Smoker could shape his smoke into a sword and then solidify it with Haki (he's obviously going to learn it if he hasn't already). Or maybe multiple swords or all kinds of weaponry. I'd like to see him adapt his fighting style this way to take on Luffy, who's pretty tough to beat in a sheer physical power contest which is what most of Smoker's offenes has been so far when he doesn't just lolpindown his opponent. I think out of all the Logia users we've seen, Smoker appears to have the most constant control over his element, being able to send it out in large quantities and many directions while still maintaining full control over it all. Molding it into sharp edges at his will would be a very dangerous technique indeed.

I thought Smoker was already able to control the density of his smoke without the use of Haki. :wassat:
And there's no evidence that Haki can solidify things (at least, not to the point of turning gas into solid matter).

Weather Haki can solidify things like smoke or not I don't think matters or even necessary since we already know Ace made solid lances out of fire against Black Beard.

You're ringht he can, it was shown in Louge Town.

"Weahter Haki"? Sorry but that is not one of the three types of haki. Oda's only one type of haki that Ace has, Haoshoku Haki, he never said any other type. I went to the OP wikia to see if I missed something since I never erad anything in the manga that said the lance was made solid. http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Mera_Mera_no_Mi Here's the quote about the lance=
"Shinka: Shiranui (神火 不知火, Shinka: Shiranui, literally meaning "Sacred Fire: Mysterious Light at Sea"): Ace hurls long lances made out of fire. The lances have the combined effect of simultaneously burning an opponent while piercing them. This was first seen being used against Blackbeard when Ace was being pulled forward by the former's power"
I can see why some may think that its solid since it pierced BB, but a laser can pierce a target but its not solid. The same about the lance, it was very condensed and Blackbeard also being a logia was able to look like he was grabbing it but that doesn't prove it was truly solid.

Forgive me I should have spelled it "whether." Still you couldn't at least assume that's what I meant? Then you look to the wiki for confirmation? Good gravy, some people…

Well good grief, I said that I wanted to know if I misssed something…it has happened and I like to know about their abilities. So fi I missed something, why can't I check it out? Its how we fans keep from qouting stuff thats not cannon (I'm not refering to you there, but some very outragous things like Crocodile is really Lufffy's mom, some people have taken small info and gone hog wild). Sorry but I've seen too many fans get info wrong not catching it, I try to quote them and someone tells me I'm wrong, so now I try to find out if its canon before talking about it.
Sorry on the wrong word, if it was misspelled I'd of caught it But I didn't catch the wrong word. Spelling mistakes happen so often that they are more eyecatching than a grammer mistake. And in the context of the sentence didn't clairify it, so it came across that way.

Calm down guys, misunderstandings happen often on i-net forums.
Everything is fine… -
Could someone remind me what order the SH's arrived in sabaody post time skip? Thanks very much, I'm just having trouble finding that info all together in one spot and I don't remember the chapter number it was in.

Also, I too would assume that Smoker could hone his powers to form solid objects out of smoke; he's already shown the ability to do that, actually, so a further refinement is not out of the question at all. And considering Crocodile and Kizaru have show the ability to create solid objects with their elements, Smoker should be able to accomplish a similar feat. Smoke is in fact a solid, and Crocodile has shown the ability to control the density of his sand, so there's no reason to assume Smoker would need Haki to do that.
-
Kizaru's wasn't exactly solid, arguably. If we're referring to the sword he made when fighting Rayleigh, then we're talking about an opponent with powerful Haki properties.
However, total agreement with the statement on Crocodile. -
That's true. I've actually always thought that situation could be one of two things; either Kizaru was able to solidify light into the form of a sword, or if it was Rayleigh's CoA that was stopping it (implying that if he hadn't the lightsword would have simply split his sword in half like a lightsabre).

Damn I missed that somehow and I'm pretty sure someone like redon has posted this here or it is a damn fake… Where is this pic from and are there more of it?
Thank You

Hey I'm probably slow on this, but in watching the special edited versions of the Marineford arc, I noticed that Thatch has shoes on, in the early eps, like teh ones Ace wears later–for example at his execution--but Ace has his boots the entire time he is attacking WB and at his party to be 2nd division commander. I need to check if that is the same in the manga, but it made me wonder if he changed shoes in honor of Thatch... Nothing major--just an interesting thing that again points out Oda's attention to detail.

The WG game him those shoes after they released him from ID.

Where can I read the discussions for earlier chapters like the SKYPIEA arc?
There's a sticky at the top of this manga section called Past Chapter Discussions: http://apforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=41

The last chapter on there is 355 and I'm looking for the older ones, help?
-
I dunno–may have been part of the archives that were lost way back when the forums went down big time for a while. Sorry.

Anyone know if the Mugiwara's Jolly Rogers have/are getting an update for the New World? Like Usopp has new weapon and look, Nami hasnt worn a bandanna since early East Blue, Zoros only got one eye etc. Wanna get a tattoo of them in a line across my lower back (leaving space on the 2 ends for the final two Nakamates) but dont wanna get em if they gonna be outdated for the next however many years in the New World.
Changed from this?

Well, there are the ones from the Anime Calendar 2012. Post by Skadi in that thread: http://apforums.net/showthread.php?t=34034&p=2403135&viewfull=1#post2403135

Regardless, if it's for a tattoo, I'd advise against showing them to your artist on a black background. You can see what it'll do to your Zoro one.*

Friction. Don't get why people believe Luffy is just rushing more blood to his arm than normal G2.

That was from this image:
[hide][/hide]We learned that Oda drew Kimura in Shanks style (WITH AN ARM) and that image will be released in a photo album going on sale on September 30th called 'Takuya Kimura X Men's Non-No ENDLESS'.
You can refer to this thread for more info about that illustration by Oda.

Ussop is one of my favorite characters even before he went mansopp, but reading the current arc I am loving ZEO, if Ussop is the King of snipers, well he answers to another King, the King of Liars, read ZEO who I just think is one of the few characters in this arc that is exiting. So my question is if Ussop had Zeo's personality( as in ultra liar) do you guys think that the people who don't like Ussop would have liked him more?

I know it is friction, but what causes the friction? Is it his arm and his haki? Please enlighten me.

Yes, I kinda hated Ussop until the Thriller Bark arc.

It's his arm. His Haki might allow him to be unharmed by the fire but I don't think it generates it. Then again I could be wrong, it's been known to happen.

Extreme speed and its the Haki that keeps him from burning.

-
He does a gomu gomu no jet rifle before he did the fire fist so it works like Sanji's Diable Jambe.

Alright, thanks to those who answered!

I dunno if you guys already came up with an idea already, but in this pic, what do you guys think Nami is doing?I guess it's obvious that she's creating a cloud thats scooping up alot of fodders, kinda like what Smoker does:
!
-
Maybe, or it could be like a wall. Back in Skypeia, we learned that certain Milky Dials can create especially tough material like iron. (Remember, Ohm and his iron barbs? It's that.) Pleased to know that Nami can utilize her
magicscientific staff to create a similar effect. -
Just wondering since it's very likely already been asked. Just thought of it when I watched anime
!

The guy knew the order in which SHs (Sanji and Luffy at the least) arrived. And grasping numbers is one of Observation Haki's specialty. This should indicate something right

Retard, he knew because he got there first. He knew when somebody arrived because HE WAS THERE.
I can't believe this Haki bullshit has gotten to the point where somebody thinks that knowing which order your friends arrived is a special power.

Because HE WAS THERE? Okay, I know people are about Haki stuff.. but you know how retarded what you said is right. SA is a pretty big place. How the fuck does he know when somebody arrives because he was there? Because Zoro is watching over the whole place with one eye?
Man, you are total bullshit.. going straight to namecalling. It was a legit post in the right thread. Rayleigh already said you could grasp number with it in the manga… and atleast anime shows him counting numbers of beasts Luffy can't defeat
Don't be a wuss.. reply. And want to see reply that isn't full of shit.

It isn't like he came to the Arcipeligo and wandered around for days. He met with Rayleigh and Shakky, and we assume he was hanging around there for the most part. Sanji met with him and told him that Usopp, Nami, and Robin arrived. He KNEW everybody except Luffy was there.

You assume huh.
Let's assume Zoro and Sanji (with Zoro meeting up with others) talked about it if you want. :getlost: (still, we don't know)
Sanji knew Robin and Luffy hasn't come yet **[[/B] He didn't know what number Robin and Luffy would be ].. and that would be a random guess of 50-50 for Zoro to know what number Luffy came. **[[/B] He seemed sure telling Luffy what number he is. ]Okay, so it's a legit post?

I Just want to make sure we're on the same page. You think that Zoro used Haki to discover the order that everybody arrived. That he used a technique that he hasn't shown any SOLID proof of having, and that his mentor over the timeskip never showed. As opposed to the most logical answer of, "Sanji told him".
That's exactly like saying "Chopper found them because he has Haki. It could have been by smell, but he might have learned Haki from the birds that never have shown any Haki".
-

I was going to stop posting on this.. but I just see total idiocy and can't
My argument:
Good hint of Observation Haki:
- Zoro knew what number Sanji is. (We don't know if Zoro met up with others earlier, or if Sanji told Zoro all the numbers of the rest offscreen which Zoro used to make fun of Sanji with onscreen. And Robin and Luffy - Sanji didn't know theirs.
- Zoro knew what number Luffy was (He said it like he was sure… not guesswork)
You're saying
that's like
- Chopper found them because he has Haki
- He might have learned Haki from birds whose shown no signs of Haki
(Manga shows Chopper's sense of smell is fail or rather he is gullible... I don't even want to bring up Haki)
Hell, let's forget the argument...
Just tell me hows that like what I'm trying to say?

The reason I brought up the Chopper thing is that while you may take some things from Zoro has foreshadowing he will have Haki, there is no SOLID PROOF, just as there is no solid proof of Chopper having it. I brought it up because Zoro has to LEARN it somehow. Mihawk never showed any Haki and while we can speculate, he used it, and may not have it. Therefore we can't say "Zoro has Haki" because he needs to learn it from someone and as far as we know Mihawk doesn't have it.
Just as we can say Chopper doesn't have Haki because nobody on that island had it as far as we know.
-
I never brought up Mihawk showing signs of Haki. This was never about Mihawk. Not talking about what happened during the 2 years… just what's seen on SA 2 years later.
It was a legit post on a hint of Zoro showing signs of using observation haki (not some bs post similar to what you said about Chopper using haki to find them). And not the pre-timeskip stuff people always using.
Wow.. ur still going on about this huh with no real argument…. I am done with this.
