@omae:

Wario=Wapolthey're both the greediest money loving wierdos ever
Mmm…
I dunno.... Wapol isn't really a miser either. He's just a spoiled brat really...
hm, i think eneru looks more like eminem than zoro does… though in that pic (which is one of my FAVE zoro pics drool) i can see the resemblance...
Mr. 2 = Jerry Lewis. Just think of his Nutty Profesor voice or Profesor Fink, wich was based on his character. And The Rock and Shinto Priest Ohm.
Jerry Lewis looks kind of like the Mr.2 but not the one in the ballerina dress. He's not as crazy
I'd say it was from Don Juan DeMarco.

Somehow I dun think so. Perhaps there was another JD pic in the thread you may have confused it with.
Doublefinger seems to share many traits of Sonic the Hedgehog. She has blue hair, green eyes, uses spikes as attacks, and is very quick.
An old friend of mine has send me thie picture:
Spandam? Is that you? Waht did you do to your hairs?
I have a thought at Spandams inspiration too, after watching the last panel of this page (I don't have photoshop):
http://groups.msn.com/onepiecemangav-2/onepiecechapter386.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=4821
The first thing I thought of after seeing that grin, was this Guy:
Their Personalities have a lot in common too…cowardice, physically weak, depends on underlings, brilliant minds, Gloating, extreme goofiness. Spandams a lot more sinister Though...
I dunno, some of these (the Rock/Ohm, Spandam inspirations) seem like honest coincidences. The extended pinky thing has been done by sissies since the beginning of time.
I dunno about those two Spandam pics. I thought of him when I was playing some wrestling game. I saw on of the masks, then asked my friend who's it was. Well anyway…
Best pic I could find, but you get the jist.

You're right, of course. I was looking at the wrong pic.

GODDAMN YOU, BEAT ME TO IT!!!
I realized just before no one posted that, but oh well.
im pretty sure the guy in the pic is Mankind
LOL @ Mankind, that HAS to be the inspiration for Spandam. What about the octopus merman, and Dr.Octopus from spiderman?
I remember posting it somewhere…I guess it was the 358 thread.
Yeah,Mankind is definitely Oda's inspiration for Spandam.
I wonder if he watched wrestling….

Why would he be an influence?
Aside from being octopus themed theres nothing in common.

Oh man. Yes. Perhaps that's why Draken just cracks me up xD He and Spandam have painfully similar personalities. And of course, the Spankind joke. xD
Although there are gajillion blonde women in the world of fiction and games, Olvia strangely reminds me of one particular woman: EVA from MGS3.
I think Olvia it's Uma Thurman
I made this
Beatrix and Bill's daughter is Mia Wallace!
I don't know if someone posted this before…but Pell and (i forget his name.but the jackal dude)..where most likely based on the Egyptian gods,Anubis and Horus.
well if you, have already noticed this...i'm sorry for wasting your time.
Looking through Wikipedia and HOLY CRAP ITS KAKU!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Walrus_and_Carpenter2.jpg
'Course, that may be a coincidence, but I heard Lewis Carrol was/is popular in Japan. Plus, it's a carpenter.
Also, I was thinking name-wise, Frankenstein => Franky.
The tale of Mr. Monkey and Sir Crocodile.
Probably just a cute coincidence, because the title really is the only thing, but that was enough to make me giggle.
That guy looks nothing like Kaku.
I think your seeing the nose wrong. Its not like Kaku's. Look closer at it..
I always thought Kaku looked like the guys from Doonesbury- nose wise at least.
@Forte:

I think Oda's original idea for Morgan came from a wrestler so maybe Spandam was too
I think Olvia it's Uma Thurman
I made this
that's so awesome! both her and robin look just like uma thurman, its crazy! i think its so cool that oda is a tarantino fan…. you can see it in some of his story/characters and it makes me happy X3
Wow, that turned out to be a pretty accurate guess! Nice, man~
Don't forget the Yellow Suit being from Bruce Lee's Game of Death.
That suit finds it way into alot of things.
And that's not all.
@IMDb:
The theme from "The Green Hornet" (1966) series played during the Bride's motorcycle ride through Tokyo is actually a re-arrangement of the classical piece "Flight of the Bumblebee" from Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's opera "The Tale of Tsar Sultan" (1899). Interestingly, The Bride is donned in yellow with black stripes for this scene, which of course are the colors of the bumble bee.
And just to confirm…
@IMDb:
Uma Thurman's yellow track-suit is a direct homage to the one worn by Bruce Lee in Game of Death (1978).
yeah but bruce lee doesn't have long flowing blonde hair now does he?

Heh, I thought they were alot alike, too. That's why I imagine Spandam talking like Dr. Drakken.

Heh XD Haven't seen those episodes yet, so that will have to be the Spandam voice in my head.
Spandam… has such tiny fingers...

Yeah, I hear Drakken's voice when I read.
After I've begun to re-re-re-read the series, I've thought that maybe Oda could be his own inspiration sometimes. I mean, in vol. 3 he shows us a cut character: Hatchi, the messenger Pidgeon of the Buggy pirates.
But if you guys wanna see something reaaaaly uncanny, take a look at Luffy in this page:
http://groups.msn.com/onepiecemangav-3/volume8.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=1523
Notice the smoke in the 3rd frame.
That's kinda cool, but it almost definitely can't be related to Gear. It's just smoke.
I know Luffy wasn't going into gear at this point, I just pointed out the smoke as another similarity apart from the stance.
pretty close manga reference.
Krieg just hit him with explosive spear.
Thats where the smokes coming from.
Yes I know, but like I said, it just adds more visual similarites to his gear stance.
…this just hit me pretty recently... though it may just be me O.o
^ One downfall, the girls really aren't even close to as ugly as the manga couterparts.
Wow, the flashback Kokoro is uncanny! Not so much on the other one though.
I knew that huge nose looked familiar.
Heres one I bet no one thought of…XD
Satori the Priest is...
….70's Singer Paul Williams
Its not the ideal picture by any means. but the best I could find.
Still, if someone did a goofy cartoon version of Paul in his usual bowler cap. The resemblance would be more clear
