Looks like Color Walk 2 is now delayed to January. So we aren't even getting it this year. :/

We already knew that.

I thought all we knew is that it was delayed from November to December.

No I found out from Simon and Schuster a few weeks ago.

Someone got the
for Shonen Jump. Just seeing that cover still makes me smile! Also seeing those ads for One Piece in the issue looks nice! But still, a month late Viz! -_- #Neverwillforgive -
Gah, of course Bleach gets the color pages this month, facepalm it just had to work out that last issue when OP had both color pages and the awesome timeskip colorspread it had to be the "Naruto celebration" issue, and for the big "One Piece" issue this month we get chapters with no color pages/colorspread and end up with pointless Bleach color pages. Sorry, just a little frustrated that One Piece got screwed over due to poor timing in both of these issues.
-
Yeahh it's kinda weird that Viz chose to make the October / November issue the "Naruto celebration" instead of the December issue….would've made more sense for the One Piece special issue to be the one with the time skip and color pages. This isn't a complaint...it just doesn't really make all that much sense having a One Piece issue / cover the month after the time skip when having a Naruto special this month instead and a One Piece special last month would've been very fitting.
-
What One Piece chapters are in it?
-
It should be chapters 600-602.

I believe I saw the "Now it cuts like a knife" colorspread in there. It was on the better paper at the front.

So I just stumbled across a local comic store featuring the shonen jump English version issue; first time I saw this big format - pretty great. But I'm not up for spending money on this when all I care about is just a fourth of the magazine anyways. They have the normal volumes and 3-in-1 ones, for 11£. What's your guys opinion on these? Any quality issues compared to the normal ones? My only complaint so far is that I wouldn't have the individual volume covers (plus zolo). Thanks
-
Oh nice, we're going to bimonthly. I was afraid that the digital releases would leave the print editions in the dust.
-
I feel so sorry for those editors.
-
I almost ripped my issue trying to take out the One Piece spread…
I thought it was a poster...>.>Congrats, Sniper King!! Which was the drawing?
The drawing was…Sniper King.
-
Yeah, i know. But i'd like to see it :V
-
Why does Viz still call him Zolo >_> Not that I care or anything….
Anyway,it was fun to read the chaps in this issue, and then see the current episode which covered those chaps. Are they doing that purposely,or just a coincidence.I mean,Viz trying to get the chaps innthe magazine close to the current anime episodes :ninja:

They have been mentally trained for this moment. Currently they are taking prescription drugs and drinking a lot of coffee. Since the digital releases will come first they more than likely won't have anything else to do but print them when it comes time to distribute them to bookstores. These series have had speed-ups before so it's nothing that hasn't been done before. But it's all of the series getting speed-ups so they definitely have their work cut out for them.

Okay, this might sound pretty obvious…and by saying this,im probably setting myself up for something messy,,,,
Will scanlation groups start to use the new didgital Jump manga that Viz puts out for english versions.....
-
@Baou:

It's possible, but they'll be 2 weeks behind as well, 3 weeks with the advance copies. Most likely the ones that copy will not be able to attract a large number of readers, and that will keep them at bay.
-
@Sniper:

I dont think it is, since i`ve seen fanworks of artist, that later were sent and published by the Usopp Gallery P:
Ok, i`ll have to wait to see it till i buy that volume D:

More than likely no. Seeing as how (like Shift said) they will be weeks behind the current chapters. VIZ has stated though that in the future the may close that gap of two weeks. But if scanlation groups used these than VIZ could sue them for copyright infringement. I mean they could even do that now, they have digital releases available on vizmanga.com so if they really wanted to those groups they could use those. Or just scan them straight outta a paperback volume.

It's actually two weeks.
And from what I've heard, the sound effects won't be edited (probably only translated above the panel). -
Stephen will be on this weekend's episode to talk a little bit about translating One Piece for Weekly Shonen Jump Alpha.
Also, I'd like to recommend "The Stephencast" for those who don't know about Stephen's career, it's a great insight onto his fandom and career thus far: http://onepiecepodcast.com/blog/2010/07/11/episode-112-the-stephencast/
Sorry to interrupt the fangasming, please continue!

Well now, this is awesome. I'd love it if they could try to redo the earlier volumes with his translations (and the proper terms). It'd certainly make me more interested in picking Viz's releases up.
