http://www.imagebam.com/image/3388c6151434980 Ohmygod, really ? :getlost:
-
Is that the clique of the vice-president? Most of these guys look like they just have returned from some bizzare adventure.
Is that you, Rykiel?
-
Fuck this guy can write a good story.
-
Damn, Togashi pulled a Kubo in this chapter, 8 pages of black and dialogues.
-

Comparing white backgrounds to the last words between 2 people that "loved" (we could say it right?) each other, is just fucking disgusting.
-
Storywise the dialogue was awesome, but it doesn't forgive Togashi's lazy moment in this chapter.
-
lol'd at 9 pages of stunted predictable dialogue on a blank background. The pacing in these chapters is VERY slow.
-
The chapter was good but we could have used less pages of just Komugi and Mereum conversing. I do like the designs of the Hunters; I just hope they're not pushovers.
-
Not a bad chapter, but not much happened.
-
God this chapter was lazy.
When we actually got, well, drawings it became good but goddamn Togashi.
-
I actually didn't mind the black backgrounds for several pages. There was a nice pay-off in the end. The repeated panels of Netero however…
-

It's also apparently the last time we'll ever see him. :(
-
Togashi, you lazy boy. A fairly touching chapter despite said laziness. Guys at the end seem pretty tough.
-

I was thinking the exact same thing, maybe it's togashi's way of giving a shout out to araki
Damn, Togashi pulled a Kubo in this chapter, 8 pages of black and dialogues.
At least it was 8 pages of dialouge that furthered the plot. Whenever kubo does something like that it's like an irritating friend who sends a text message….one...text...at...a...time

I thought those pages represented those 2 talking in the dark. I can't wait to see it animated.
-
Wow. 9 pages of blank panels.
Yeah, I don't think even Bleach has pulled that one.
Well, maybe he'll do something in the trade.
Spread was cool looking tho.
I thought those pages represented those 2 talking in the dark. I can't wait to see it animated.
I assume its the king going blind and dying.
Its a neat idea. But… for a panel or two. Not for 9 pages.
-

It was from Komugi's perspective. She's blind!
And @the others: we all know already that Togashi's lazy, and whatnot. If this is a surprise to you then I don't know what to say.
-
Wow Togashi.
You have guts, publishing that in JUMP.
So I'm guessing the spoiler pic that had Meruem's body resting in Komugi's lap was a fake…?
@Mugiwara: There's lazy, man, and then there's 9 pages of text on black panels. Let's not try and defend it.
-

No it wasn't fake. http://www.mangareader.net/hunter-x-hunter/318/9

Weird! It wasn't in the one I read. Odd.
-
I don't know guys. Maybe I'm just partial to HxH, but I actually liked this chapter. Slightly less than last weeks deliberate emotional rollercoaster, but I still enjoyed reading this chapter. Meruem losing his eyesight at the doorstep of death was a nice addition, even if it made the chapter drag a little bit. Ultimately, making him more human was this arc's redemption. I think a lot of people hated how he looked like Cell, but actually giving him character pretty much removes all the issues at least in my eyes.
Looks like Gon's dad has a way to weasel out of meeting others again. 95% of all hunters is a big number, but it leaves that 5% of people that can abstain from voting. Somehow, I get the feeling that, even though we probably saw him already, we won't be seeing him during the election.
-
I honestly liked the blind game finale. Even though it's whole eight Togashi pages. And then - that spread. It works. It strikes. It pays off. No wonder Palm looked that way. All things considered, this is a heavy sight.
And Netero's resignment video is nice. Simple and straight, just like he used to be.
I guess this chapter was was an ideal of Togashi. He was drawing manga and at the same time he wasn't.
It was from Komugi's perspective. She's blind!
It's a game of the blind. On the first page King asks if Komugi is still there, due to her long moment of silence, thinking through her moves. That's an obvious hint King's gone blind.
-
I was actually pretty touched by the chapter and didn't mind the unusual method he used to bring it across. I still needed that bit of closure.
Now, it's time to move on and the new characters (those are the twelve zodiacs, right?) look promising. -
i actually enjoyed the chapter, but trolling is still trolling.
well actually those 8 pages might still be forgivable, if not for the next panels slowly zooming-into netero's nose.
seriously wtf.
-
Its one of those things that probably works better in a collection. Amidst 200 pages its a neat storytelling device.
Out of 15 pages, (many of them spreads) its incredibly lazy.

–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I found this pic with a google search, seems straight for the most part.
-
It was a pretty good chapter, but as has been stated, incredibly lazy. This will look better in a volume.
-
-
Second one looks more correct though I fail to see the resemblance with a horse and as you said one seems to be missing.
-
Like others have said, the black panels worked pretty damned well, especially ending with that panel.
Dammit, now I'm all depressed.
-
I Liked it Although it was a bit predictable (only cause of the last chapter of course). It will come to life when it´s been collected in the volumes.
I can hear Togashi crying and complaining "Why can all my chapters be like this? I long for you dragon queeeest!!"
-
if i where to guess, i would say the DOG, is instead the RAT.
and then no Dog shown. just seems strange though to not include one of the zodiacs if that is indeed what this is supposed to show
-
Is Jin one of the Zodiacs?
-

Maybe Kaito is the rat. Look at him in 316.

Apparantly the typsetters in mangazone screwed up. The last bubble on page 9 is supposed to say "Meruem…" not "...". Kind of a major line to fuck up.
The guy said he'd fix it. -
Oh, so the chapter is like the ending to "Town of evening calm". The final panels are all white because the main character loses her eyesight and is slowly dying.
-

The guy said he'd fix it.What a surprise. However, that's quite something to fuck up with. I thought it was kind of mean of Komugi to not answer King's last call…
-
I was wondering as well. Mangastream had this part right though.
-
Quick! Everyone make a prediction for the next arc! What plot point will it focus on? And will it be a longer arc, or something smaller that sets up for future things (like getting Killua from his fam at the beginning of the series)?
-
After this arc took 7 years, one would hope the next arc would be a shorter, simple 10 or 20 chapter affair. If it was, we might actually see the end of it by 2014.
-
Well there a slight hope this time with the new anime and Naruto being near it's end (filling the gap, big three, that stuff). Then there's DQ10…

Well, we'll know in… 2 weeks I suppose.
After that we've got another 10 weeks where we don't have to worry about it.
-
Even if it was a lazy chapter, it was well done and fits with the theme, it was well written, but it could have been integrated with last week's chapter, taking out most of the "2-5-8 shinobi" lines and end with the spread of dying komugi.
-
Chapter was okay. 9 pages of darkness is a waste, but I didn't really mind it, since the payoff with the doublespread of meruem and komugi is just breathtakingly beautiful. Normally I would hate it, since I dislike this "throw in some blank pages to appear artsy" shit, but damn…that spread. Also that zodiac group...I hope them to be the 10 SSS Hunte (w/ the guy in the shadows) that have been annouced at the very beginning of the manga. Seems like a appropriate time for them to appear.
-
9 pages of blackness? REALLY? It had great dialogue, but it could've worked just as fine in half as many pages. Or even skipped entirely. I had already said my goodbyes to Meruem like twice before. And those two spreads were nice, but not enough to make me forget that Togashi could only force himself to draw 10 pages this week. Couldn't he have drawn scenes of their hands, the board, bits of the room, hell, even shots of the ceiling or whatever, something, ANYTHING but blackness?
I guess I'm honestly a little insulted. I expect this kind of shit from Kubo, but from Togashi? I guess pretentious bullshit has always been one of his tools, but this…
edit: looking at other people's posts, it was probably to represent the fact that both Meruem and Komugi were blind, a fact that I had completely forgotten because lol hiatus.
-
So that's the end of the King/Ant Arch. On one hand I loved it but it's wasn't worth years of waiting to see the end.
-
@RobbyBevard:
1.It's pretty exact, it covers almost everything except for a Hisoka fight.
2. Yes, you can switch to the manga after
3. Wait for the new anime.okay finished watching anime. Can any one point me to manga chapters containing this missed fight and where anime end?
edit: found where anime left. Just need chapters of missed fight.
-
Not really much more to say about this chapter. I just find it a bit weird because I really feel like under normal circumstances I would have hated this chapter but… I liked it. It was really, really tragic as always. Togashi really mastered the ability to tug at heartstrings over the course of this series. I think if you're able to read the Ants arc in one go it's a highly satisfying experience. Too bad many people had to wait 7 years. It was a bit much for some people sadly.
