga Stream translations of both this chapter and the previous chapter, it's called Sky Dragon Grandine.
Anyways, the chapter was okay - it was pretty funny at points, and it's nice to see that the fodder did improve over the time-skip. As far as why they didn't attack Twilight Ogre, it makes sense - the last time they fought with a guild without permission from the council (Oracion Seis), the council used it as a reason to suggest disbanding the guild entirely, regardless of the fact that said guild was illegal and attempting to use an ancient superweapon. On the other hand, Makarov tends not to be too concerned with that, given the sort of influence that he generally has.
I figure that what Romeo's talking about it a tournament of some sort, going by Macao's reaction, which could be interesting. At the very least, it would give us some opponents for the guild who could still be treated as sympathetic characters, which hasn't happened too often in this series.
Why was this chapter called Lucy and Natsu?
Its not
Manga fox released a bad translation with cleaning errors and such…......
So Wendy missing an eye was a cleanup error…
Wow...
I can understand the consequences of reading shit for free on the internet, but that's kinda shameful.
I can't be fucked even reading this. I mean really, what's the point?

Give em a bit of slack, their writing and script correction might be horrible, but I'd never be able to redraw shit like they do.
Seriously, I'm amazed how good people can do these things, so much so that for years I never suspected a thing :P
What do they need to redraw? The speech bubbles?
@Lazy:

The stuff obscured by all the ads on the bottom of the pages. The title page is usualy overflowing with add text.
As to Natsu suddenly using lightening in combination with his Fire Dragons Roar, it isn't complete bs. This is magic, and many mages have been shown to have multiple magical powers (Bixlow for example has Human Possession and Figure Eyes). It's possible that Natsu has a basic understanding of lightening magic thanks to Luxus giving him his power. Again Magic isn't a DF where the person in question is given one ability and can't expand on that to include other non-related abilities.
That being said I think it's about time Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Wendy, Gajeel, Juvia, Kana start learning some new magic to compliment their own.
Just got done watching the new episode. Natsu vs Zancrow was nicely animated. The animation team show cased lissana fighting against Azuma for a bit. Seems like next weeks episode will focus on Mirajane vs Azuma. Azuma has yet to mention about having a secret mission and there are no sly hints at Blue Note yet

It's a lot better for him to keep it than it being a random asspull, Natsu should have been able to eat lighting in small quantities since tower of paradise, using it during the magnolia battle and here.
The new clasic, instead of training the hard way, specialy when they don't have a time limit or a terrible incident comming, the mashima protagonist goes to the forest to ask the weird lady for drugs! What a role model!
The guild not attacking the ogre guild because they owed them money was terrible, it should have ended the instant that they attacked. A child, and their women.
Markov and Gildarts are assholes, he goes over thatguy's head and just fires him after he said that he could stay as the guild master, if you weren't going to let him keep the title, don't tell him that you will let him keep the title! and Gildarts just going away like that.
Grandine twist is weird, let's see where it goes, and a friendly tournament.. you can check out "next arc has potential!" from the list.
I actually like that it was a point to show everybody frozen in magic ice has fallen behind the formerly lame and weak FT guild members to the point they have to kind of struggle back to be at the top let alone have their guild reach their former prominence. So the timeskip actually did have some sensible outcomes.
Ofcourse that can all be shattered if they are given deus ex machina power up drugs just so they can be on top again. given how long Mashima's works go I'd think that's not going to happen but they'll gain power ups in some other way.
Wish Cana had kept that fairy law magic she had or w/e it was called. Cuz I get the feeling she'll get it out the blue when needed.
I think Cana still has Fairy Glitter(God damned.. what a dumb name), and I'm sure her uses for it would come in later.
And I didn't comment on this before, but I don't really mind Natsu keeping the lightning based abilites. It was freaking stupid how he got it, but it just surprised me that it wasn't a one-time thing… Like God Flames... Golden Fire... Tower Rubble...
In before Natsu obtains another elemental powerup on top of the lightning-fire crap.
To all who don't remember Max.
http://www.mangareader.net/135-57472-15/fairy-tail/chapter-200.html
I definitely did not notice that the first time reading through.
Holy shit Mashima, LOL!
I think Cana still has Fairy Glitter(God damned.. what a dumb name), and I'm sure her uses for it would come in later.
I remember the tatto signifying she had it disappeared after the fight was over. So I assumed she no longer had it.
So…..I see Lucy happens to have changed to a more regular and fan-servicey outfit. :ninja:
Oh? Well, that's a detail that flew over my head. It's either gone or a thing that probably appears during use.
@Zik:

I can hardly remember anything from this chapter. Nothing really happened.
The FT guild fodder have become stronger! Except they haven't really.
Gildartz is the new guild master! Except… he's not.
Wendy has some kind of relation to Polyushka! Does anyone really care?
Not an infuriating chapter, but a very, very meh chapter.
I definitely did not notice that the first time reading through.
Holy shit Mashima, LOL!
I seem to be missing something…
uh so the guild actually wasn't weak after all? turns out they were incredibly strong and just sat around getting shit on because… it was the right thing to do? i have no words.
I want Jets old design back. I miss the coat and the top hat
That was the highlight of the series for me. I'll never forget it.

It would have been fine if
a) he tried to use the move, and could only summon the tiniest bit of lightning
b) it showed him actually learning how to use it properly
The fact it uses too much magic power is good, but not enough.
I actually hope there's another 'time-skip', not like OP but like HxH, where maybe there's a montage of each of them training for months or so.

and this should be the music during said montage:
If that happened, it would become the world's greatest manga.
They'll have a montage of taking magic steroids.
It's that week again

Okay chapter. It was fairly uneventful, but I'm glad the mystery over whether the old woman was Grandine has been resolved. Also, gotta praise Mashima's art, that coliseum looks amazing.

"sounds like Lucy's constipation issues"
LOL, what the fuck?
totally caught me off guard.

Btw does that mean they built this monstrosity in less then 7 years ?

http://mangastream.com/read/fairy_tail/51926039/17 Btw, anyone find something weird about Natsu on the bottom left panel ? He seems…..different. More anime-like if you will.

http://mangastream.com/read/fairy_tail/51926039/19 Oh you mean Gildarts' wish of you doing all the work while he does jack all to actually help the guild pull itself together, and instead goes off to sleep with a bunch of random women ?
Ya know, I'm starting to regret that he didn't die.

http://mangastream.com/read/fairy_tail/51926039/20 And this is, by the by, the ideal place to stuff your "foreshadowing" Hiro.
Just telling you in advance when you hype up a new guild that will get nerfed two chapters afterwards.
Oh Fairy Tail…
When you have no idea where to take your plot...do a tornament arc!
All the previous bad arcs had at least an intriguing beginning. This one doesn't have even that.

By that logic then this is should be an amazing arc XD
