@captain:
know what might make a neat spin off; a show called "springfield" where it shows antics from everyone BUT the simpsons. yes i know they've done episodes like that here and there, but to have a whole series dedicated to it might be interesting.
They actually talked about doing exactly that for a long time, had a few episodes experimenting with it, but they never got around to it.
The problem remains the same, the production company, writers, producers, and the ratings would remain the same, and even getting rid of Bart, Lisa, and Marges' VA's, the other 3 would still have to stick around since they voice hundreds of characters… and I doubt they'd agreee to stay while the other three were pushed out.
@Ubiq:
Far as that unresolved ending business goes, hell, even when a series does get a movie, that doesn't necessarily mean that the loose ends will be tied up. Look at Teen Titans.
Eh, Teen Titans at least got Robin and Starfire together officially, that was about the only thing it really needed to do. Slade had basically been dealt with when they fought Trigon and they came to an alliance/understanding.
@Nobodyman:
First season ended with them falling in a gorge to their supposed deaths.
BAM! Cancelled.
Well, considering their lives and their luck, thats actually a reasonable ending for them.
