Just wondering there were no breaks this week was there?
I hadn't read anything about any but then I am not the most observent of people.

I don't think so.
There should be a chapter out by tomorrow morning. In my time zone at least, lol.
Yeah thought so too - must be clamping down on the spoilers this week so this chapter might have some really interesting panals O.O
How do you think Zoro vs Mihawk should turn out ?
Should it be more about technic or spectacular ?
Whak kind of setting ?
Lenght of the fight.
^ like really long at the near ned of the series? how would we know?
i think it'll be based on quick on-site creativity than anything.
but most importantly, it'll be jam-packed with honor.
anyway. i have question about the counsel of the king.
it's held in mariejois and kings and queen from all over the world come for it
like alabasta and drum kingdom and even countries not in grand line
won't that be like, a REALLY long journey?
and really, really dangerous?
I mean, if king cobra want to go to mariejois, than he have to go through sky island
how does that work out??
surly he can't afford to leave his country for years like that, can he?
and for the country outside the grand line
they have to go through the reverse mountain!
surly they can't let the king go though such a dangerous journey can they?
ok, so lets say a marine ship with seastone coat comes and pick up the king…how does the ship travel in calm belt when there is no wind??
really, how on earth do they hold these meetings?
@Hespia:
really, how on earth do they hold these meetings?
My guess is that Marine escorts take the royals there with Eternal Poses. Marine ships have seastone to keep away sea kings and barring a major pirate crew targetting them, an Eternal Pose eliminates most other dangers and much of the time spent.
another question
so the thing about fisher tiger climbing the red line was a lie?
he said he was a slave, and rescued the other slaves when he was lucky enough to escape
i do not see how the "climbing the red line" sits into his testimonies.

This is a mix of poor translation and the awkward rushing timeline the initial flashback chapters had. He escaped, met Neptune and asked if he'd help, then scaled the Red Line alone and freed the slaves. Then they formed the Sun Pirates and yadda yadda.
but that dun makes sense.
when tiger came back to FI as a "hero" after "unusually long trip.
what was when he met the king neptune isn't it?
he was already famous for freeing the slaves
are you saying that he raided the majoirie twice?
once when he was a slave, escaped and freed other slaves
and came back to FI
scaled the red line
and freed the slaves again??
No he was a slave when he was supposed to be on an "adventure," he managed to escape somehow, came to Fishman island and told Neptune about his plans, then scaled up the Red Line to Mariejois, etc.

The english version on Mangastream had a few errors these were fixed by several people including Aohigi - if you're more interested the thread is here

I'm making a figure of Hyozo but i can't figure out how many legs he has. A normal octopus has 8 but the wiki page for Hyozo says he has 6 plus his arms. Now, I tried looking in the manga and this picture counts 6 in front but I can't make out if it's another leg behind Hammond too.
Any thoughts?
It'd make most sense if he has 6 tentacles for a total of 8 limbs, after all Hachi has the same amount.
Yeah I thought of that too, but I don't know if that applies to mermen as well as fishmen.
I don't see why it'd be any different.
I don't see why it'd be any different.
It could be that since mermen have fish lower halves, he has all 8, plus 2 human half arms. So I'm not sure if it's 6 or 8, and we haven't gotten a good panel to get a definitive answer.
Is Kuma's bear ears come from his devil fruit powers? If so, does that mean he is a zoan ability?
Nomaybe and no. /16chars
It's his hat. So no.

Looks like six to me. I thought he had eight but I'm not sure.
I wouldn't base it on an assumed standard. Hachi might have 6 arms and 2 legs but Icaros Muhhi has 8 arms and 2 legs. It's true he's a giant squid instead of an octopus, but that's how it is. Surume has 16 legs/tentacles.
I'd guess the Hyouzo would have 8 legs because the bottom part of an octopus has 8 legs, but that's nothing more than a shot in the dark which could easily be wrong.
…......... The Paw Paw fruit (Nikyu Nikyu no mi)
Jesus people pay attention.
Yeah I thought of that too, but I don't know if that applies to mermen as well as fishmen.
I don't know where exactly, but in the earlier chapters of Fishman Island there is a Female Octopus Mermade sitting on a rock with her legs clearly shown. Not the same species as Hyozu, but it might give you a good idea of what his leg count is. Then again it may not be as clear as I remember I will look.
I couldn't find any octopus mermaid. I think I'll just have to take a guess or see what looks best cause as you guys state there's really no way to be sure yet.

Here's an octopus mermaid. http://view.thespectrum.net/series/one-piece-chapter-625.html?ch=Chapter+616&page=3
The one playing a harp.
Oh there she is! She's got six visible tentacles. I'm going with six since that's what's gonna fit best on my figure.

Also here's another shot. It looks like they have 8. http://view.thespectrum.net/series/one-piece-chapter-625.html?ch=Chapter+616&page=10
You're right, it does look like there's 8 there.

Actually squid have 10 limbs (really 8 tentacles and two "arms"), you can't really compare them to octopi.
!
As for Surume, she's a freaking Kraken. You can't base her on anything in real life if Oda decides he wants to do something else with her.
(in my book, Surume is female, IDK why)
Oh god…can you put a spoiler on that...those things freak me out lol.
Fine, I will… sissy.
It may depend on the individual, as it seems like some Fish/Mermen have more "fish" traits than others (specifically the Minister of the Right who looks far more like an anthropomorphosized seahorse than a seahorse merman while many fishmen look like normal men but with fangs and webbed fingers). In the case of other species like octopi fishmen, the number of tentacles may be variable.

Thanks :3 lol. I appreciate it. Squids and Octo thingies freak me out. >_> I've thrown a book across a library once, was not expecting a squid picture.

I'm still WTFing over the minister of the right. He's supposed to be a merman yet he's the guy who looks most like a fish.
However, I kinda disagree. I don't think the number of arms varies across individuals, I don't see any reason to believe it does. Maybe the individual looks more like a fish in terms of facial features but having several arms is a pretty key part of being a cephalopod fishman/merman.

Then what's your explanation for why Hyozo has six tentacles while other octopus merfolk have eight? .-.

My theory's that Oda at first wanted to only draw on the pointed mouth, but figured he'd look better with fins on his head along with it. He just happened to become more fish than man.

A squid fishman or merman can have 10 limbs in total right? That makes the 10-limbed mermaid a squid mermaid, and not an octopus mermaid.

And having fins is a pretty key part of being a shark, yet Jinbe, Vander Decken and Daruma have no dorsal fins.
I am not shocked that Oda would make some Merman more fishlike and some Fishmen more humanlike. Real-life natural genetic processes result in variations in bodily traits, and many environmental things influence that.
Of course, no natural genetic process recorded resulted in extreme variation like the fishman/merman species.
Can someone link me to the interview where Oda explains why he doesn't kill off characters often?
And having fins is a pretty key part of being a shark, yet Jinbe, Vander Decken and Daruma have no dorsal fins.
I figured for Oda it was the sharp teeth, since all sharks have had that.
I can't say much for VDD but cookie cutter sharks don't have much of a dorsal fin. It's tinier than even most fish
Whale sharks' dorsal fins are pretty low on their body, so it isn't that weird that a fishman, whose upper body is supposed to be fishlike, wouldn't have one.
Furthermore, Jinbe has sharp and actually very big teeth, despite the fact that whale sharks have very small teeth. They eat plankton and fish eggs mainly if I recall correctly.
You know what i did never understand!?
How the fuck Luffy is able to fight with fucking sandals!!
Its just hard enough to keep them on while running and stuff, but actually fighting and kicking guys in the nuts is just not possible in my eyes. Right now it
s rly nice weather where i live and i started wearing my sandals again..but i never would use them while fighting.
I would fucking kick them in a corner and start attacking, but not having them on my feet for the whole fucking fight.
That always amazed me.

Fair enough.

Yeah, there's really very little basis of Jinbe's design on the whale shark except for his girth… His design is much more heavily influenced by Japanese oni.

I agree… I wear sandals all the time and I'm at a loss for how Luffy manages it so well. XD
Does anybody know where I can download one piece movies? atleast 720p.

Probably the same mysterious power that keeps the capes on the admiral's shoulders, as well as WB and other marines. But damn I wish how that worked. I'd fight with sandals and a cape all the time. :ninja:
@I:
Loving this movie - but good point! Scrap the cape
I might get bashed for this, but seems like this is the best place to ask.
Why use "Color of ______" when referring to different Haki in English? To me, it's similar to saying "Lakers type of jersey". Sounds kind of redundant when you can simply say "Lakers jersey".
So why not simply use "Armaments Haki", "Observation Haki" and "Conqueror's Haki"?
