Got my copy and made sure to register it before I turned it on haha (I'd better get that CD, Nintendo!). It looks beautiful I must say, but I'm a bit disappointed I have to beat it first in order to unlock master quest. Oh well, challenge accepted!
Ocarina of Time

Yeah, no changes to the dungeon itself as far as I'm aware.
i thought i read they made each level a slightly different color or something to help with it a bit
any clerification on that? but yea otherwie its not that hard. played wii version recently. i remember as a kid i missed a key somewhere and thus took me forever cause couldn't get past a door. but again it should be way nicer being able to equip boots super quick like in twilight princess.

yea i want master quest NOW. i'm playing twilight princess over again and that is essentailly master quested on the wii due to being FLIPPED for the sword to be in the right hand
be nice to have master quest so that they have a more sense of continuity. you know having the death mountain and dessert both on the same side of the map
-
Apparently the error was because they were gone. At least thats what I think this is trying to say.
-
Their "source" is a guy who called nintendo.
I did that yesterday, after the original source did so and got a completely different answer.
I suspect we'll know for sure what's going on tomorrow.
-
Well like I said. I rang Nintendo on Friday and they told me there were 100 discs for UK + Europe. Yet I seemed to have nor problem at getting it (at least I assume I've gotten it since I got the email confirming.)
But like you said. I'm sure we'll find out in a few days. I think anyone in UK+Europe registering yesterday or today shouldn't be surprised if they are gone.
-
I got my copy, and got my CD ordered and everything. I'm excited about that. :D
I have to say the game feels REALLY short to me now, though. It took me no time to beat the Deku tree dungeon. The boss went down quicker than I remember as well.
-
Just started actually playing this. 3D is superb, but for me, I need the absolute sweet spot to not get double vision - a lot less forgiving then Ghost Recon was on that score.
I beat gohma in literally about 15 seconds. And I remember having so much trouble with him on the '64…
Edit @ envy : snap.
-
yeah the game does feel a lot easier but I guess it's because most of us have been through the game that many times. I was glad to realise I didn't quite remember the layout of the Adult dungeons.
I'm in the Fire Temple atm. And personally I think the 3D is pretty good. I only switch it off when aiming.
-
I'm surprised to be saying this, but I think that anytime you don't need to use the camera(and the slingshot view is better anyway), the DS controls are better then the 64's.
-
I do like them better. Although personally I've found it a lot harder to use the shield and sword in fights (like against the Stalfos) dunno why XD
-

I don't remember having all of that much trouble in the N64 version, but I remember needing to make it drop from the ceiling more than once. I stunned it at the very beginning of the fight and attacked it, and then it went up and I shot it with the slingshot and attacked it again and it was defeated.
I don't remember it going that fast back on the N64 version.

I gotta admit. The adding Vivi to occasionally say 'HEY! LISTEN!' only to tell you to have a rest is also very annoying. It's like they made her even more annoying.

You may have made a mistake thar.
-
Next time Navi jumps up, I need to see if I can press up on the D-Pad instead of having to press the touch screen, because that. That was the biggest Navi annoyance so far.
-
Hahaha, I was halfway through death mountain and my game froze and I hadn't saved it since before getting saria's song. Dammit, that'll teach me.
-
Does this mean Vanessa is gonna win
-
I didn't initially realise the catapult contest was controlled by the gyroscope, which resulted at me staring at my feet as the rupees rolled by. Got the bag after three consecutive "oh go on then, I'll give you a free try".
-

I agree. Also, I have issues with the stuff that's as close to the screen as possible.
@Holy:

I don't know for sure, since I haven't talked to her yet today. I have the feeling that I'm going to need to pull a comeback now, though.
Also, I'm pretty sure she cheated, and paid Navi off to tell me to keep taking breaks…
-
i love this game i just reached the shadow dungeon (the last one for me as i did the spirit temple b4 it).
I'm gonna have to catch up know with the thread so here goes:
Navi's just as irritating mainly when she tells me to rest every 5 seconds.
I'm loving the colourfulness of this game. makes me want skyward sword so much more now.
Im liking the little details like the drawings on malons wall or the instruction posters in impas house in the kokiri shop.
Im noticing all the tiny differences in the character models (like sheiks other eye and the over campiness of the builders)
I've found 2 of the Skyward sword easter eggs? are there anymore?
I beat Gohma in 8.5 seconds
I do like the gyroscope but had to turn it off cause i couldn't keep it steady in the archery contests.
I found the water temple no different from the original however the battle with dark link was harder but so much cooler and the iron boots are now extremely easy to use.
Speaking of items i figured they'd make the arrows like in windwaker (where all 4 types where one icon that you could swap at a press/tap)
I think that's about it but yeah it's Awesome! -
GAH! I want this game!!! SO bad!!! This really sucks that I dont have my 3DS yet. It's killing me… I guess I'll just go replay MM again...
-
Just beat the DONDONGOS. Heading to the inside of that fish now :D
I wish I had more time I should of been adult link by now @_@ damn work.
-
I love this game but the 3D is kicking my ass.
I'm ADD so bad, that I could be in the middle of a boss fight and have to pause it because I get distracted by something else and need to check it out. I think I paused the fight against Phantom Ganon close to fifty times. Took me close to half an hour to beat him simply because I couldn't focus on the game.
You can probably imagine how hard it is for em to sit still. As such, I can't have the 3D on, because I'm constantly moving around. 90% of the time I'm seeing double images and it's killing my eyes. I turn it on during cutscenes and force myself to sit still, but I absolutely cannot have it on while playing. :/
Still, the game looks great and plays great.
And to the people talking about Gohma:
If you jump cut her it only takes her four hits to go down, so maybe that's why you killed her so fast? I think it's close to 12 if you just slice normally.
-
This game is amazing. And yeah, the 3d is great, but the sweetspot can be really hard to hit. I'm in the middle of the forest temple at the moment
-
I got into the forest temple, but my hands were too tired to keep playing. :cwy:
-
Welp, Dead Hand is just as creepy as I remember. Maybe even more so.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
well, Dead Hand, our epic showdown in the well will have to wait till tomorrow, as I foolishly neglected to pay attention to my battery life.
-
How does Under the Well look? Is it still stained with blood and decay?
-
I love this game so far, hadn't a N64 back then and just could play sometimes OoT at my friend's place so I have lots to discover.
It looks really great and is quite fun but I lack of time at the moment so I've just learned the first song for the Ocarina. -
Speaking as someone who has only played through LTTP and Links awakening, my completely oblivious question for this game is thus:
How much backtracking over the same overworld is involved? 'Cause travelling across the world map to revisit every place you've ever been for the umpteenth time to try and find applications for your newest toy was my biggest gripe with those games; my inferior non-photographic memory simply couldn't keep track of where every boulder lifteable by my new glove was. -

But it's mainly optional. You will however be going through the same places numerous times to do the dungeons. They're just a bit more obvious in location.

yeah it is but i didn't like the well. I think i fell through the Invisible holes in the floor about 20 times and the trolling signs that say Look up and the a skulltula falls onto your face. That mini-dungeon pissed me off but it was still fun. If i remember master quests version is so much harder. ReDeads everywhere o_o
-
Wow. I never ever noticed the secret grotto under Kakariko full of Redeads. Was creepy

A lot in terms of Hyrule Field is in the middle of everything so you cross it a lot. Not much in that you don't really spend all that much time doing it, especially after you get your horse.
-
Glad to see the Water Temple is as annoying as ever. It took me way longer to do than expected due to me screwing up a lot XD
At least I dun have to keep on pausing I suppose.
How do you guys continue from there? Spirit Temple first then Shadow? Or Shadow then Spirit?
-

I believe Shadow Temple is supposed to go before Spirit Temple. However, I have always done Spirit Temple first because I… don't like Shadow Temple. =P (I used to be scared of it)
I love Spirit Temple, I can't wait to get to it!
-
I always get the Two-handed sword. And then I go for Bongo Bongo! That guy scares the shit out of me!
-
Shadow Temple is my absolute favorite, so I do like to save that for last. I do start it so that I get the hover boots, and then proceed to the Spirit Temple.
Bongo Bongo is just such an awesome boss that I have to save him for last.
-
Im actually letting my brother play my copy right now. He hasn't played the first iteration so he is constantly asking me how to get through certain parts. What has amazed me is that as soon ask he askes "How do you get the fat ass out of the way outside the castle?" i remembered exactly what your supposed to do. If only my memory retention was as good for my studies, I'd be a freakin' genious…
-
If they only made a Zelda game about the "Psychological and Physiological Development through the Lifespan", I would get an A in my Psychology class…
-
Great news for EuroAP:
So what tech support were saying was accurate.
-
I don't know how I remember every single detail about every single Zelda game (I could even map out worlds in my head) yet I dont do too well in Uni. sigh I don't understand anymore…
-
yeah It's kinda strange how I could remember exactly where to go for some places like the Temples
-
It's easier to remember things that are fun.
Why tcp/ip netsocks was the worst module ever.

this always confuses me. Navi tries to make you go to the shadow temple first but on your map and gear it puts the spirit temple first. So i did it that way :)
I'm now up to ganondorf and i have everything but all skultulas (so long).
It's also fun to see this game still has glitches:
-
@Holy:
Does this mean Vanessa is gonna win
I won. :ninja:
-
I finished the game 2 hours ago and i can confirm that Ganon has Green blood in this version. GREEN people!! Glad we got that out of the way.
I won. :ninja:
Congratulations!
-
I won. :ninja:

Forgot how annoying Gerudo Fortress is. There's always one Carpenter I can't find.
-
-
Fishing is still as tedious and annoying as ever but I got the Gold Scale finally.
-
Gah. Freakin Dampe. His was the last heart piece I finally got. Took me close to 1000 rupees before it popped out of the ground on my first playthrough.
Got it on the first try in my Master Quest playthrough. -_-
