The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)
-
-
LinkXZelda,LinkXZelda,LinkXZelda,LinkXZelda,LinkXZelda,LinkXZelda!!
The new day/night system sounds interesting and lol at Link falling off his bed while sleeping! -
Wait, Earth Temple? As in THE Earth Temple from the Wind Waker or just an earth themed temple?
-
- Gaepora laugh like this "Hoo hoo hoo", which seems Owl like.
They're making the owl a major character in this game?
… -
I'm kind of glad Ghirahim isn't the head honcho, just didn't feel that great as the end villain.
-
He's great for a villain that messes with you in every point of the game, but eventually he will lose every ounce of intimidation… I can just feel it. So I'm excited about the reveal of someone else being the main villain.
NEW Info!!!
http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=162469
From NGamer! - Stalfos can come in groups of four
- "the toughest Zelda yet"
- Mogmas patrol the volcanic area; are the ones who split and bury the key
- Phi has an icy demeanour
- There seems to be some puzzle in which you’ll have to roll a bomb down a sandbank
- NGamer says that the sky realm is the true overworld while Hyrule is made up of self-contained hubs
- One dungeon has a mine cart; powered up by rainbow energy
- Hit mystical stones and color will light up the area so the cart can continue on
- “What starts as airy school drama – the other boys can’t stand out elfin hero – evolves into a daring chase movie, with Link skydiving through the clouds to do repeat battle with a scenery-chewing demon lord”
What the heck does the last point even mean?
-
Ghirahim has strange tastes in food? lol
-
It's an term referring to acting. When an actor just draws all attention to themself the few times they're shown. It's basically a "I'm only in 3 scenes, better make it COUNT!" kinda attitude. Sounds fun!
-
! The scenery chewing monster's probably that giant flying monster that I think ate Zelda.
-
Love is in the air~~~~~~
I wont lie… I was smiling throughout the video... and maybe squealed as well. Am I hopeless?
Oh and these trailers too!!
-
Ooohhh, that's it, I'm now officially HYPED!
-
Yay!!!! Hop on the HYPE train!
-
Ah, seeing those trailers… You can just feel the adventure that awaits!
I can't wait for thanksgiving break. I'll be playing this game all day long.
-
Ooookay, I'm on the hype train! When's this out again? November?
-
In 51 days… in other words, Nov 20th! (17th for Europe).
It's too far away! -

It's too far away!Between this and Skyrim, I swear I'm gonna be a recluse.
-
Between this and Skyrim, I swear I'm gonna be a recluse.
I'd pick Skyward Sword over anything in a heartbeat. But that's cause Zelda is my favourite franchise and they've never made a bag game. Plus, that bundle and the limited anniversary CD!
Anyone know how to make an animated Gif? Can someone PLZ make me one in avatar size of
From 0:27-0:30 (ending of the scene) with it repeating over and over! I'm pretty desperate XD
It's just too cute! -
I have no idea why I wasn't hype as FUCK before, but I sure am now. thank god I have a month-long winter break, so I can play all these damn GAMES that are coming out…
-
I'm so excited for this game.
Especially after seeing this:
!
The music is amazing!

Those Kakiwi things are sooooo fikkin cute! Why do I have a feeling that their somehow linked to a certain divine tree ;)
-
One MONTH!!!
Anyone see the leaked 15 minutes of footage (first 15 minutes).
Ive been watching it over and over and I just love the beginning of the game. Prob the best Zelda beginning so far. -
Nope, no way. I'm going into this as blind as possible. Trailers and snippits of gameplay? Fine. 15 minuets of the opening scene? Sorry, I'll pass.
-
No i havn't however the official Nintendo magazine of the UK has the first review of skyward sword and t got 98%. When i actually get my copy (should be tomorrow) i'll write down what they say but 98% is a first for them i believe
-
It tied for highest rating with OoT3D I believe.
So yes it's tied for "highest rated" game, even beating TP, SMG and SMG2.So yes I'm super excited!!! They even said it's "the best Zelda game yet"
-
Yeah. I hate getting my hopes up, but from what I've seen, it really looks like it could rank up there with Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker for me.
-
I don't know… if Nintendo really puts everything I always wanted from the Zelda game. Even if they really flesh out Zelda's and Link's relationship (and it ends positively unlike every other Zelda game) then I think it'll automatically hit the top for me...
C'mon Nintendo! Make it happen! give me a satisfying HAPPY ending for once!
-
just because a Nintendo magazine ranks it high doesn't mean everywhere tho. I struggle to see (from what we've seen thus far) why it wouldn't receive high scores tho~
-
I'm not really getting excited about the score, but how they are ranking it compared to OTHER Zelda games and other Nintendo games. If it got ranked higher than SMG2, then that's really something. If they full on say that this is best Zelda game hands down, then really it only gets me even more excited.
-
Apparently Edge gave it 10/10 too. Was expecting them to be harsh on it lol
-
I'm really looking forward to this game, but I'm not hyping myself up too much seeing how disappointing twillight princess turned out to be. The colorful aesthetic is a good sign though, much better than the boring grim aesthetic of TP. This reminds me a lot of Wind Waker, wich makes me really happy as that's my favorite Zelda game. I'll take colorfull interesting visuals over realism any day. From what I've seen Ghirahim also seems like an awesome villain to me, really looking forward to fight with him.
! Too bad it turns out he's trying to revive his master, I would have prefered him to be the big bad. I don't really like it when a big bad is only introduced very late in the story. I prefer a villain who you periodically meet throughout the story (who maybe taunts/fights you a few times like Ghirahim does). I really hope his master doesn't turn out to be Ganondorf and we thus have to fight him again as the final boss
Another area TP completely failed in was that when you got a new item in a dungeon, you only needed it for that one dungeon and never again. I really hope this is not the case for SS because that would seriously disappoint me, what's the point of getting this awesome new weapon/tool if you never have to use it again after half a dungeon? I have this suspicion that this wil be the case in SS too.In short, this game looks like it'll be great, judging by the visuals and the story being changed up a bit (Zelda being a normal girl, Zelda & Link's romance, a cool new interesting villain that isn't ganondorf). I'm looking forward to it a lot, but staying cautious.
-
Hmm. I'm thinking of getting back into video games, so this might be a really good way to do that, since while I didn't play many of the "Real Games" Zelda did seem like one of the better/best ones. I think I'll look into it.
-

! Wait, where did you hear he would have a master to summon? Because all I here is that he's basically the major villain and only wants Zelda, not caring if Link dies or not. I doubt he wants to summon someone unless there's some proof of this. And I believe awhile ago, Nintendo came right out and said Ganon won't be in the game, at all.

! Isn't the game set hundreds of years before Ocarina of Time, and therefore, hundreds of years before Ganondorf was born? I mean, from what I can gather from Zelda's fairly convoluted timeline, Ocarina of Time was chronologically the first game not counting this one (seeing as Ganondorf gets his hands on the Triforce of Power, which lets him turn into Ganon, which is the form we see him in throughout the rest of the series), and the NES games (where Ganon dies permanently rather than being sealed away and his followers are trying to revive him) are chronologically the last. Then again, I could be interpreting it wrong. But, still, I'm pretty sure that whoever this "master" is, it can't be Ganondorf.
-
So, am I the only ones who's been on youtube listening to the pieces from the 25th anniversary symphony? Because they are awesome

A few pages ago in this thread there's a link to a game magazine website with a bunch of spoilers.
Anyway, glad to that Ganondorf isn't in this one (not that I hate him or anything). -

Oh thanks for pointing that out. I was so pissed I waiting too long to get my tickets. Freakin show sold out.

I wouldn't mind if it was Vaati.
But he can't have been born either. He got his powers in the minish cap.
And Skyward should be the first in the timeline.
But at the same time, the Minish cap introduced us to Links hat…
So it should have played even before Skyward Sword.. -

! Ganon the Demon is different from Ganondorf the man. The demon has existed almost as long as hyrule, if I remember correctly. It just so happens that his tool in OoT, Ganandorf, has become more famous than himself.

I'm pretty sure that isn't true. Do you have a source?
-
! I actually think its gonna be like a inhumane beast this time. like that huge monster that haunts Link in his dream.
But I still see Ghirahim as the big bad but the monster he's trying to revive as the main threat. -
I'm pretty sure that isn't true. Do you have a source?
In FSA, Zelda refers to Ganondorf as the "ancient demon reborn." True, it's a lot more of a theory, but I'm very inclined to believe it to be true.
TellingShowing you why might be a spoiler, so I won't do that unless you want me to. -
I'm hesisitant to call FSA completely canon to the main zelda universe. Given they have ganondorf get power from his trident rather than the triforce among other things, I feel like it's most likely a parallel universe
-
I always wondered why the Trident of Power never shows up that much, as it's a evil Master Sword (Well, you know what I mean).
-
I just had to fucking sell my Wii.
I suppose I'll just have to wait for the Wii-U so I can buy this godly-looking game.

For those who might have missed it there a new trailer out: (mighty sexy one too!)
HEAVY SPOILERS!! WARNING!
To avoid spoilers, its a trailer featuring the musical instrument this time around.!
The action cutscene looked great and my god Fi is just pure beauty! -
New Trailer!!!!
WARNING MAJOR SPOILERS!!!
! Confirmed WW unpowered Master Sword? Also the Sheikah woman looks more like Impa to me now. Also… the scene when the desert became all green again was amazing!
Hype level is over 9000!!!
-
I'm a big pessimist if it comes to motion(wiggle waggle) controls, but damn… Zelda just makes me want to try it again.
It really looks awesome... daaamn... I'm conflicted... -
It's NOT wiggle waggle in this game (unlike Twilight Princess). It's a lot more accurate controls and the game punishes you if you actually go try to waggle your way through enemies. Give wii sports result, to get an idea of how it will be…
