@Crapcom:
Q.Is the cancellation of MML3 related to the departure of Inafune-san?
A. The cancellation of the MML3 project is in no way related to Inafune-san leaving the company.
What's that I smell? Smells like….Bullshit.

This is the 3DS one right? If so I half expected it after they said they wouldn't release it if it didn't get enough hype. But seriously this is bullshit. First no Ace Attorney Investigations 2 translated and now this one completely canned. Yet I see a fourth version of Street Fighter IV on the shelves. (I'm sure it's got some new modes/chars tho) not to mention their re-releases of RE:4 and Code Veronica.
I think this is probably Capcom spitting the dummy out over SF 3DS, RE: Mercenaries and Okamiden not doing as well as they hoped. The former being the only decent game out for launch (and probably the most traded in.), a game that they did some crap to stop people trading in and the last one just not even promoted in the slightest.
Fuck Capcom.
No Ace Attorney Investigations 2 translation.
No release date for Monster Hunter Freedom 3.
No Megaman Universe.
Fucking up Devil May Cry.
And now no Megaman Legends 3.
Yeah Capcom? We're done. Fuck you.

I'm not even fanraging.
I'm dead serious.
Yeah Capcom is only doing shit now…
First they give us unfinished games like Marvel vs Capcom 3 or the 3rd SFIV title with 4 charcaters, which has neither rival matches or a trial mode... Awesome. DLC politic is shit Paying for simple outfits when games like Tekken has them for free and you can do even your own.
Than they fuck up DMC with some emo looking producer of Ninja Theory and Resident Evil is now a shooter...
Surely Capcom, my fav gaming company in the past, has fallen much.
Only hope is Ashura's Wrath...
They don't have control over layton vs. wright do they? cause if that gets cancelled i'm going to go burn down there headquaters. With lemons.

It's a co-project with Level 5. Considering how popular Layton is in Japan and Europe I'll be VERY surprised if it's not completed.
"Hey, lets release Okamiden between Pokemon and the 3DS, and ENSURE it doesn't sell enough to warrant a proper sequel!
Oh yeah, I also got totally screwed and run around on my pre-order for Okamiden and that took a MONTH to get to me after release. Even though, you know, I pre-ordered. 5 months in advance. From Capcom themselves.
Haven't played a new megaman in years, )though I got the compilation disk of all the originals) and to date still haven't played SF4 or MvC3 even once. Capcom really hasn't been my company for a while.
I've always felt that Mega Man Legends and One Piece were spiritually similar, except that one managed to grow and thrive while the other has been forced to remain idle.
It's a shame, I was really looking forward to MML3.
They've let me down enough this year.
This is the final nail in the coffin.
They only can rescue it if the manage to bring back an awesome Breath of Fire game
Not gonna happen. They haven't done a Breath of Fire game in HOW long? Its been 11 years since BoF4 on the PLAYSTATION…. And Dragon Quarter which came a short time after that, was... not a Breath of Fire game.
Its also a dead franchise. Which sucks, because I really enjoyed it. Part 2 especially.

oh yah. As a mod I probably shouldn't be letting a thread with the title "FUCK" running around. I don't really care and neither do the sub mods that have already been here, and no one seems offended so far, and Capcom deserves it, but it IS an all ages board. And this thread might be around for a while.
SO.
Any other colorful euphemisms that can be used instead? We can make a game of it. Best insult/exclamation of hate gets to be thread title.
Capcom: How to destroy a fanbase
Pains me since, yes, I will be more than likely buying RE4HD.
Same here, but hey it comes from a time when they didn't completely piss off their talent (plus its one of my favorite games of all time), so maybe theres SOME hope left.
The current title. Everyone knows what profanity is.
Capcom, congratulations on finally succeeding in burning every possible bridge you have.

Honestly, if no one complains, I'd say let it be.
Plus, they deserve it, and censoring it would just end up making the point far less blunt.
Something they do not deserve.
There's always **** or F*CK or the every colorful FUCKETY FUCK CAPCOM
alternatively EAT DICKS CAPCOM or EAT SHIT and DIE Capcom.
CRAPCOM is as CRAPCOM does.

True that, sad as it is.
BOF2 & 3 were great. BOF3 especially, the story & characterisation were superb. Rei is the best.
I don't think I've played much of BoF 3 to really rate it. I did like 1, 2 and 4 tho. Although saying that. I tried to play 4 a few weeks back and found it really really hard to get into.
I liked BOF3 for how colorful the world was, but all the characters sorta lose thier developments in the timeskip. My favorite part about the game is how it would throw all these different gimmicks to make each adventure different. I liked BOF2 mianly for the awesome character design and the overall adventure. The secret ending gave me a warm feeling. BOF4 was… Well it had really good sprite-work and did a much better job at making the separate cultures and races in the world apparent. But I didn't like the story at all much. It was really slow paced and a tad bit boring most of the time.
And I'm one of those that actually liked Dragon Quarter. All those underlining qaulities that made a Breath of Fire game was there, but the whole survival dungeon crawl aspect kinda overshadowed them. I just wished the game focused a bit more on the setting, races and showed more about how the ranking system affected everyone living underground. That said, the ending for that game was beautiful to me... and normally BoF endings are awful.
I still don't get why they're not localizing AAI 2. Isn't the AA series one of the more profitable DS games aside from the mainstream games.
The claim is that the first Investigations game sold poorly, even lower than Okamiden, but I've heard conflicting reports regarding this. Apparently there are some options being considered but it feels more like a token gesture than anything else. And honestly, from everything I've heard, most of the blame falls to Capcom for barely even making an effort to promote the game in the first place.
Now I feel like buying Ghost Trick out of spite, but money managing is an issue, and that would be sending mixed messages, wouldn't it?
Ghost Trick is another one that was released to little hype. Although then again it did hold a chart position in Game for a few months till that and Golden Sun were reduced. I really need to go through it.
Investigations was so hyped the first time I saw it was in a £10 bargain bin in Morrisons. Although then again I don't recall any of the Ace Attorney getting much attention in the UK. All of mine were US imports.

Dragon Quarter would have been a fine BoF TACTICS game… if they had ALLOWED YOU TO SAVE.
It was a game designed around making you replay the game multiple times, (You literally could not get into a lot of areas until new game+) assumed you were going to die a lot, and it only gives you one save token every two or three hours after lengthy dungeon crawls. Really. WHAT THE HELL. Oh. And it punished you by killing you for using your powers at all. Or walking. Not even powered walking. Just. Walking. Or having a turn.
I liked the designs, story, and the world and even the gameplay... but god they had a couple massive gameplay oversight issues.
Despite how I feel about Investigations (especially the last case) and Ace Attorney as a whole I'm very surprised Investigations didn't sell well. Or is it a matter of the game selling decently but not enough that Capcom expected.

Yeah. I see the game more as an experimental spinoff more than anything. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoyed it.
But you see. Here's this thing I figured out after I was already done with the game. It's the SOL system. Upon using a Save Point, you can go off into any dungeon, use as much of the broken overpowered dragon powers if you want(really), rank in alot of treasures and party EXP, place what you want inside a locker THEN literally reverse time(SOL Restore) to where you last saved with ALL your Party EXP and stuff in the locker intact(the Dragon Counter reverts back to how it was too). I just wished I knew how abusable the system was when I first owned the game…

! Who do you feel loses out? Rei & Garr's are the only ones that really need to go anywhere post timeskip, and they do. Momo gets some that I wasn't even expecting.
I love the Breath of Fire series. And I love Dragons Quarter, even with it's stupid save system and dragon power. The overall tactical combat system, where you could make traps and blow monsters up was brilliant and fun. And they didn't give me a crappy ending like in BF3.
And then they shoved the franchise away.
Oh yeah, FUCK YOU CAPCOM
! Who do you feel loses out? Rei & Garr's are the only ones that really need to go anywhere post timeskip, and they do. Momo gets some that I wasn't even expecting.
! Well, Rei sorta felt like a tag along until you encounter Teepo agian. It would have been nice if we learned a bit more about how he struggled living alone as a murderous Were Tiger. There was just so much potential for side events that would have made him atone for his sins.
! Nina and Momo's old role disappeared completely. Before they seemed to have a decent enough friendship with Ryu. I was to a point where I was trying to figure out if there was any real motivation for them to tag along on Ryu's quest aside from saving the world and all that. Maybe I'm forgetting some important details. Or maybe Nina only tagged along because she's like a poster girl for the series. And Peco… Well, I don't mind him. He was mute with an unexpected purpose.
! Garr I can agree with. He had a purpose to help Ryu forge the correct decisions after giving up his old duty. I liked him alot.
People have no clue how much this hurts me, Inafune has been my Idol ever since I heard his inspirational story about how he tried to pitch Megaman and Capcom told him "it wouldn't sell." Then it became their major cash cow.
As a kid, I looked forward to working with the guy as I joined Capcom. My 3rd year in college, not only does HE LEAVE CAPCOM, but they urinate all over my favorite franchises. This company single handedly shattered two of my dreams.
I think what's worse, is they probably won't do anything with Megaman for a while, but never give rights up to a company that will… Or they'll rehash MM 11-20 over and over because those are cheap to make.

! I would have loved more Rei stuff, he's one of my favourite video game characters ever, but I think there was enough. Becoming a weretiger was his own choice, so it was more living with the loss of Ryu & Teepo. Between Syn City and teepo, we do get nuggets of the kind of guy he's become, looking at some of the macabre comments he makes in tent dialogue. His dialogue with Nina's mother was the funniest thing. From memory nina tags along because she likes ryu, and does not take kindly to her parents branding him a criminal. Momo has the whole sequence in the plant where she finds her fathers resurrection machine.
BoF 3 was great, because the mentor system let you customize abilties to your liking, so Rei could become CRAZY fast… and Garr could become CRAZY strong... and then you eventually learn a formation that gives the entire party the speed of whoever you have in front...
That desert sucked noodles though. I've contemplated replaying the game and decide not to sheerly because of the stupid end game desert. (never mind id you want to explore and find the items hidden in it.) ...and the vampires in the final hallway. Their status effects make them harder to deal with than the actual last boss.
BoF 2 was my favorite, I played that one several times through. Never quite beat BoF1, I just couldn't get through the invisible maze near the end, since the way the characters walked and animated you couldn't really gauge if you were up against a wall or not.
Use a guide for the desert.
Then it's just a twenty minute timewaste.
BOF1 was a pretty poor game. 2 & 3 are why it's remembered so fondly.
Balio & Sunder are my favourite bosses ever.
Damn. You guys are making me wanna play BoF 3 again. I just finished Suikoden 2 and been contemplating Disgaea 2 or Star Ocean. Guess I could put those off again XD

I did.
And it still sucked.
Well you've already done most of the cool stuff by then anyway.
! Mcneil, Beyd, the balio & sunder chase, palets resurrection attempt, following rei's trail of destruction…

Think I might break out my PSP for a bit myself. One of the most underated rpgs.
It's one of the games I bought a PSP for. I might aswell try to complete it.
Now I want to play BF3 again. Momo  But I lost my PS1 copy, buhuuu…well, BF4 will do it.
Hey, I remember Dino Crisis. Also a good game than Capcom gave a shit.
The whole design with BOF was so backwards though. As a kid I played BoF 2 first, then BoF, it seemed like the first one used way much more of the SNES's Capabilities.
Attacks that actually hit your enemy, semi-3d… while BoF 2 had lackluster animations all around. I was so confused. BoF is ridiculously harder too IMO.
The desert seemed really tame on my second playthrough for some reason. Mainly because I WENT back to find the 2nd most powerful sword.. 1st being the Gooking Sword… which seemed rare enough to be an urban myth. The first time I was a bit annoyed at how random encounter spots can turn your direction on the main map... But the game kinda warns you about all the things that can go wrong. If there was any moment in the game would avoid... It's probably that really big dungeon with all the cranes. Every room just looked the same and I could not tell if I was running around in circles.
I wished magic wasn't nerfed in the game though. The damage scaling was so awful, Nina took the backseat in battles forever.
! I would have loved more Rei stuff, he's one of my favourite video game characters ever, but I think there was enough. I suppose you are right. It's been a long time since I replayed it afterall so I only vaguely remember certain things. Still, the indivual story arcs for Nina and Momo felt a bit weak or simple compared to like say.. The characters in BOF2. Those characters there had a bit more than just a mere attachment to the main character. Not saying it's entirely bad or I disliked thier company. Just a bit lacking.

Oh Capcom. Reducing Breath of Fire to a mobile spin-off game.
(Maybe I should be more positive. They remember BoF.
…Nah)
That's almost a disappointing as Star Ocean Blue Sphere(best game gameplay-wise in the series for me) being remade on mobile.

Is it that not just IV remade or something?
Next we'll be seeing Suikoden VI: I-Phone edition!
Also aparently the moment the anouncement was made the Japanese devroom was shut down and no one can log in or post there anymore.
Yeah…..Capcom listens to it's fans.... :getlost:
Capcom should really just sell the Megaman trademark to Inticreates or something. Someone who'll actually do something with the title.
In a perfect world…

Why do they keep the license, if they cancel any new game in the series eventualy ?
Because they can still sell ports and remakes of remakes of the classic games.
Capcom: Failing on all cylinders. >:(
Gonna quote a post from another forum I go to that sums it up perfectly.
@Daxdiv:
Yeah, they sure do know how to effectively troll their fanbase. Case in point, here are some things they did to toy with Wii owners this generation, otherwise know as the Wii Test:
"Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition sold millions! We'll get you guys more Resident Evil games!"
Release light gun shooter that does well
"Wow, you guys like light gun shooters! Here's another!"
Sequel bombs
"Oh, I guess you guys don't like Resident Evil!""Buy Zack & Wiki and you'll get more hardcore games!"
Proceed to stealth release the game
"Oh! You guys failed. Sorry!""We'll finally use those third person RE4 controls you all like in a new game!"
Announces Dead Rising Chop Til You Drop completely missing the whole point of the series
"Oh! I guess you guys don't want third person shooters, either!""We're taking a big risk on Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom! If you guys want more fighters, buy it!"
"Hey, good job guys. It actually surpassed our expectations!
Announces MvC3 for HD consoles and never releases another fighter for the WiiI'll admit that Zack and Wiki getting a moderate success even with promotion would have been a long shot, but c'mon, that game was just a point and click adventure game, which is pretty niche in this generation of gaming and putting so much faith in that game was crazy. Keep in mind, I'm a fan of those games thanks to TellTale Games.
One more thing, I'm ignoring things like them fucking up MvC3, not releasing AAI2, Whatever the fuck they're doing to DMC and that gay ass one save file in RE: Mercenaries 3D where I can't even delete my save file.
That reminds me, I should really get to playing Zach and Wiki again sometime.
