@Monkey:
Glad to see Pufu dead, what an annoying character.
I agree.
And his more realistic "pretty boy" look didn't help me liking either.

I would have prefferd that Pufu got 2-3 panels more, where he would ask the King for help saving him or something like that, and the King would just go "oh just die"^^ Pufu was really annoying.
Its fitting, Pufu would have never, ever asked the king to save his life. The royal guards were only there to serve the king, they never once cared about their own life. When they die, the only regretful thought they have is that they are not longer there to serve and protect the king.
So the king will pass his final moment playing with Komugi… I think he
So what happens to Palm now ?
I mean, isn't she no longer fully human ?

She's half ant, but so is Gyro. Anyway, next thing Palm needs to do is give Gon a hug.

We need to see what happened to her bf. You want to like him, but he TOTALLY wussed out, at the same time though, maybe Togashi is saving him for something and needed him out of the picture. Maybe he will redeem himself
If the king dies in the middle of a game with Komugi I will seriously love Togashi. Just seems like a pretty cool end.
Can that Rose weapon really be powerful enough to take down a being like the King? I like the emotion and all but the sneaking suspicion of an asspull lurks in the air…
1. (This is directed to everyone) Please stop using the term Asspull. Even Deus ex machina, as overused as it is, would be better.
2. A normal nuclear bomb in real life causes radiation poisoning from fallout to people miles away from the impact point. A super bomb in a fictional world like this Rose bomb causing poison to a guy who was hit in the face is not that unrealistic.

I agree. Really great way for him to meet his end.
Congrats on the EB avatar, by the way.
hummm….a billion times better then the last chapter.

I was asking because I'd like to know if she ends up being treated like a freak or not.
i still prefer the poison of a bomb foreshadowed and logically explained to a "i-need-to-protect-my-nakama punch"
The problem is that the king is the undisputed strongest in the world atm. Killling him this way will make him "the forever strongest" because no one will have ever beaten him. No matter how strong Gon/Killua becomes, there will always be the question of whether they ever passed the king's level or not. And that is what I find disappointing.

THIS
16 characters
undisputed? we've just seen a handful of fairly strong hunters shit their pants in front of them.
he may be incredibly powerful in terms of raw nen power, but I'm sure that there's some hunters out there with brilliant strategy that could make short work of the King. wondering whether Gon and Killua will be able to surpass the King is never really going to be relevant. you could have an incredibly paltry nen and still be able to utilize your ability and mind in ways capable of beating the most powerful tanks in the series.

Bucephalus is correct, strategy >>> strength in HxH. Also, if you're just reading this manga for seeing who is stronger than who, than you are doing it wrong.
Because we never saw someone plant an imaginary blade into someone's heart before? or Haikus that burn things just because it was stated so? or bombs inside people's faces without them knowing it? or manipulation powers? or etc.. etc.. etc…
I believe King could easily make it to the very top of the world. His power is limitless; true - in the world of hunters it isn't everything. But even for the most brilliant strategist he would pose a real danger. He learns fast, very fast. And his En, described in this chapter - is a fucking foton radiation. He knows and does.
That´s the brilliance of it. The apex of evolution and humans just fucking bombed and poisoned it. And he´s cool with it as long as he can play a last game with the girl that made him realize how imperfect he was.
Or Meruem´s going to die like a bitch, depending on how you see it.
Edit: well, it´s over: http://wii.ign.com/articles/119/1192214p1.html

… and that.
As for another example of possible strategy, some years ago (lol) i called the theory that Komugi actually is part of a strategy of another group manipulating the king. Not trying to defeat him by brute force, like Netero tried, but slowly changing him and perhaps leading him into .... (insert "crisis", "suicide", "change of heart", whatever).
Now perhaps soon I´ll learn if Komugi was a real (natural) person or some kind of "instrument" of a genius manipulation nen user . :ninja:

She'll slick her hair back and be the ultimate villain!
Someone could decide to take revenge against the king and go the Kurapika route, and end up with a near unstoppable ability… but only against the king.
Strategy means more than power. Poison defeating him is perfectly fine... especially considering the explosion that preceded it nearly did the job and he's only walking around currently because of a cheat. If the king got out and the world officials saw what was going on, they could make newer more elaborate strategies. The bigest problem they had this time was massively underestimating just how strong the ants were.
Still wanna know what kind of crazy insane condition Gon put on himself to access all his power and future potential on the spur of the moment. That HAS to be costly.
I really like the idea of him losing Nen. In a world like this, it would be interesting to see how he functions without it.
I feel bad for Komugi now… She'll wake up from this whole thing and be like...
"That was one hell of an earthquake. Hey king! Let's play! King...?"
I really can't see the series going on much longer if Gon just up and loses his Nen abilities. Doing that would make Gon pretty much incapable of fighting Hisoka, his Dad and really anyone else in the series, and if they just found some random Nen user who could bring his abilities back, it would seem like a bit of a copout.
Gon losing his Nen is an interesting prospect, but I feel like even for Togashi, an author who takes a lot of risks, it's a decision that could too easily fuck up the series.
Having Gon shave off a bunch of years of his life, go through a bunch of severe emotional and physical irregularities due to forced puberty, or become completely braindead for a few years seems a lot more likely. As depressing as it sounds, it would have actually be really interesting if Gon woke up and just didn't remember Killua or other major people or events in his life. Would probably seem a bit more fresh if Togashi hadn't already used the amnesia card on Meruem though.
Well i think like most people this is an important point to show off some growth from leorio hopefully and gon loosing his nen could be intresting because aren't the ryodan still looking for a person to unlock chrollo lucifer's nen maybe that could be part of the next arc. Just a thought
Well actually Togashi did bring back Hina for what seems like no apparent reason. Maybe she could play some part in giving Gon a new ability or something.
I think Biscuit will know something. She can use her Nen to make herself appear as a child, and uses 3 different Nen types to use Spa Services. Plus, she taught Wing, who taught Gon and Killua about Nen, so if she can't do something about it herself, it's perfectly reasonable she knows someone. Not to mention there's still Killua's Grandfather (where the hell is he, anyway? He left after Netero told him to, but he hasn't shown back up since), and several other people who would know something.
Plus, Togashi driving it home constantly that Gyro is not human has me thinking about what his Nen ability is, especially now that it's enhanced since he became an Ant. This isn't JJBA, but anything short of a time reset wouldn't surprise me.
@Fire Fist:

as in go back through time? and pretend the ant arc never happened?
YES PLEASE
Um, no. After the length spent of this arc, do you really want to act like it never happened?
I don't think the author is gonna make Gon go through a "no nen" phase like last time. The aftereffects of what Gon has done are gonna be more devastating than that.
I just had an idea… Doesn't Potclean still have some of Gon's Nen? If so, then problem solved. Of course, that still doesn't fix the missing arm issue... Or the fact that he's an adult now.

So you think Gon's adult form is permanent?
So you think Gon's adult form is permanent?
Not necessarily, but he is out of Nen and is still an Adult. Perhaps when he gets his Nen back he could reverse it. Biscuit does the same thing, so perhaps Gon could learn to do it too.
I don't remember it saying anywhere that Gon was out of nen.

pitou said that the only way to obtain such a big power was to renounce to his nen forever.
but it's just his opinion, he could be wrong.
Maybe they'll stab gon with a nen sword

I bet Gin could take him.
Maybe they'll stab gon with a nen sword
Maybe his FATHER will appear and stab him with a nen sword. But wait! It will actually be Killua stabbing him! Wow, we are manga geniuses.
If Gon stays an adult, can he keep those tiny tight shorts, plz?

I'm pretty sure he can't get them off. So yes, yes he can

Oh what a relief, I was trying to find it online but I couldn't and I didn't see anyone talking about it
! The end of the CA arc! I can't believe it. I love how the Hunter association is showing up at the aftermath and we are seeing the world's reaction to the news of this insane event
! Ok Togashi, showing the ants becoming more human and eanding the arc with Gin(?) is nice. But godammit i want Gon !
Here's what happens more or less
! Welfin, Hina, and Bizef go to Ryuuseigai (Translated as Falling Star City or Meteor City) to find Jairo. (This is the hometown of the Genei Ryodan, remember.)
Reina and Brovuda return to their hometown and are welcomed.
The real Commander Digo entered his 30th year of living a quiet retired life in a certain country. (I guess the previous guy the King killed was an imposter…?)
It was announced that Netero resigned from being Chairman of the Hunter Association. The news of who will succeed him gets overshadowed by politician-initiated big news. That idea had been in his will, but was known by very few people.
And everyone's lives go back to normal and we see the back of the head of some guy, maybe Ging or Jairo.

Seems interesting.
I wonder if we'll actualy see that diabolical Vice Chairman now.
Really interesting way to end the arc. I mean when you think about it, we didn't really NEED to see the King die, much like how we didn't NEED to see Pufu die.
Really liking this abrupt mini-timeskip.
Unless for whatever reason Togashi decides to go back and show what happened to the King (which isn't necessary), then it does seem like the arc's over and we're in a cooldown phase now.
I'm looking forward to a scene with all the members of the mission hobbling over to meet eachother. They really went through hell.
Chapter is out on mangastream.
what a strange chapter.. a little abrupt after last week's, but togashi did it really well.
