So does the female titan have any weak point at all? Cuz I can't see 1
Attack on Titan: Why Genocide Is Sometimes Kind of Okay

Mikasa's been looking less sexy after every chapter. Is it an artwork failure, or does she only look good when Eren's around?
-
Okay …
-
Wow. Fantastic chapter. The way people are not just killed, but viciously maimed, eaten and then even spat out (which, to me, is even worse than just being eaten). Just when we think it's over we realize the real battle hasn't even started yet. With the way things have developed, we still have a chance to get some answers here.
-
This manga only gets better.
-
is it safe to assume that whomever is in the female giant is a more advance user of that "ability" than Eren is?
-
Yes. I think he'll get clobbered. Then again she is still wounded and he's kinda enraged right now. Since he seems to be her target it would seem that neither or them would run away and we will see them fight it out to the bitter end. Did Rivaille got send in the direction this fight is happening? If so he could bring the conclusion to the fight
-
Definitely. And the questions keep coming. Obviously she's not alone so who is she working with and how many of them are there? Is it another faction of humans or are they some of the higher ups that we already know about? Then it seems like the objective is to capture Eren, judging by the way the female titan gently lifted that guy's hood a couple of chapters back to see if it was him. If she wasn't trying to check the identity before she carted him away then she wouldn't have needed to be so tender in the approach. So just what are they planning to do with Eren once they capture him?
This has been a great set up.

I have a feeling that the female titan is Annie.
I feel like she's working for a faction of humans that don't want whatever is in Eren's basement to be found, for whatever reason. She's emphasized time and again that she's been brought up to think only of her own survival, as part of some unknown past with her father (which not coincidentally happens to parallel Eren's) and some of the things she does and says express a conflict much deeper than "do I join my friends in the Scouting Legion or not?" She's one of the few significant female characters in the story that aren't with the main group right now, and besides that – she's suspicious. We know that there are humans that are allied with the titans in secret, and it's hard to believe they aren't somehow a part of the Military Police or the Nobility, working toward an unseen purpose.
If Eren gets his ass kicked going hand-to-hand with this titan (Or in this particular case, foot-to-ankle), it'll lend some weight to the theory.
And if she was trying to be gentle by checking hoods and not killing everyone straight away, it could also be because she didn't want to kill people she didn't have to.
She even freezes up and looks... sad? when Armin shouts at her, claiming she killed Eren.I think it's someone who definitely knows them, and I think it's Annie. Just a thought!

I came to the same conclusion that it was probably Annie as well. Probably just because if Eren kills the titan and finds out its Annie, it would have the most traumatic effect. It would also open up an entirely new facet to the manga where we find out that talented kids have been forcibly turned into titans (that's how I think Annie may have become a titan).
Edit: Not like Annie could have gone to the police if she was being controlled by the enemy.

Of course, Irvine said as much in the chapter.
Did Rivaille got send in the direction this fight is happening? If so he could bring the conclusion to the fight.
Irvine had him refill for this very purpose, so it seems likely he'll show up and help Eren. Or… attempt to. Question is, is Eren in a state where he will know Rivaille and accept help? I figure now would be a pretty depressing and cliche time for him to be berserker.

I'm sure you know it's been discussed A LOT in this thread; she definitely exhibits excellent hand-to-hand combat, reflexes, movement, etc. There's little left to give clues beyond showing us it's actually her.

Oh! No, sorry. I avoided all earlier discussion because I only got caught up very recently and didn't wanna spoil myself.
Evidence has only been mounting since way back when, I suppose.

Chapter after chapter after chapter, Isayama does it again and again. But this one is still outstanding. You have something like this - an then wham! - whole Rivaille's squad is dead. With these tremendous losses of the scouting legion, the only way the situation can be turned upside down is for titan!Eren and Rivaille not only do defeat, but to capture, this time for sure, the female. Otherwise, they lose more than people, but their lead to the titan mystery. And the legion has to recover a lot before trying another expedition to Eren's old home - well, if they do not push onwards nonetheless, but that depends on the outcome of few next chapters.
-
For some reason I believe Annie was being used as a red harring by the author to throw us off and the actual user of the female Titan is a character that we have seen before but overlooked.
-
Unless it was someone else we knew, that wouldn't explain the hesitation with hood-checking, letting Armin and them live, and the pained expression when Armin said Eren was dead. I can't think of anyone else we know, still alive, who fits the bill.
-

I'm pretty certain Rivaille won't bite the dust by Erens hand. If he can't fight a titan we are seriouly running short of humans who can. I don't think the mangaka will put himself into the corner where Eren is his only charakter he can use for a fight. Bringing the female titan down while dodgeing blows from both sides would finally give us a good taste of what this guy is capable off doing.
-
Even with those hints we cannot be too sure. My two guesses is that it's someone who is in cohorts with erens father and has valuable information on Eren and his friends and my other guess which is a long stretch is that it's erens mom
-
My guess is that your guesses suck
-
Top five manga easily.
Love the art.

I did not want to see those guys died especially after that embarrasing conversation. It probably made the chapter more emotional but I cant see that giant being high tier; im hoping for maybe low to mid tier which means those guys were lower than that. but thats how war is, any slight information can make a big difference in life and death situations. Had they known about her armor and other skills they might of won.
-
That has nothing to do with the topic at hand
With all the evidence pointing to Anne being in the female titan compared to the 0 evidence that it could be someone else who we may have overlooked (who even you dont know who that could be) Im pretty sure that your guesses sucking is very relevant. . .now if your guesses were backed up by some evidence in the manga hinthint*. . .
Besides, this minor reveal isnt really as important as the IMPLICATIONS of the reveal. When you take a look at Annes backstory that she mentioned when helping eren. . .the implications of her being in the titan are pretty much of shit just got real proportions. (if you cant figure that out off the top of your head-some people wont be able to since its been a while, go re-read the parts with Anne in the story again.)
-
My good sir you all may be right about anne being inside of that female Titan and truth be told given what we know it could be very much so.
As shot in the dark as my guesses are they could be right but I would give it a 10% chance.
-
I didn't expect it would be that good when I started this manga. The art is kinda odd, but it keeps getting better, and the characterization is really good. I just can't stop reading it, lol.
-
! so female titan was toying with him all along ? She did finish him pretty quick if you ask me… with a kick, just like... yeah, you know who i'm thinking about :ninja:
! And Eren loves when those titans eat him alive -
Wow…that was crazy, I didn't even understand what happened.
-
Hey I was thinking about getting into this manga so I wondered where's the best place to read?
I'd go with mangareader or mangafox but the pages there are usually resized so the quality isn't that great. Maybe there's a site with better quality? -
Mangareader and Mangafox are the best online readers for this manga i believe.
But if you want very high quality volumes you can find them in the scanlation team's site.

Thanks a lot, I can't find a download link on the site though. Do I have to register there or something?
-
hm i guess so, never really downloaded something from there but from reading the FAQ you got to atleast post once.
-
Eh, I'll just stick to online readers then…Thanks again, though!

I don't know how batoto is such a secret, but I feel like I've been linking them a lot lately…

! Great Chapter. The fighting with the female titan is finally complete, and I have to say that it was handled very well. Killing off a handful of your best fighters (and rather important characters) is not something every manga can pull off, and I applaud it for that. In my viewpoint, it keeps the atmosphere tense and the story unpredictable.
! Military angst upon return, and I can partially sympathize this time, considering what happened (I don't sympathize easily). It's understandable that the supporters would turn away now that so many resources had been wasted, and now Eren's being given up to the authorities- Needless to say, I'm excited for the next chapter.
! Also, the female titan cried. I can hear the joyous yells of the "The titan is Eren's mom!" theory supporters already. -
I'm so sure that titan is Annie now lol.

Really liked this chapter. I was pissed at last month's chapter and for the wrong reasons. I was just sick and tired how EVERYTHING always goes wrong for the protagonists. They never get a break and it's gone past shocking and heart-breaking to straight down annoying and frustrating. Even their one victory with the closing of the wall apparently only happened because the bad guys let it happen. It's like the author does nothing but think of more brutal ways to screw the humans over. To the point that he forces the cliff-hangers of despair (really, it worked the first time because the series was just starting out but I'm pretty sure no one bought Eren dying the second time it happened especially since he survived the same near death experience the first time).
Thankfully, this chapter alleviated somewhat my frustration with the author not even trying to pretend we were fooled and focusing on building up Rivaille as the badass that he is and the bad guys even sorta lost for once (or at least didn't get their way). The characters got screwed hard in the end but at least Eren was saved and it tied in to what exactly happens to the scouting legion to get them into the state we saw in the beginning of the series.
-
Isn't that what makes this manga series tantalizing? desperation and struggles. The drought of triumph, urges the readers to pursue this series each week, eager to see that elusive victory.

Is that supposed to be about last month's "cliffhanger"
Because I'm pretty much sure that anyone who paid attention to the narrative and isn't a complete moron understood that this wasn't a matter of Eren dying or surviving

Usually I would agree with this but the author has just been laying on setback after setback to the point of sadistic that rather than think "Oh man, the poor humans, they're so screwed!", I end up thinking, "Oh for fuck's sake, are they ever gonna catch a break?!?". I just like the war to be a little more balanced and not just be a total massacre.

It was pretty damn obvious Eren wasn't going to die to the point that the cliff-hanger could hardly be called that (of course that didn't stop Isayama from laying on thick the grotesque imagery of the giant hovering her mouth over Eren's head like she was going to chew off his upper body and slurping him up like a noodle while Mikasa watches). But really, I was more pissed at how on top of everything else, the bad guys were going to get their hands on Eren too. Thankfully Rivaille didn't let that happen.
-
Conditioning the reader's mind set that humans are desperate and helpless requires that amount of build up. If it was released in a more faster pace you would surely not think that way imo. Besides you can see the effectiveness of such a build up with your reaction to the recent chapter release. It made you feel good and wanting more didn't it? Hehe

Isn't that the thing though? Isn't the fight that's happening now specifically going on so the humans can fight on equal ground? In other words, we're trying to get to a point where the humans aren't completely massacred but it's been a massacre for pretty much their entire existence with the titans. The price in dealing with titans is always high and every scrap of knowledge gained always has a heavy premium. We learned a lot here and in return lost a lot as well. But we're getting closer to a turning point where the humans can at least formulate a plan with all of the facts and have a good chance of accomplishing something.
So yeah, it was a good chapter but it was sad to see that they lost so, so much. Raiding Parties won't continue with such a huge loss and not even the captured female type to show for it.
-
Why do I think that Annie is the the Mikasa that Eren never got a chance to save lol. If that Titan is Annie, then the plot would be so deep and interesting. If the enemy killed Annie's father and recruited her based on the skills her father taught her, that would be too messed up. It's like how the slave traders were after Mikasa cuz she was asian.
-
Which was the chapter where they rode into the forest and the big titan chased after them as a cliffhanger ? I kinda forgot to follow this series for a bit.
