One thing to say: DOJYAAAA~~~N -
Just started reading Jojo and I've gotten through Parts 1,2 and 3 so far.
It's been wonderful so far, pulp at its finest. I really like the pacing, how the action never really lets up and of course the imaginative fights.
I've been wondering, why does Joseph not use any of his ripple abilities in Part 3? (except a little bit near the end but to no real effect) -
Well, it's been a damn long time since I read part 3, but I think it may have something to do with the fact that Joseph was more of an advisor than a fighter during that part, and also because Stands took the main stage, and Ripple became kinda obsolete. In fact, I think they explained Stands as a kind of Ripple evolution/manifestation or something of that kind, but don't quote me on that.
But I can feel you on that, I am a HUGE Ripple/Hammon fan, in fact part 2 is my favourite, and one of my top 5 manga arcs/parts ever. I love stands to death, but Hamon was a fucking badass ability.

i'm definitely looking forward to reading the rest.i currently like part 3 the best, though does anyone think the end felt a little rushed in some places…?

I think that's just a side effect of the events of each story only lasting a year tops (Phantom Blood excluded for obvious reasons). Means that neither the protagonist nor the villain have the time relax, shit needs to be done.
Personally I'm only half way though part 3 myself. -
And one of them will be… live action? o_O
-
The fuck?!?…....Really???
Yeah that will work for sure.
-
I can't even begin to imagine it.

Guys, this notice isn't reliable, here's another one about it:

Getting ever closer to being up to date with this series.
I'm about half way through Part 5 currently, liking the stands but not the story as much, at least not as much as previous parts.
Is this to be expected? I remember hearing that Stardust Crusaders tends to be the most popular, but I don't remember which parts fans don't tend to enjoy as much.
-
Part 5 .
-
part 6 is worse, at least the beginning.
-
Part 6 has Raoh and Pinnochio, and that's awesome.

that's why i said the beggining, seriously the part of the prison was pretty boring. although it got better when weatehr report appeared and when go to that other part of the prison where there only were about 40 prisoners.
When they gtfo of the prison, it gets awesome. -

I guess that makes some sense. just…I dunno, he seemed alot more handy with his ripple powers than his relatively weak stand power. He would've been an incredible asset in battles if he had simply decided to just use them, I feel.
But yes, I agree! Out of all the parts that I've read (which are only the first 3) the second part was definitely my favourite.

Does somebody know if an eight part of JoJoBA is planned?
SBR is finished and so far i haven`t heard what is planned next.
Any infos? -
Huuhhhhhh…...
Part 8 exists already, did you really research this?
-
Thats sure answers my question :)
-
From what I've heard part 5's most read English translation looks good, but actually mistranslated a ton of stuff from the original. Apparently it's actually very popular in the Japanese fandom for it's writing, which from what I hear definitely isn't the case for English-speaking fans. This has more info on it.
-
Yeah I guesses that part 5 is more famous in Japan because most of those Japanese AMV's of Jojo are from part 5.
-
Part 5 was actually going very well until it became clear that Araki was having trouble balancing the Stands (See Biggie Smalls, Purple Haze, King Crimson, and our good friend Gold Experience Requiem.)
-
And the series resume…
!
! Soft & Wet is his stand's name. -
Sweet.
!
-
That's an interesting Stand ability.
-
Holy shit
this is awesome
-
That is werdly accurate to the real thing.
I just have no words.
-
Question. Does Part 4 ever get any real plot? I just finished reading volume 34 and it seems like them just running around and finding people with Stand powers. There's no overall plot. Maybe it's because the group I'm reading it from has really far spaces in between release.
-
There's a main plot with a main antagonist.
Where are you at exactly ? -
Just finished volume 34 but couldn't find the chapter number. Let's Go to the Mangaka's House part 4. I know with the whole bow and arrow thing and the guy that started it all but it's not really being played out right now.
-
Come to think of it, all parts after Stardust Crusaders go without a main villain for like four volumes straight.
-
Well i'll try not to spoil but here's the thing, some of those random guys with stand powers will play a big role in the upcoming events, some will just remain random.
I know it seems like a collection of one-shots (since i stopped reading for a while because of it being so long) but at some point (in 2-3 volumes i think) one guy will appear and the main plot will revolve around him.

Yes but part 4 had no goal at all, at least in the later parts there was a main goal.
All Diamond is unbreakable was about was a couple of teens wandering and an old dude firing arrows at random people.

It's Johnny's time to shine.
Whack.

I can't stop laughing, this is so awesome.
